Good, I hope they eventually go under. I'm not buying another Bethesda made game. Too bad to, because I was really looking forward to Dishonored.
Oh the plus side, I bought Dragons Dogma. Good game, I recommend it..and hey, you'll never guess.. no glitches!
Exactly, Xurts. I completely agree with you. Bethesda's silence is deafening.

I think it would actually go a long way to settling down the PS3 community, I think we're more ticked off at the lack of communication about the DLC than we are at not having yet.

Fair enough if it's causing issues, but let us know and we'll go back to waiting patiently.

(Me, spent my DG money on BF3 Premium, so I'll be getting the DLCs with the GotY)

Yes, like the topic says we are all annoyed. But I have to give Bethesda credit though. Think about it, Bethesda makes the best two roleplaying games this world has (The Elder Scrolls and Fallout) To make a game that great, yeah, theres going to be some bugs and glitches. No thing to do but to fix it and release it in a patch. BUT on the other hand Bethesda, We understand your trying to make it better, but we are all annoyed that for one, You released the 2nd DLC to Xbox before PS3 users can even play the first DLC, Thats wrong, For Two, You need to give us more information. Just saying were not releasing it because it don't run well won't cut it, give us infomation. Tell us why its not running the way you want it. That way for we can understand your problem and not complain.

Bethesda, the company don't have to give us anything for the wait, but all we ask is that you release Hearthfire on time, or your going to go thought this all again. Even lose some PS3 players, thats money your losing.

But I don't know why I'm talking, because Bethesda will not see this, if they do, they won't even care.......

Copied and pasted from a different post that's why it says we r all annoyed but the man has a point

Because then they'd be letting people know that there is DG coming to ps3, and we can't have that knowledge slipping out.

Company takes money from Microsoft to delay DLC to PS3.

DLC is delayed and delayed and delayed and delayed.

Do we believe it's technical issues, or do we believe the evidence?

I've come to terms with the fact it isn't ready yet. I love the games BGS makes for what they are, and it's my mistake for buying iton PS3 instead of on my 360. But I've moved past being upset, and now I'm just kind of waiting. I hope it arrives soon, along with Hearthfire, but one way or the other, I will be getting it on 360 eventually. I would just prefer to have these on my original Skyrim profile first, y'know? Haha x).

Oh one more thing which is obvious but I should realize it at first but at the bottom of the page, they only put M$ product but not Sony. That prove what kind Bethesda is... a place where ppl kiss M$ ass.

Forum threads don't work. Threats of boycotting do not get any attention. They keep us held up in a single page thread so we don't bother the Xjunk users. Kinda like cities keep homeless out of sight so they don't bring down the properity value. I have a great idea. And I WILL CONTINUE TO POST THIS INFO UNTIL I GET SHUT DOWN. THEN I WILL MAKE ANOTHER ACCOUNT AND KEEP POSTING. AND KEEP POSTING. AND KEEP POSTING.

HERE IS ZENIMAX'S OFFICE INFO:

i really feel for the ps3 players, but in all reality dawnguard wasnt all that smooth on 360 it had bugs everywhere nevermind that the dlc is very subpar with the best part of it being the ability to use crossbows and the ability to make dragon armor and weapons with the ability to craft arrows, all of which should have been in the vanilla game anyway.

i used to be a bethesda really devoted fan, not anymore

i personally have no desire to replay the dawnguard story what so ever. I didn't enjoy it all too much because of holes in logic, I didn't like that it was just mirrored quests, I didn't like the areas it put me in personally.

The only things I've continually used are what you stated about arrows and crossbows etc.

The fact that dawnguard hasn't been released on PS3 yet has also started to attract media attention, i went onto one of our largest newspapersites and it was clearly visible on the frontpage.
Sony just paid Ubisoft for exclusive content in Assassin's Creed 3. It sounds like Sony customers need to be complaining to Sony, not Bethesda. Exclusivity isn't going anywhere, so no one is going to make it stop. The best thing you can do is complain to your platform company and tell them to spend more money on exclusives so you don't feel left out.

there's no issue in buying exclusivity. There is problem in agreeing to put something out and having the inability to follow through with anything but silence. There is a problem in silence. The silence is what pisses people off most, the exclusivity they just brush off as they should. Some people believe in a little conspiracy where there is an extra exclusive time for the PS3 and so on and so forth but the issue at this point is purely bethesda and how it laid out its check list.

It seems they decided to work on the PC and PS3 versions of the game during the 30 day exclusive, and thought they could make the deadline. They overestimated themselves and have too much pride to admit that they were only just beginning to work on it. That's how I see it.

WHY CANT WE GET AN UPDATE???? SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE OPTIMISTIC PEOPLE ON HERE....BUT I AM SERIOUSLY DONE. CONGRATS BETHESDA...YOU HAVE BROKE MY SPIRITS, BROKE MY HEART, BUT YOU WILL NOT BREAK MY WALLET. I REFUSE TO PURCHASE A SECOND RATE PRODUCT FOR A SYSTEM THAT YOU DECIDE TO WORK ON "WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT"

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

ALL WE WANT IS AN UPDATE!

IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?? IS IT?? REALLY???

HERE IS A STORY-

Once upon a time,

I had faith in Bethesda...

The End

LIKE ALL FAIRY TALES....ITS NOTHING BUT LIES!!

I APOLOGIZE FOR THE CAPS...BUT I FEEL LIKE YELLING! JUST AN UPDATE!!!!!! THATS ALL I REQUEST!!!! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT BETH IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

^^^^^

So this guy, I've been seeing him being a little cheer leader trying to keep everyone optimistic for like over a month now. While everyone is raging on and telling him to shut up and face the music that Beth isn't listening, he replied with a smile saying you won't break my optimism and trust towards Bethesda.

If you broke him, that's honestly pretty sad because this was one of the most trusting die hard people I've ever seen when it came to game companies.

I'm just wondering, did the thought even occur to Bethesda that announcing another DLC for Xbox without saying what the status is on PS3 would infuriate their PS3 fanbase? PS3 is not a small percentage of their players, I think it's around 30% - 40%. A company does not do this to a share that big of the consumer base of their main product.

I am aware that coding for the PS3 is difficult, but as I've said before, other companies do it perfectly. Bethesda has themselves programmed 2 games for the console, and they have published a few more. How on earth can they claim they simply don't know how to code for the PS3 properly? Are you kidding me?

I'm buying used Bethesda, I hope you barely break even the next time you develop for PS3.

I don't think they care honestly lol

It's probably several different teams given different deadlines and they pitched an idea, that they would name a DLC after a specific month that could directly relate to an upcoming date to kind of add some sense of realism to their video game. They went with it without thinking of the possible negative consequences, and perhaps people feared losing their job for speaking up against the idea.

My story-

It all started when PS3 first released. I wanted one so bad. I had a PS and a PS2. Christmas time came around...and my parents gave me...a PS3! I was so excited. I am not a hard core gamer in any way. I played the occasional James Bond game...a few first person shooters etc.

I believe i was 18 when i recieved my PS3. Back then...i did NOT even know what an RPG was...didnt find out until i was 20.

I have always been a person who dreamed of having "Magical Powers" i am a big Charmed fan! I always wondered why there was never a game where you could just go and do whatever you want, using different powers...causing chaos...just fun stuff.

A friend of mine sends me an instant message "Have you ever tried The Elder Scrolls Series?"
I reply "What are The Elder Scrolls?" and then it begins.

Turns out i had played Morrowind once...at a friends house....on his Xbox. It took me years to figure out what that game was...cuz watching him play it looked so cool. After all of my research...i thought it was fable that i had played once upon a time...but i was wrong. I was 12 then....fast forwarding to LAST YEAR!!!! I discovered via my friend...THE ELDER SCROLLS.....i bought Oblivion....GOTY edition.....I FELL IN LOVE!

I play the game for months...and months....when i see an Ad online...for THE ELDER SCROLLS V SKYRIM.... i just about died....i couldnt believe i had found a Game series that i had hoped for......Christmas last year...i got skyrim. Still play it today. Then all of a sudden...i heard of Dawnguard....in mid June. I was so happy. Finally, a game that had a Telekinetic like ability...but better...Skyrim plus Telekinesis (Vampiric grip) i was so excited...i spent hours online....waiting for the PS3 announcment.

I still wait today to hear the wonderful news. How long should i have to wait?

How can the game of my dreams...my fantasies.....come from a company that is less than professional to me...the buyer. Bethesda made my Gaming dreams come true....but Beth, you are also the company who crushed my dream game.

I have faith....but not much left. Maybe my story will have a happy ending....we shall see....until then

TO BE CONTINUED....I HOPE.

I've seen a lot of people trying to figure out what the problem is, it's no conspiracy, it simply comes down to the engine.

Skyrim, as well as the Fallout games, run on an engine that keeps track of everything in the game. Every weapon you drop, every piece of fruit, every chalice or plate, every dead body. It keeps all of this in your save file, which is why there were memory leaks that were causing single digit framerate early on. When you load the save file it needs to keep all of that information in the system RAM, which in the PS3 is split into two pools. This is where the problem is compared to the 360 (which has unified RAM) version. So the more items and information the game has to remember, the worse it's going to run. This is why the fallout games ran terribly and it's likely why DG is running so bad I doubt it would even get past certification if they tried to release it.

So basically, the issue is that Bethesda is using a game engine that was designed for PCs with large pools of available RAM and can't be easily scaled to PS3. They knew this was an issue and went along with it anyway. It's no secret, Obsidian admitted as much when questioned on New Vegas DLC breaking that game. There really isn't an easy way to fix it short of re-coding it using an entirely new game engine.

This is all very true, but as we all know, enormous memory demands are not exactly a novelty with Beth. games. The same issue applied to Fallout and Oblivion (a propos of which, and I may be talking out my [censored] here, if save-file size is in any way proportionate to RAM usage, check your OB saves... they're larger than your Skyrim ones) and yet, quibbles aside, games ran and content was released. How it's possible that Shivering Isles could limbo under some sort of RAM-usage bar, and yet Dawnguard breaks the camel's back is beyond me.

There is also the matter of what we know about the bugs we have encoutered so far. Initially, there was some lag on the PS3, that would have been memory related... personally it didn't annoy me that much... just thought , "oh well, there's Beth. giving my PS3 information overload as usual"... then come patch 1.4 the problem vanished. In the six months since, however, we have had other more annoying bugs: Top of the list would have to be the 'water-freeze-up' - can't see how that was symptomatic of an un-adressed memory issue, simply not checking graphics coding would seem a more likely explanation... file under backward-flying dragons. Then we've had the various broken-quest bugs... again obviously not an engine or memory issue, but patently just a case of not testing or checking scripts.

In conclusion, and I'm about as far from an expert as you can imagine, I think we'd have to conclude that the problems with Dawnguard are simply that it's development for PS3 has been under-resourced if not indeed un-resourced. Our PS3's probably have a sufficieny of RAM, double-pooled or not (and come on, what gaming PC doesn't use separate graphics memory, it's the preferred arrangement), Bethesda probably just has an insufficiency of bums on seats. More bums - More timely releases.
