PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #13

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:07 am

Since it seems I'll not be getting the promised DLC's (a big main reason for buying, the expected continued playability said DLC's would add) how about letting your PS3 customers mail you our PS3 versions and receive in return a 360 copy. Right now that would really assay my bad feelings toward your company. Come up with a plan to fix this for your loyal PS3 customers who are really feeling like the ugly stepchild, abused and unloved by you.

And it's not quite as easy to just go to that local video game store and trade in our ps3 version for a 360 copy. We paid $59.99 plus tax for your game, to trade it in the PS3 version is now getting a measly $13 in credit towards a trade in. We'd still have to fork over ANOTHER $46 plus tax to get a new 360 copy. Not Acceptable, to me anyway.

This sounds like a fair and rational request, but it would require BGS/Zenimax to give a Skeever's behind about customer service.

Dawnguard will come eventually, just taking them a while to port it.

Agreed. I'm not trying to start anything and idk why that guy is?

I hope they do release it because I have a friend that is on PS3 only and is getting very impatient LOL he eventually spoiled it for him self.

I had friends and youtube spoil me -_- needless to say if and when DG comes to PS3 (( god I hope it does...it blow my entire backstory to hades and it'll never come back if it doens't come)) I'll still pick it up, along with hearthfire.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

"We don't want to tell the truth right now. We don't care about your frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update(snicker), we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the money you have given us"
Fixed

(is this on topic?)

Very much good Sir.

I'd like to add some ranting, as this seems the place to do so..

If DG does not come out for PS3 and I get offered HF instead.. It will be a travesty. A consulation prize does not equal satisfaction.

To Hades with a house, give me werewolf perks and VL form and the perks at the least. The story and content is a bonus, but please allow us to have the perks to enjoy the variations in how we enjoy vanilla Skyrim.

I totally agree. I was totally looking forward to saving the game right before the DLC is loaded and diverging the story to play both the Vampire and Vampire Hunter factions!

If they do wind up cancelling Dawnguard for PS3 I sincerely hope that they add some of the DG exclusive content like the Dragon Bone weapons, crossbows and added alchemy ingredients in a FREE patch.

It's not much of a consolation, but SOMETHING is better than NOTHING!!!

But really, that's not the worst part. The worst part is not hearing anything official from Bethesda and having fans suffer through this speculation. I'd much rather hear this kind of thing from the source, even if it's bad news, rather than sit and wait and wonder while figuratively banging my head against the keyboard in frustration... :wallbash:

Why not buy a good PC ?

And not everyone has the money/time to invest in one. I own a gaming laptop, but I don't use it for much other than MMOs, indie titles, and exclusives. In general, I prefer my PS3 and there are very few exclusives I care about on the Xbox, so it stays in storage.

Very much good Sir.

Good I would hate to think I went off topic on something that i'm sure bethesda is taking seriously.

Edit: don't worry when this reaches thread #87 we can all look back and have a good laugh.

The funniest thing is, that Todd promised vampire/werewolf perks before Skyrim got released.(In one of his preview trailers if I remember)
Their best option is to release DG in the state as its now, because there is no way in the world, they will fix the lag issue. They didn't figure it out since 2008, they won't figure it out now. Especially now, since their engine is is shreds.

Responding to me, actually. And I had forgotten that gamesas didn't develop Dishonored. I've already cancelled my preorder, though, so I'll just wait and see how it runs on the PS3 before I get it. I might just wait and get it used, so Bethesda (as the publisher) won't get the money. They're not on the best terms with me right now.

Edit: One of my buddies is at PAX and said that they're not demoing the game on the PS3. No idea why.

Ignore the fact that most of us don't have the money to buy more than one video game console or a PC capable of running Skyrim. Because that's not the point. The notion that we should be expected to buy a good PC to play the full Skyrim experience is disgusting. They released the game on PS3, we deserve to be treated the same as everyone else. Not have a broken game they can't code properly, wait months in silence for them to patch it, and then not get the DLC. Hire someone else to port your games/DLC to PS3, release the broken version like you did before, or don't release it on PS3 at all.

Every thing you said is right if the DLC was not going to release on the ps3 bethesda shouldn't release skyrim on the ps3

Meh. This is all horse-pooie. If I see HF before DG for PS3 (if either ever come to PS3, beyond whatever else they release as DLC/expansions) I will hang it up. I will play all of it for free. Mark my words.

Edit: and by free, of COURSE I mean on my friend's Xbox version... hehe.. no way would I ever do anything like torrain..terrain..oh darn, what's that word?

There is a rather funny commercial lately aired.. The premise is an insurance company pitching an app and there is a cute blonde talking with a guy about coverage. The girl comments about "it's on the internet. They can't put anything on the internet that's not true". He asks her where she heard it, and she replies "the internet". Just then, a troll (for lack of better words) enters the scene claiming he's her "french model" date (met online). And she buys it, walking away with him...

Yeah. This.

The real lack of responces from Beth's Staff disturbs me.

It's sad that you release a buggy game on a system and then just throw it in the basemant because the console's company doesn't send you cupcakes monthly. I know Microsoft's cream filled cupcakes are "amazing" but we still bought your product.

This whole ordeal is sad and somewhat fishy. Due to the fact that I could run Skyrim fine on my PC, I may just find Skyrim along with Dawnguard and it's future DLC, and any games you make in the future in a ditch.

Bravo Bethesda. Bravo.

Was not expecting this at all, thought the game would be released in weeks, maybe months, but now it's possible it will not even arrive at all. I normally don't point a finger, but I am pointing at Bethesda here. Sony is not to blame. Saying it's their fault Beth is having trouble now makes no sense, other developers do fine with their big games.

Dragon Age 1 and 2 no problems. Kingdoms Of Amalur Reckoning again no problems (perfect game made by a developer already out of business!), Dragons Dogma surprise no problems. While they may not be as big as Skyrim, they surely aren't small games. Lastly think about GTA IV, how big is that game..it's freaking huge and again NO PROBLEMS!

My buddy said it's not at PAX on the PS3. The demo unit is an Xbox, according to him. But, of course, he may just have missed it.

Has anyone done a preview of the PS3 gameplay?

Agreed. Beth, get better programmers. Apparently your team dedicated to DG for PS3 is a little... under-experienced.

I hope at least the DLC/expansion after adopt-a-child-hearth-build-a-home-fire will receive some PS3 love. Wishful thinking, and at this point I am beginning to think examining other resources a viable option.
