Agreed. Beth, get better programmers. Apparently your team dedicated to DG for PS3 is a little... under-experienced.

A team to me is more than one person. Also under-experienced that implies they have a very small idea of what there doing. Now No-Eperienced makes much more sense.

Was not expecting this at all, thought the game would be released in weeks, maybe months, but now it's possible it will not even arrive at all. I normally don't point a finger, but I am pointing at Bethesda here. Sony is not to blame. Saying it's their fault Beth is having trouble now makes no sense, other developers do fine with their big games.

Dragon Age 1 and 2 no problems. Kingdoms Of Amalur Reckoning again no problems (perfect game made by a developer already out of business!), Dragons Dogma surprise no problems. While they may not be as big as Skyrim, they surely aren't small games. Lastly think about GTA IV, how big is that game..it's freaking huge and again NO PROBLEMS!

Agreed but i think dragons dogma is bigger then skyrim i have it and i beated the game just sayin it may be bigger then skyrim but the point is yeah get better programmers bethesda

Not if you're a PS3 customer. Then its just sad.
How hard is it for a billion dollar company to hire someone who can program PS3 code?
I don't think its easy at all, especially when you keep relying on the same broken underlying technology. At this point the largest portion of blame for that difficulty is Bethesda. After so many titles with the same issues to continue on with the status gamebryo and keep on selling broken product...

If we even believe they are really working with Sony then I think its going to be many days late and far too many dollars short. The time for that was several years ago when, likely, 4j studios said something to the effect of 'Hey you need to make some changes to this engine if you are going to use in on the PS3'

Further, please don't say "Oh well its the publishers fault - lets blame Zenimax". Nope, you can lay the blame right at the developers feet. They know better than anyone what the capabilities of the software and the platforms are - they need to blow some whistles and show some integrity. Even if they personally don't get to make every command decision they are still cashing the paychecks we customers have written.

I agree to a point, but it is interesting to point out the variation between "we are not satisfied" and "all FUBAR'd". That's what we received 8/2 and 8/30, respectively.

I was talking about the Cupcake part and yes I am. Just not for Skyrim...yet I've been thinking about buying it though.

if they don't scrap the engine when next gen consoles come out someone else is going to make a better game then them, when next gen consoles come out its going to be a great time for new IP's and new developers.

Don't worry they filled that hole with the money people spent on a faulty product oh and they had enough to put a beautiful Persian rug on top of the hole.

There once was a PS3 Dawnguard fan,
who waited and read all the rants..
He saw on 8/30
the content wasn't ready
and therefore was sad for its fans.

He posted and and he tried to make sense,
of the content and indifference.
So now he just waits,
and watches debates
of a community sitting on the fence.

To my dear PS3 users who suffer:
Behold a new content is offered!
Xbox is to be released
in September a new DLC!
As we get snuffed like a candle in the dark.

So with sad heart I say this, "goodbye".
My interest in DG has subsided.
Don't expect me,
to download another DLC
that includes little kids on a bike.

Sorry my fellow PS3 fans. DG is too much for our complex system. For many, so was Skyrim in general. Not for me. It ran smoothly. I will always play TES games. But damned if I admit defeat on the count of "it's too hard to program on". Get better programmers.

Edit: I'd like to point to...oh.. every other company that's ever released multi-platform games (at least 90% right?) and say get with it.. PS3 has been out for years. I know the economy is tough, but hire someone with experience. Yes, harsh.. but darn Beth.. see our point!

Bethesda has used the same Engine (just upgraded) for the last several games, so it's no wonder it's having the same problem :( and it's even worst becuase they are basically trying to mod an Xbox one to work on an PS3..... personally i think they should buy an PS3 engine, porbably will be cheaper, Games will run fine and we won't have this [censored]....

this is also porbably why other companys don't suffer this problem, they have bulit new (or brought) engines since 2007. Although I do wonder what will happen if xbox 720? is made like ps3 (Split memory) will they make an engine? or will xbox users now suffer.....

Although thinking about it money wise, Bethesda are losing thousands! (problem more acttually) each day Dawngaurd isn't released and imagne how much financial profit and the affect it will have on there public image if DLC's aren't released.

Dishonored is only being published by Beth, not being developed by them... Arkane Studios is doing that. So Dishonored has nothing to do with Beth on this, so I don't see why anyone would use Skyrim as a reference for how Dishonored will turn out on the PS3.

these poems always cheer me up and lighten the mood thanks
i agree is really annoying when other company's can get it right but bethesda can't, heck two worlds 2 ran better than skyrim on release reality pump is very small and not nearly as skilled as bethesda and their game is still alot less buggy, and even if you do run into a glitch you can use console commands on any platform.

PS3 programmers at bethesda are simply retards. They should have let the studio which ported oblivion implement their every game to playstation 3.

They might do if the studio that did port oblivion wasn't so popular now, cause beth would have to pay higher fees than they did back with oblivion.

4J Studios from Dundee, Scotland. They also made the Minecraft version for the XBLA.

I guess it is safe to say that the PS3 will not be getting a GOTY version. If they can't get Dawnguard running properly, they won't get the future DLC projects of equal or larger size to work either, let alone all of them at once. I have played my last of Skyrim then, as I sold the vanilla game months ago and was going to wait to buy a used GOTY version down the road.

Maybe they'll do a PS3 version with only the smaller DLC's in the GOTY? That would be super lame...

Okay just heard the news.

I could rant but I'm sure it has all been said and discussed.

Just wanted to say I'm a huge fan of Bethesda, but this one really hurts. Bethesda please get your [censored] together so I can continue to buy and enjoy your products.
