I totally called this. I totally [censored] [censored]ing called this. I called this in thread number 5! To quote myself

My theory? They have a major flaw in Dawnguard that totally breaks Dawnguard. They aren't releasing that they are having this problem because the don't know of they can fix it or not. Which would explain the lack of news. They don't want to come out and say, "Hey, we have a problem that if left unfixed will force us to not release Dawnguard for Ps3 users. We don't know if we can fix it or not, but we are going to try."

We'll guys, they finally admitted there is a problem that they can't fix. They thought they could fix it, I guess they tried everything. Hopefully there is something that can fix this problem. And I was looking forward to my assassin having a crossbow too :(

So, my brother traded his Xbox 360 for my PS3. My friend is letting me buy his copy of Skyrim and I should be playing Dawnguard + Hearthfire very soon. Goodbye PS3 problems.

The harsh reality for PS3 users is that you'll be getting screwed over. It happens in every Beth game, Skyrim is no different.

We can only hope. I doubt it though. More likely they could give us another update in a couple more weeks, or around the time they announce Patch 1.8. Whichever comes first. Likely they will need another patch to make further optimizations, not to mention add support (lack of trophy list in 1.7 points to thus, unless it's hidden. In which case, optimizations are likely still required either way).

Thus is why I think we won't be getting Dawnguard at least until around the time they release patch 1.8. Or a later patch.

I find your optimism refreshing. Most people have just given up.

Believe me, having a quite difficult girlfriend who can almost read my mind, a friend who is more like a daughter to me than anything who is a hundred times more difficult, and having worked on my own fiction for over 15 years now. . . you learn patience and optimism quickly. Being on PS3 I am surprised more people haven't learned these concepts.

Will I be upset if for some really odd reason that has no business sense to it at all, not to mention could be open to lawsuits based on false advertisemant, that PS3 will not be getting Dawnguard AND all further DLC plans for PS3 are canceled. . . yes, I will be quite upset. But in the words of the great Adam and Jamie, you must have a plan B. And a plan C, and Plan D, and so forth. Thus I do have a plan B. I just really don't want to have to use it and I am holding out hope for as long as I can, until such point that Bethesda flat out admits what many fear. In my eyes the latest update does not.

In my eyes it means they have had to call in the big guns, aka, Sony. If the great internal developers at Sony can't help them iron this out, then I will finally believe all that 2012 armageddon bullcrap.

You're working on your own fiction? If you don't mind me asking what is your focus? When I was getting my MA my thesis focus was creative non-fiction. Now back to topic. If you think that PS3 users not getting the DLC qualifies as false advertisemant than you better talk to an attorney and give him his retainer right away because there is no way PS3 is getting dlc. PS3 users are yet to get a patch that makes the game playable even after deleting everything and starting fresh! Bethesda has always been associated with buggy games and glitches and even synonymous with playing favorites and taking some liberties with other platforms....but this treatment...THIS time has cost them dearly. Nobody on EITHER side of this fiasco is blind to their bad business practice. This is all in the light and other devs are watching Bethesda closely. It is pretty much parallel to self-destruction.

. . . Of course for every optimist, there's a pessimist. Or three. I'll uh, take your suggestion under advisemant.

The back of the box says "Add-on Content". I'm sorry but free updates, whether they add new features or not, is not Add-on Content. There-go, no DLC = false advertisemant. Mass Effect 3 ran into a similar problem in regards to its ending. The BBB later said that it amounted to false advertisemant based on a bullet point on the back of the box. If that can be called false advertisemant, this certainly can.

PS: It's fantasy. I can not say anything more than that. Apologies.

Hardly qualifies you for oracle status. Many predicted, based on the broken release and 4 months before anything close to a fix that the game was horribly broken on PS3 and would never be properly handled.

In my eyes it means they have had to call in the big guns, aka, Sony. If the great internal developers at Sony can't help them iron this out, then I will finally believe all that 2012 armageddon bullcrap.
Well for that you first must believe they actually are doing anythign with Sony. And we would believe that because they have been SO honest with us in the past, and demonstrated such concern and diligence in only selling products of the highest quality.

Unfortunately, by that logic they can then release a horse armor pack and avoid the problem. But does anyone really want retribution and punition anyway? Don't we really want what the parity Tweet Swines™ told us we were getting when we bought Skyrim?

Scroll down the page, go to the end of it and read right corner. ''Games for Windows/XBOX 360./XBOX LIVE/BETHESDA GAME STUDIOS/Bethesda'' Do anyone read ''Sony Playstation 3'' or at least ''Sony''? No, may be a hint of what's really going on?

I believe those icons only show up when the DLC is currently available for that platform. I think the "Games for Windows" just recently showed up.

We need some sort of update now its gone on far too long, i was quite excited about dawnguard but now its lost its hype, i was patient and willing to wait for it but now with all thats happened i've decided not to buy anymore of bethesda's games, there are some good games coming out in the next few months res6, assassins creed 3 and others so ill wait for those. It's a shame cause they have made some great games over the years, ok they had alot of bugs and glitches but i endured them cause i enjoy the games.

WELL... I'm deeply disappointed in Bethesda's lack of importance towards the PS3 fan base... Honestly, its embarrassing... I know they're having issues and all, but they could keep us updated, its really annoying that once a month they say how they're working on it and still no sign of it...

I remember in one of the earlier versions of this thread someone mentioned a game that was running horribly until a modder removed a single rock from the game, which fixed it completely, I wonder...could the reason that Skyrim and Dawnguard is experiencing all this crap is because of a single object? Like an embalming tool or a roll of paper or linen wrap. If that object could be found and removed, then maybe all of our problems would go away!
