PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #19

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:14 pm

Customers in a sense are share holders are they not? they buy a product from a company expecting them to uphold their end , that mans communication should be apart of the terms of the purchase. i am not talking trade secrets , I am talking about interacting with the customer do not treat them like an idiot because not all users are main stream idiot users some of us actually can understand stuff.

I guess we can only hope for monthly updates from these damn jabronies. Is a weekly update really to much for them to provide? Really regular updates should not be in the realm of impossible. The reason for this must be because ever since fallout 3 when Beth says "give us you're money", we say "how much". If we don't receive dawnguard, how many ps3 users will actually stop buying Beth products? Not many I imagine. How many of us REALLY care? Will we keep letting them believe we are nothing but a bunch of masochists who just take crap? I guess we just got to accept the fact, we're third class citizens because of our console choice. Sadly it seems Beth is content to keep this a continuing trend.

its not just sky rim fans either , in genral the PS3 has been less supported as most games are just ported over from the 360

I actually love my ps3. The exclusives on it blow the 360s out of the water IMO. Beth games are the only games that I own on my ps3 that are poorly ported. I own a 360 but it gets no use at all. The exclusives on it are mostly shooters that I despise. Gears and halo annoy me to no end.

They can only give us updates when they HAVE updates. Week after week of "No update at this time" would get rather annoying. Quite frankly I'd rather them concentrate on fixing the problems than worrying about having to post minor or uninformative information that will basically just cause more problems.

And how do you know that for sure? Bro believe it or not you are the customer they wish everyone else was. There are always things people don't want us to know. Why is it wrong to demand we know? Ignorance is NOT bliss in the ps3 communities current situation.

Nothings wrong with wanting more information. But to demand something from someone that can not meet that need at the time and then getting mad that you didnt get what you want is kind of absurd. I'm waiting for Dawnguard just like all the other ps3 users. But I'm aware of the limits that are placed on those we are demanding from. Is Beth handling this the best way? Not really. Do they understand our frustations. A resounding yes. What they can tell us and what they do not want to is up to them. But simply calling them liars because you dont get the answer you want is... well... childish.

Well I honestly don't know if weekly updates would be informative, but you also don't know if they will. At the moment I am rather annoyed at the lack of updates. Nothing wrong with a change in procedure.

I am pretty sure that it will either not happen until next year, or not at all. I sold my xbox 360 to get a PS3 mainly because I heard that Skyrim and Oblivion was going to be available on the PS3. Luckily I just got a 360 again, but I will never sell a system without trying the freaking game first. That was a bad call on my part.

No, nothing wrong with a change. But unfortunatly I dont think any update other than " We will be releasing the long awaited Dawnguard DLC for ps3 on (date here)" will satisify. As upset as everyone is an explantion of the delay would just bring more of the same stuff we've already seen. I feel you I do. But you have to remember there are some things we cant change, and getting too upset about it is just a waste of energy.

Well even a child can make more sense than an advlt at times. Wether I am being childish or not is irrelevant. Wether I demand information or ask in a nice tone, I am still not getting the info that I want. So if you don't mind childish is my preferred way to respond as it seems to produce the same results as playing it cool.

The ps3 just had a system update. This could be good news. Maybe the trophy info for dawn guard will show up or maybe they patched something that was causing issues with dawnguard.

Thats why beth Should be getting public relations people to communicate with us and relay information back and forth. As a consumer who buys a product I expect to be able to know why it wont work.

Truthfully, I don't really care if Dawnguard for the PS3 ever sees the light of day. I just want to be able to customize all of my characters. That is actually the main reason I wanted Dawnguard. If Dawnguard were to be cancelled, I hope Bethesda would at least make a patch for character editing.

I wouldn't expect any more patches for Skyrim PS3 if Dawnguard isn't released. Why support something that will no longer bring in a profit? Bethesda WILL drop support for the PS3 if they fail with Dawnguard. They wouldn't be able to afford to pay the PS3 coders, if they're not bringing in enough money.

Almost 100% sure they have the money to afford PS3 coders to fix it (they spend 83 million on game) it just that they don't see enought profit in spending money to fix it

Why would a firmware update add trophy information for a game? That's what patches are for.

Bethesda have the money to bring in PS3 coders. They were rolling in money after Skyrim. They could always use the Microsoft bribe money to fund the task...

Hi all.

To those who have been suggesting sitting back and waiting for unprompted updates, please feel free to do so yourselves. Others of us might choose to push for more information, as is our right as consumers.

I have had some success in getting info from Pete Hines via Twitter (I am GhostOfTyrone on Twitter - a few of his direct replies to my tweets have provided some info that various sites has taken and run with, including yesterday's mention of "other dlc" complicating Dawnguard). I will continue to request more info from Pete, Adam Boyes @Sony, and the gamesas devs until a final resolution is achieved, or some clear and concise answers are provided to frustrated PS3 Skyrim players (of which I am one).

To those who are venting angrily: we have every right to be frustrated, and every right to feel disrepected. However, Bethesda isn't likely to wish to communicate (usefully) with those requesting info in an angry, disrespectful way. Again, I (and I'm sure others) will continue to push for as much info as we can get - and I believe that those of us who do so in a constructive way will see the most in terms of (somewhat/potentially) useful feedback.

I have only been following this forum (and others), and doing my commenting/questioning through Twitter, but I wanted to check in and share my two cents. We're in this together... to a lot of people, that might sound like a strange thing to say about a video game, let alone a relatively small part of one.

Let's just hope Bethesda aren't some of those people.

I've done tech support and quite often if the solution isn't obvious I can't say how long it will take, or even give an update of progress until the problem is just about solved. If I know how long it will take then I know the solution. And given bethesda's history of giving out updates on progress of DLC that turns out to be wrong. I can see why they are more tight lipped this time around.

To me now the question isn't how long until dawnguard is released, but if ps3 will get dawnguard at all.

It's not if they have money, it's if they'll make money.

They wouldn't want to spend money on something that brings no profit, then it becomes charity xD

The question on my mind since day 1 :)

There are going to be 50 more threads like this before they announce that they are unable to solve the 'problems'.
