I think they leave the uncertainty hanging there 'cause as Wilde once said, there's only one thing worse than being talked about: NOT being talked about!
Albeit Beth is getting their name out there for the wrong reasons but it's getting around.
A weird form of free advertising if you can put enough spin on the things that go well...

Yes! To a previous poster, I don't want maybe anymore. Yes or no is fine. Yes great, I'll find other video games or movies or work to keep me occupied till it is released. If no, as I said, I'll be sad, but there are other video games, movies and my job to keep me occupied.

So the idea of bad publicity is still publicity?

It's a rediculous idea lol.

To be known for all the wrong reasons and just say, hey I'm known.

So many people in history who did a lot of good, but the bad was so much that no one even knows of the good done.

Bad publicity is a death sentence to any thing you've done right.
Any right doings will be lost in history to any of those affected.

As I am certain that bad press is never good for profit margins, the PS3 problems should have been addressed alot earlier. Maybe the people who are working on trying to fix the DLC need to be replaced. They've had well over 4 months to get it working (possibly more if its' the same people who worked on the initial Skyrim release). In the "real world", when a person who is employed by a big company can't get the job done (in a timely and efficient manner), they are replaced by someone who can. Last time I checked, there were a whole lot of people that are looking for jobs.

It is obvious that the PS3 development department for Bethesda has been seriously lacking. Like Colin Moriarty pointed out in that IGN video that's been posted several times already, there are other games that have huge worlds/game engines that play fine on the PS3. I seriously believe that Bethesda needs to do some restructuring within the company.

Seeing friendly oriented posts like this are the ones that make me really feel for PS3 users and wish there was a way they coud play Dawnguard sooner rather than later.
Heh, there are dozens more like him who began with TES long ago, have been Beth faithful for over a decade only to be getting smacked around now.

I was like him but with MW which I had on PC. I played the hell out of it, `grew up` and quit gaming. Then one day my wife bought me an xbox360. I was like, 'wtf I don't even play video games. ok whatever, the kid will like it when he gets a bit older.'

We got some sports games for when friends were over. Then just for giggles I picked up used copy of Oblivion - logged hundreds of hours. Then the Xbox dies, so I jumped ship for the PS3 and its exclusives. This time though I picked up Oblivion the same day we bought the PS3 - I wasn't going to go without my TES fix, ya know.

Until Skyrim I had never pre-ordered a video game. I have only a few games and I always go back to MW (on PC) or Oblivion and more recently FONV.

So imagine having been a fan and ardent supporter of a franchise, company or whatever for a decade plus and now this..

It seems to me the disinformation campaign against that video has already started: http://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/245548859630157825

Did you guys see Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty inviting Hines to an interview to discuss the info "that they state as fact that are completely untrue" on their IGN show. This looks very promising, that a review site as prominent as IGN is starting to hold Bethesda to account for their actions and attitudes. I doubt Hines will even reply though, or will just go with the old favourite "we have no new info at this time".

The thing that troubles me is that even if Bethesda succeeds with the PS3 DLC and Dawnguard will be released, how will it perform? Since there are so many gamers with probems on the PS3, I'm not convinced that the performance will get better if the vanilla game expands and becomes even bigger. And another thing, what about the other future expansions? If they can't even get this one to work properly on this system, what would happen when a DLC with a double size of Dawnguard get's released in the near future? I'm getting my platinum trophy on this game tonight and I've played a good solid 100 hours on the PS3 without really much problems. Just some freezes and framerate problems, but those are nothing new.

I saw some things of Dawnguard and Heartfire at my girlfriends place last weekend who has an 360 and there are some great things in there. It convinced me enough to buy an Xbox and get the waiting on something that might not even gets released out of the way. From now on I will only buy Bethesda games on the Xbox 360 or PC and I will say goodbye to Skyrim on the PS3 after tonight, but I sure hope that Bethesda will fix things and give everyone the same content that we all have been waiting for on the PS3!

Well, this is the whole reason for the delay..so that it WON'T run like crap when (if) we get it. I don't think they will dare release it until they are certain of that, which makes me think we will ot get it at all.

I know its a little late but I just notice that Pete said that Bethesda has one of the best ps3 programers in industry.
I am not even angry, now I just want to know what next his answer will be because this is starting to become comedy.
Bethesda can know only hold and hope people will forget about it when they relese Dishonored(sorry if I misspelled title.) because they are screw if they wont relesed and are screw if they will relesed it, both when it comes to popularity and money

We have more power as consumers than most of us think. When I respect a gaming company I make it a practice to buy their games new so they receive compensation for their hard work; as of now I'm buying all Bethesda games used. The only way they're getting money from me is through DLC.

I'm just not buying their games anymore. If they ever fix Skyrim I may reconsider, but it is difficult to forsee ever handing over my money to them again.

Yes, it has. From all of Petes statements (I've read), I've learned not to trust a single thing he says.

Only thing is, as far as I know, they have never apologized in a single post/thread/tweet anywhere at any time.

I have seen a lot of thinly veiled slights and insults issued by Bethesda. I have noted many patronizing platitudes issued by the public face of the company that infrequents the PS3 forum here. I have tried many of the non-working workarounds posted in the PS3 forums. And I have now seen the company call a group of gaming journalists liars for having called Bethesda out.

I have not noticed a single act or display of remorse by a Bethesda softworks representative.
