That would probably hit the big news site if that was true.

I'm not believing anybody until I hear/read a Bethesda response directly.

Some threads back i remember people were kicking around the idea of a Halloween themed release for Dawnguard in October. I don't think that that Bethesda, or any business for that matter, would purposefully thrash themselves in the court of public opinion the way Beth. has been/is being thrashed to pull off a publicity stunt.

I mean i could be wrong, i still would like DG to make it to the PS3, but i highly doubt it is gonna happen anytime soon.

if you think about it would be a good stunt though because wat is the theme of DG vampires and lycans right and wat holiday coming up holloween it makes sense seeing vampires and lycans are part of holloween

I personally find it hard to believe that a company of programing proffesionals are having so much problems with this DLC. I thought they new what they were doing. This will be the deciding factor if I spend any more money on Bethesda's products after this mess.
The problem is that is wasn't coded optimally for the PS3 from day 1.
They can't just add DLC to the game, they have to add DLC to a world that has already been played in its entirety and chararcter leveled up. As we know, the game doesn't run stable at all in this scenario (say a 10-12mb save file)

Then they have the task of adding DLC to that - actually expanding a world that is already dying on its knees.
It must be a complete mind-[censored] for them and Sony.

I seriously doubt it can be done, unless they start from scratch. Then we'll all need a new disc.

First a two points:

*TES V: Skyrim to date has sold over 10 million copies.

*~2.7 million of those copies were the PS3 version.

Now a bit of supposition('cause that's always fun!):

Let's say 90% of PS3 Skyrim players would have bought Dawnguard if it had been ready the same time as the PC version. At $20 a pop, from 2.43 million people, that's $48.6 million. That's a nice bit of cash for a digital product.

Now let's reduce that number of people to a conservatively optimistic 40% of Skyrim players who would buy DG if it magically popped in the next five minutes. We are now at 1.08 million folks, which brings Bethesda's take to $21.6 million. That's a loss of $27 million. $27,000,000. And that's with the estimate of 40% of PS3 Skyrim owners intend on buying the DLC still and i truly doubt it

Sorry my friend, but that makes zero sense to me.

I bought Skyrim on PS3 last month for Dawnguard, and i thought Dawnguard was already released at this time. It is only when i went to jeuxvideo.com (a french site), that i understood the reality...

And when i went here... hmmmm you see... I put my pain with patience :swear:

I speak for myself, but I am also assuming for others. Bethesda lost us ages ago, we have moved on from their game. When I heard that 1.7 was out I played for a few hours to see what horse combat was like, but that was it. I haven't played it in ages and I cannot be bothered playing it anytime sooner...if the DLC does come out then yay if not well we already knew it might not

Yeah, Beth and roger goodell would make good business partners.

I am a nuclear engineer not a Sw engineer, but I have spent the last 10 years working on projects converting anolog systems to digital for nuclear power plants. Millions of lines of code for these projects. All of the elder scrolls coding combined are smaller then the smallest of these projects. So Beth's efforts seem pretty pathetic IMHO.

The problem is not just with the DLC. It's ADDING the DLC to an already unstable game.

Sounds like what they've been doing for systems at Limerick Generating Station.

Agreed. I have moved on. In fact, I have begun a personal campaign to find a RPG that I like better than TES. So far Borderlands is fitting the bill. Not quite as vast, but still very fun. Has anyone played two worlds 2?

I tried Two Worls 2 but couldn't stand the voice acting. I'm playing Kingdoms of Amalur right now, and it has most of the same stuff as Skyrim, some better. The difference is the artwork. More fantasy-like. Great game. Excellent combat.

I recently just bought a new PC and Skryim on steam. I have to say the PC version is the best version. The graphics are so detailed ,and loading only took 5 seconds, on my PS3 it loads around 2 minunts -.- So, I just wasted another $60 to Beths + possible another $20 to dawnguard for sure. Overall I think is worth it for the long term, so many mods that I can enjoy now.

^ This, so this.

DG is not the problem, Skyrim is.

Beth have a serious problem of their own making, their useless PS3 anti "performance patches"!

Skyrim v1.0 is smooth, has detailed textures and solid FPS whereas v1.7 is lagtasic, muddy textures (there has been a visible nerf here) and has really poor FPS, this comparison was taken from a new installation, new save and at the exact same point in the game (character creation to escape) .

They now want to overlay DG on top of 1.7? That's never going to work. Never! They need to go back a few patches, overlay DG and then re-add subsequent patch fixes and see what sticks but I am doubtful they will ever get it to work, you see they nerfed the game on PS3 so much to reach patch v1.7 that there's no overhead left to use.

There's a fitting adage from the British Army, it is the 7 P's:

Piss Poor Planning Promotes Piss Poor Performance.

omg stay away from 2 worlds 2.. the voice acting svcks the gameplay is horrible and the storyline makes absolutely no sense. Possibly the worst PS3 game I have ever played

Actually the UK military (All services) use the 6 P's

Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

Something Beth clearly doesn't understand, or chose to ignore when it came to Skyrim PS3.

Yes. These plants were designed in the 60's and 70's. No one supports a lot of the anolog stuff anymore.

After all the anticipation for 11-11-11 I thought Skyrim was well worth it. Loved the felling of the first 20-40 hours of gameplay where I was able to immerse my self. Sadly, after the treatment of ps3 gamers I doubt if I will ever buy another Beth title for the 3.

Just came back to see if the state of things have changed. And to my suprise... nope. I'm happy to have moved on, actually. I've read some posts from folks seeking to find another game series that beats TES in terms of.. well.. everything. I said this threads ago and I know one day a game studio will make it happen. In addition, they will know how to program better and keep their fans updated on the essentials. Don't get me wrong; I still absolutely love the lore and concept of TES series. Should DG come out, and I have my doubts, I may purchase it a ways down the road. I doubt it though. I continue to work on my own version of an english The Slayers (anime series) game and also bought Disgaea 3: AoJ for PS3. I also began watching the entire series of The Slayers with my kids (which they are absolutely in love with), so I have moved on from checking online daily for updates. I stopped that a few weeks ago. My interest in HF is nonexistent. I also have my doubts about that releasing anytime soon for PS3 anyways. As soon as I read what HF was about I quickly knew I didn't want it. DG was different. Now I have catagorized it with HF. I just don't care that much. Plain and simple.

For those folks who may one day work in the gaming industry: learn from all you read from unsatisfied and jaded fans about PR, support, and favoritism. I still clearly recall the announcement of DG for Xbox. It was essentially a show-boat of "look what Xbox gets! Come get it!". The word on other platforms was "No idea". Coding aside, it's a matter of making sure you service your fan base equally. Would you have three children and offer only one or two a lollipop?

360 and PC members, a good amount, would be pissed.

And if it takes them this long to get DG out, you wouldn't see such an add-on for a good year.

There's absolutely no way Bethesda would release a PS3 exclusive DLC. None. I can't even begin to count the reasons why.
