PS3 Release for Dawnguard-Thread #26

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:19 pm

Perhaps we'll see something on Halloween. After all, this is a vampire based DLC. Either that or about the time it takes us to get to thread 42... Just 16 more to go.

I doubt it will be released on Halloween. Bethesda would most likely advertise the crap out of Dawnguard if it is released. Too many people have forgotten about it by now, and less than a month wouldn't be enough time.

Hey, I was trying being mildly optimistic. Though your probably right. Looks like a 2013 release then...

unless you count "We don't have an update," as an update, which seems rather paradoxical.

Well they do have a history of making announcements of pending announcements......

In that case, we should drop to our knees and praise Pete Hines for giving us updates practically everyday since this whole fiasco began.

It's like saying patch 1.06 counts as "Add On Content".

It doesn't, btw.

Well, another week goes by and no update. Considering how much PR they are pumping into Dishonored, I'm assuming we've heard the last we'll ever hear from them in August unless they actually fix it. It would have been nice to see them genuinely care about their fan base and keep us in the loop but apparently that simple little thing is asking too much of Bethesda. Hopefully they wake up one day and realize that they have lost a good majority of their PS3 fan base over this and attempt to mend it but for now, I'm done waiting for this game. It's too depressing to think about anymore.

I can't help but feel the same way. Ofcourse i'm upset because i'm on PS3 and won't get the DLC, but i'll get over it, it's a game. What i won't get over is Beth just sitting back in the shadows, not updating us. I didn't buy Dishonored because of this.

Ditto. And I will warn every gamer I know of these facts whenever they consider buying a Bethesda product, regardless of platform. As a consumer, we have the duty to keep our fellow consumers informed about the products and companies that make them and their respective past history.

PS3 gets a holiday release for a halloween themed game! lol

I thought they'd do that myself personally, a few months back. But, if they were gonna do that it shoulda been for every system.

Wouldn't make sense for one system to get a halloween themed DLC on halloween, and another on the next thanksgiving xD

Okay, so been reading this forum with interest for a while now so thought I'd throw in my thoughts. I do love Skyrim. Only completed the main quest lines last month and have now started a second character to try out the Imperial side of things. Yes it is flawed and glitchy but it is a lot better than it was. But. There's always a but. One of the reasons I got this game was because we were told that the PS3 would run well and get DLC. 11 months later and Bethesda are 0 for 2 I'm afraid. The debacle over DLC has even managed to overshadow the debacle of releasing a known broken game in the first place, and it wasn't just buggy on PS3 remember. Bethesda have mucked up big style, it's a PR nightmare, I swear I'm ready to phone Mary Portas on their behalf. At the moment I'll keep playing cos I enjoy it but I will wait before buying another Bethesda product. If we never get DLC, and I'm beginning to suspect we won't, it'll be a disappointment but an expected one and I'll move on. It would have been nice Bethesda, it woulda been real nice.

don't see how that's a good thing considering it wont hurt Bethesda Game Studios at all. Its only going to hurt Arcane  .

I agree. I bought dishonored for the ps3 and it runs beautifully, and is extremely fun. But like you said, its their loss.

It's not much of a loss, it's quite a good game, not very long to finish but there's a lot of ways of doing it which makes a few play throughs feel different but that a side it's nothing to write home about, it's like a couple of games mixed into its own imo.

As for these reviews... Doesn't anyone understand or learn that near every new game that comes out is the best thing since slice bread. It's awesome,it's fantastic bla bla they do this to help their sales on all platforms an so on. They even get people that aren't really interested to big up the game. Now granted dishonoured was actually quite a good game but that's as far as it goes. (IMO)

Give it a few days to a week, you will hear ... Bored now, or too many bugs or something else (they are just examples).

All these great reviews posted by Beth or Sony or Xbox it doesn't matter it will always be great because they want your money.

You will hear this alot with ea games like fifa or even call of duty the hardcoe fans (fb/fg lol) will always say this.. Fifa 13 is awesome I just got it.... 2 months later its rubbish I hate it...., fifa 14 comes out.... It's awesome it's better then 13 it's wicked. You get the idea? I'm not trying to hate on something nor boycot company's or anything of the sort, I'm just trying to give some advice because so many gamers fall into that horrible cycle.

I can't help the fb/fg-hardcoe gamers-hardcoe fans because their minds are made up in a split second of anything new coming out but I do like to help the casual gamer who likes to wait find out info ect before buying games an all I'm gonna say is dont be mislead by recent reviews of newly released games because you will fall into the cycle an hurt your wallet.

I never trust a developers review of a game cause of course their going to think their creation is great. I also don't buy games just cause their hot [censored] takes more then that, AC for example good game but I have no interest in it and won't waste my time or money on it didn't waste my money on Dishonored either. Got two solid games right now that will give me nearly 200 hours of play combined so I am no svcker. I also consider most newer games now a days complete and utter garbage..

I'm actually, kinda shocked to hear that.

I remember reading that alot of people were swearing off beth games and that beth was taking this as a joke pretty much, but the people writing the articles were thinking that although it's typically a joke that this time the bark would come with some bite.

Guess whoever wrote the article was right.

But this is how things should go. Yes it'll be hurting another company simultaneously but the PS3 users are tired of buggy games that never get fixed or get fixed REAL slowly. And getting games that are buggy as hell at the point of release and waiting 8 months to get it playable, if it ever becomes playable.

Yea I hear what your saying it just sickens me to what the gaming industry has become. I used to be in that cycle until I woke up, just don't wanna see people go through it. I know just posting here won't do much but quite a few have clicked on an spread the word all around but I just hope these people learn.

Two reasons I'm not getting Dishonored.

One, I was disappointed with Rage so much and so far the reviews I've read on Dishonored do not make it seem like anything special.

Two, I do not want Bethesda to receive one more penny from me in any way, shape, or form. I know Arkane developed the game, but it still has Bethesda's name on it.

I actually believe them when they say there are no new updates. I really don't think they can do anything to fix the game besides a complete reprogramming from the ground up. It's just gone too far and they are in too deep.
