PS3 Release for Dawnguard-Thread #26

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 1:07 pm

I hate how the Xbox controller is, plus there aren't very many games on the Xbox that I like. And my friend says if I ever buy an Xbox he will make me wish I was never born because he has had several bad experiences with Xboxs and he says I would be an idiot for buying one.
Well i hope you can get your DLC then. Have you ever thought about building your own gaming Desktop? That's what i did.

Ditto on that controller.

I had two. Keyword there is "had". My PS3 is older than both.

Granted, I loved their media player visuals. They kick some serious bootay.

Then i don't know why all the PS3 players are complaining. IF it's just one game then forget about it. You still have the base game.

Then take the time and go back and read any of PS3 Release for Dawnguard-Thread #s 1-25. The main reasons why are clearly expressed in there somewhere.

Because I don't have that kind of skill, plus my computer I have is meant for gaming, and it is a 2009, so I think it would run Skyrim fine.

I love the visuals for the Xbox, but everything else I just dislike.

Why don't you just buy an Xbox?

I might of bought an Xbox just for this game.. IF they hadn't released it for ps3. But they did. And as I prefer the ps3 over the xbox I went with it unfortunately. A mistake it seems since I basically bought a broken game.
I have nothing against the Xbox but I just enjoy the PS3 more. And I didn't have anything against beth until now either, don't get me wrong I LOVE skyrim and all the other TES games, but Bethesda really let me down by treating me and the rest of the ps3 customers like they have.

Then i don't know why all the PS3 players are complaining.

Really? I would love just to see the reaction if this happened on the Xbox version instead of PS3. I'm sure it wouldnt of been a big deal.

Look I'm not sure how other people feel about it but i have just lost all interest in Skyrim at this point. When i heard about Dawnguard i was like, great bring it on, then i heard about the 30 day i thought, thats fine they paid for the 30 days let them go for it. But to have no DLC months down the line, its actually laughable at the incompetency of Bethesda.

They spout this nonsense about their technical issues concerning Skyrim on the PS3, but this all stems back from the fact that they simply ported the game from the XBOX 360. I am not getting into an argument about which one is better console wise as it is a waste of time to argue about it my opinion. But instead of building the game up with an understanding the hardware for the PS3 they coped out and just did a port and thats where all this trouble comes from.

If this was a first time occurance I would be slightly more flexible but considering their history with DLC's its laughable that they are still experiencing these issues. At least they agreed when the blame was pinned on them rather than the console.

Well actually it's not just one game. Some of the other games released to PS3 by Bethesda have had large amounts of issues, large amounts of lag and crashes etc.

DLC released for those games on PS3 simply made the problems 10x worse.

This isn't just people upset about dawnguard, they're upset about being lead to believing that the PS3 version of the base game was going to run just like the 360's this time unlike the other times, and rather it ran bad like always with more issues.

The 360 does have issues as well, but the PS3 seems to have more and more often.

Not really. The base game is broken and still needs fixing.

Wow... Not sure this person knows what the PS3 community has had to deal with concerning Skyrim - literally since the first day.

In the end I really don't care if it comes to PS3, I use to but now see that this game just becomes boring. However I will not support this clearly lazy incapable company, and no one can deny that they are incapable and lazy as it is the main reason their PS3 titles have always had problems. I hope the they fix themselves by the next fallout but until then I really just don't care. There are plenty of actual decent games that I can play.

At the end of a the day it's just a game.

I read that the game is broken for many people. I also have the game on PS3 and I can not find any more broken than another. (I think ME3 with a bug that crashes the game start when you are connected to PSN.)

the only problems I encounter is:

1) crash the console for a loading zone but that is due to the automatic backup.

2) slowdown in some instances as the shrine of the Black Brotherhood.

3) my backups averaging 8mb, but I noticed that sometimes its size decreased falling to 7mb, then it went back to 8mb and vice versa. On any of my backups I have not yet reached the 10mb.

So, these are the only weird stuff I have on Skyrim.

Now, regarding the problem of Dawnguard, what is lacking is not the game Skyrim, but the way it was created for the PS3.

So the game is not broken.

Has it occured to any of you to just simply wait for the inevitable GotY edition to be released? I mean even if it isn't released on the PS3, at least you can purchase it on the 360 or Pc.

The problem would still be the same: Skyrim's DLC not being released on the PS3, which for some of us is the preferred console that we choose to play on. For others, such as myself, it's our only platform. A GotY edition on the 360 doesn't do me any good, especially considering I would buy a 360 because I can't stand the design of its controller.

Buying the game again on another system (which for some of us, would mean buying a whole new system) shouldn't even be a serious suggestion, especially this late in the consoles' lifespans.

I'd love to get a nice gaming PC so I can actually play a stable and reliable version of Skyrim (thanks to fans patching it), but I shouldn't have to do it to play the official add-on content on a multiplatform game.

And that would be saying "Hey Bethesda thanks for screwing over my console, but here is more money to help you carry it on"

1. Ummm, why would we pay twice for a game?
2. Only some people have both systems?
3. Not everyone has a PC capable of playing it?

*facepalm*

Monthly? I don't remember getting an update at the end of September, unless you count "We don't have an update," as an update, which seems rather paradoxical.

In that case, we should drop to our knees and praise Pete Hines for giving us updates practically everyday since this whole fiasco began.

Let's face it, Bethesda is done on the PS3. I am starting to wonder if they are really working on getting Skyrim to work, or working on a good way to spin the announcement they have ended support on the PS3 console, then face the backlash and heat that will inevitably follow. Personally, unless they completely reprogram the game from the ground up I don't think they will be able to fix the game. It's like that riddle, if you walk into your kitchen and your pizza is smoking, water on the stove is boiling over, and your ice cream in the freezer is melting, which do you take care of first? None, you get the hell out of there because your kitchen is on fire! Fixing up the DLC for Skyrim would be like taking care of the smoking pizza. It's worthless to focus on the DLC when the base game is broken. Lazy porting has finally caught up and bit Bethesda right in their smug ass. They had a run that lasted almost 10 years. Almost 10 years of taking money for, and making a profit on broken games that they never intended to fix on the PS3 console. They treated PS3 users like mindless geese that will always push out a golden egg no matter how badly we were mistreated. Well, the geese have finally had enough. The mainstream media is finally airing Bethesda's dirty laundry for all to see. Now, all we have to do is wait for the smoke to clear and take pictures of the wreckage left behind. Who's got the popcorn?
