PS3 version can't be that bad...

You guys are both lying because the patch is already out and I didn't see any of that!!

I agree my friend called me tonight saying that he has it on ps3 and its running smooth with minor framerate drops

But less than 10 frames per second is a slideshow and unplayable , i am sure that the game will have framerate drops , but i don't think it will be less than 10fps

Fallout New Vegas did this sometimes on the PS3, and that's after a years worth of patches, I'm afraid. Oblivion also caused more frame rate drops on the PS3 than the 360. Unless the developers write the game to take advantage of the PS3's CPU to take over some GPU functions the PS3's worse GPU and memory we are probably going to get a bit of lag in some spots of the game, particularly on the older versions of the PS3.

I really wish the PS3 had been designed so the memory could be upgraded. I seem to recall that the N64 had a memory upgrade cartridge when Majora's Mask was released.

If you're on a horse, yes it happens all the time, framerate also drops from time to time (same thing in fights). But i haven't had the little freezes when i'm not a horse.
I'm almost sure that this will be fixed friday when they release the patch. =D

But if it won't, it'll be fixed in another patch...

Sure, i guess i'm the liar even after showing you a video with freezes lasting about 3 seconds. (Got it on my first recording btw, so it's not like i had to try a 100 times for it to happen. Happens EVERY time!)

I dunno but you got all those bugs just today? in a few hours? got any pic or something to back that up? horses dissapearing and an insane ammount of bugs on a few hours/minutes of gameplay :spotted owl:

Because on Neogaf there are users with the PS3 version of the game and i have only read good things (and they do back up their claims with screenies and videos), they are also very advanced on the game (lots of hours in to the game)... 1st time i read about horses dissapearing and less than 10fps , sorry but this is beyond weird ... hmmm :spotted owl:
Played about 10 hours i think, and well my horse disappeared for about 5 seconds twice, doesn't happen that often tho. And yes sometimes the game runs at a VERY low FPS, i can't tell you how much exactly but it is definitely below 10, but it only happens for a few seconds usually in big fights.

Well none of this sounds good. Is there anything you can say positive about the PS3 version? Also could you please upload a video in 3rd person, with the camera zoomed out as far as it can go?

ehh, i'm still playing it safe and getting the 360 version. If i'm forking out 150 bucks for the collector's edition of the game i want it to actually be playable and i want to be confident in my purchase. (i'm a ps3 fan, don't get me wrong, but i think i'll get this for 360 simply because Bethesda seems to be really backing it and supporting it, and from all the footage ive seen of it i feel it is the most trustworthy version)

all i need to do is grab an ethernet cable so i can hook up to my laptop whenever dlc or patches are released. No biggie.

Well imo the graphics are better than expected on PS3, and the game is still fun, even with the problems it has. Also don't think you can zoom out in 3rd person view.

Trolls! Nay Sayers!

I don't expect the PS3 version to be anything less than equal to the 360 version.

I believe you.... I have a question can you disable the auto save function? I think from a technical stand point it should improve the little "freezes" you are experiencing... also how does it look in person? honesty? compared to lets say red dead redemption?

Yeah but man how long do you think they actually played it for in the store? Probably not to long. This guy has proven with videos that the game has frame rate problems, and freezes...

Dude, your screwed! Get over it already! The ps3 version is basically the xbox version, except Todd specifically demanded they lower all textures, and garble all sounds. The ps3 version is basically TES V: Turd.

I honestly think you're worrying over nothing. I'm certainly not disputing the video but from what I've seen elsewhere I've heard very little about this. Plus we have the matter of the patch. I find it extremely difficult to believe that Bethesda would not be aware of something like this. They've clearly worked themselves to the bone on this game and would not allow glitches of this magnitude continue unchecked. After all the negativity surrounding Fallout NV (I know it wasn't Bethesda Softworks that were responsible but still people will assume) they wouldn't let something like this carry on. Best case scenario - the video is made on a PS3 that unfortunately is throwing up some glitches with the game. Worst case scenario - these problems are very common but Bethesda will patch them (probably already have in the Friday morning patch.)

I could nearly swear that they'll patch an issue like this as quickly as possible. Look at the advertising that went into this. I think the last game I saw with an advertisemant involving actors was possibly one of the Halo series. Bethesda have put a lot into this, they won't screw over the PS3 users so just chill out.

Honestly, it'll be grand. You should be looking forward to the game, not worrying about possible glitches. That's one of the biggest issues with games recently, we're more and more anticipating problems that are going to occur.

Yes there are quite a few options to disable auto saves, should try it tomorrow. But it's still weird it only happens when riding a horse. Also don't get your last question, explain yourself...

The autosave system is just fine. The default setting is to save every 15 minutes. So it can't be responsible for the stutters.
When you press the left stick to change to 3rd person, keep it pressed and you can zoom in and out your character. When you release it the view will stay at the desired zoom level.
The game is just great on the PS3. I don't care if digital foundry and lens of truth declare the xbox version better.
This is not a bad port job for the PS3. It looks and plays great and is completely enjoyable. If you have both consoles wait for the comparisons before you get it. If you don't, just get it for the system you have!

Oh you can't compare them at all imo. But believe me the graphics are fine, you'll find yourself enjoying the view plenty of times in skyrim.
