PS3 version can't be that bad...

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 3:27 am

It is that bad, i got the game for PS3 today and the graphics are okay but the framerate is terrible, at some parts its below 10 FPS i think. It gets even worse if you're riding a horse, textures load very slow, framerate gets even worse, horse disappears sometimes etc.

Not even starting on the insane amount of bugs etc. But hey let's hope they fix all this with the day 1 patch...
Oh my god, I'll be pissed if this is true.

Your camera... it's actually nice quality (in contrast to other cameras used to capture PS3 screens/videos). I beg of you, please take some direct screenshots and/or record some footage? :deal:

OK I'll record footage, and post the youtube link when I have uploaded it.

Secondly, this video shows that the game looks great, and I never said it doesn't, what this video doesn't show is the PS3 version in motion: fighting dragons/ horseback riding, because that's when you get the framerate drops.
Ok, i believe that you have a PS3.. but this is the old version of the PS3.. maybe that's why you have the glitches and bugs ?

I still can't believe that in a few hours you got so many issues and in a forum i think is neogaff a guy played the game for a good amount of time and just said good things about it...

I'm starting to thing that, or you are lying, or then you are experiencing those issues because you have the old version of the PS3... or maybe because you haven't downloaded the patch ( dunno if it is already out)

Well since i don't have a decent camera i can't capture the framedrops, slow texture loading and terrible framerate at some parts, and i'm not wasting time on making a picture of bugs (like NPCs standing inside walls, falling through stairs etc.) It's not like i'm going to make all this up. I'm just posting this so they can get it fixed and so people can avoid the PS3 version while they still can.

Well "NPCs standing inside walls, falling through stairs etc." that also happens on the 360 too , indeed the 1st bug report was Npcs falling trough the world , even the player falling trough the world :P

But less than 10 frames per second is a slideshow and unplayable , i am sure that the game will have framerate drops , but i don't think it will be less than 10fps

I just want the 360 and PS3 versions to be nice and playable , and PC too lol i will play on PC 1st then at some point i will get a 360 or a PS3 copy :)

How often do the bugs actually happen? Is it a all the time thing. Or just once in a great while, like every hour or so...?

lol, well I seriously have seen barley any footage in 3rd person. It's annoying. Every stream, leaked video, etc has been first person.

I wouldn't worry, after seeing what happened with the PS3 in concerns with Fallout 3's GOTY edition I think Beth got the clue. There's still going to be hiccups, you'll get that with an openworld RPG type game but it won't be on a level that New Vegas was.

Ok guys i made a little video since none of you believe me. Don't watch the graphics or framerate since they are fine (they seem crap because of the crappy camera)

But watch closely once i cross the bridge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MowR1GrpBdM

The patch is already out.
Yes, sometimes the npc's seem to glide instead of walk, they also seem to hover a bit over the ground when they are standing but not always. There are minor bugs here an there, on a finishing animation my sword passed through someone but it was still seen from the outside. These are minor problems that won't cause you much problem unless you are the perfectionist type. The 10 fps is a joke, the fps deep sometimes but it's not that bad. The loading is super fast too.

In mostly all my games i have experienced those little "stops" ...

So it won't bother me that much... but are those really frequent ??

EDIT: IMHO i think that this occurs because of horse riding... i mean, you are walking so fast that it takes time to the Geometry of the land to load up... so this may be the reason of this issue.

If you're on a horse, yes it happens all the time, framerate also drops from time to time (same thing in fights). But i haven't had the little freezes when i'm not a horse.
