PS3 version can't be that bad...

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 8:49 am

It is that bad, i got the game for PS3 today and the graphics are okay but the framerate is terrible, at some parts its below 10 FPS i think. It gets even worse if you're riding a horse, textures load very slow, framerate gets even worse, horse disappears sometimes etc.

Not even starting on the insane amount of bugs etc. But hey let's hope they fix all this with the day 1 patch...

Different people are saying different things. Who to believe?

Below 10 fps just isn't likely, however. You would know if it was running below 10 fps at any given time.

Yeah, I got the game today too, having the same framerate drops, invisible horse glitch, and other glitches like: i got stuck in stealth mode without being in stealth mode. Also there was this one time that I couldn't use any forge, or weapon/armor building tool in the Riverwood village. One time the game actually froze 2 seconds just when a dragon did its fire breath/shout, PLEASE BETHESDA TELL ME THIS IS GETTING FIXED WITH THE RELEASE DATE PATCH !!! Because I really like the game, but the framerate drops and glitches really kick me out of the whole skyrim experience.

Lol no, i'm just warning people and hoping they'll fix it. if you have the choice between multiple platforms, don't get it for PS3.

Pete Hines said he didn't knew Todd was playing on PS3 until he saw the controller...
I saw screenshots on forums of PS3 footage and looks amazing
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ZpUi61RRlug This video is PS3 footage and looks amazing...

I can't believe that just you two have this glitches..

Also on the day the game is released, there will be a patch... they'll fix most of the bugs and glitches, etc...

How are you so sure? Patch notes please.
And what do you mean with that video? It doesn't show anything about the framerate or the bugs we're talking about.

I'm not going to sugarcoat this, I'll be pissed off as [censored] if the PS3 has issues like this. From what I hear the 360 works fine.

Why is this concept so hard for people to grasp?

Just because a copy is legitimate doesn't mean that it was legally obtained. No retailer is legally allowed to be selling the game, so any non-reviewer copies have been obtained illegally.
Not true.

If I walked into Walmart right now and somehow bought a copy, then I did nothing legally wrong. It is not illegal to buy a game before the street-date. The street date is for the store, NOT the consumer.

One other thing. It's not even illegal for a store to break the street date. They might get in trouble with the publisher, but it's not illegal.

All Bethesda games are initially buggy on all platforms. For example, the 360 actually has a verified texture-loading problem when installed to the HDD. I wonder if that carries over to the PS3 and its mandatory install...

I dunno but you got all those bugs just today? in a few hours? got any pic or something to back that up? horses dissapearing and an insane ammount of bugs on a few hours/minutes of gameplay :spotted owl:

Because on Neogaf there are users with the PS3 version of the game and i have only read good things (and they do back up their claims with screenies and videos), they are also very advanced on the game (lots of hours in to the game)... 1st time i read about horses dissapearing and less than 10fps , sorry but this is beyond weird ... hmmm :spotted owl:

See this is the problem with console wars. It has now gotten to the point that people don't even believe what other people using the same console as them are saying. However, I'm sure Bethesda will have fixed this entire thing in the patch. Really nothing to worry about.

The way I look at it is this:
- The game's graphics can't be any worse from Oblivion from what I have seen.
- Even with the worse graphics the Elder Scrolls Stories make up for any faults in full.
- Unless you set the systems side by side and play them, you will never ever notice the difference between them...
- Even if you did notice the diff. It's not worth going out and buying a different system ($$$$) to play it...

-And Finally, Dude. Relax. When It comes, you should just be glad you have it. Rather than compare your to everyone else's...

Secondly, this video shows that the game looks great, and I never said it doesn't, what this video doesn't show is the PS3 version in motion: fighting dragons/ horseback riding, because that's when you get the framerate drops.

Well since i don't have a decent camera i can't capture the framedrops, slow texture loading and terrible framerate at some parts, and i'm not wasting time on making a picture of bugs (like NPCs standing inside walls, falling through stairs etc.) It's not like i'm going to make all this up. I'm just posting this so they can get it fixed and so people can avoid the PS3 version while they still can.

Your camera... it's actually nice quality (in contrast to other cameras used to capture PS3 screens/videos). I beg of you, please take some direct screenshots and/or record some footage? :deal:
