PS3 version can't be that bad...

Oh you can't compare them at all imo. But believe me the graphics are fine, you'll find yourself enjoying the view plenty of times in skyrim.
Can't compare in which way? Red Dead Redemption was terribly ported to the PS3... sub-HD garbage... :meh:

The autosave system is just fine. The default setting is to save every 15 minutes. So it can't be responsible for the stutters.
When you press the left stick to change to 3rd person, keep it pressed and you can zoom in and out your character. When you release it the view will stay at the desired zoom level.
The game is just great on the PS3. I don't care if digital foundry and lens of truth declare the xbox version better.
This is not a bad port job for the PS3. It looks and plays great and is completely enjoyable. If you have both consoles wait for the comparisons before you get it. If you don't, just get it for the system you have!

Thanks.... still getting it for the ps3..... I loved Oblivion and fallout 3 ..... I never even noticed the problems with either game....

Awesome news. Is there anyway you can take a video of you playing as far zoomed out as you can, or at least take screen shots of it?

That's the plan, but thanks to Bethesda putting on the review embargo there are no in-depth reviews that point out the differences. And based on their track record with PS3 releases I don't have much faith.

I am forced to pre-order a 360 and a PS3 copy from Amazon and return one of them. Or not pre-order, and pick up at a store on release day, which means $10 more and no bonus map.

Hopefully it's not another New Vegas catastraphy with the Ps3 all over again :/

New Vegas dropped terribly on all Platforms. I got it on Xbox and it was pretty awful.
