PS3 version can't be that bad...

Well, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much, guys. Lighting can really make something look a lot better than it actually is. Though, like I said, draw distance is definitely better.

Okay sorry for creating another topic about this, but it's driving me crazy. The PS3 version can't be that bad right? I read on another forum about someone who had the game early and he didn't say it was terrible, but he didn't say it was good either. So my question is. If the PS3 and 360 versions are different, what will be different between them? He posted screenshots also and they looked like crap because of the bad camera. If the graphics are different what will be different about them? The graphics won't straight up look bad on the PS3 right? Also same thing goes for the performance of the game. If there is any differences what would they be? Please put my worry's to rest. :sadvaultboy:

Go to youtube. Type Skyrim PS3. Sort it by upload date. There should be a video (2nd I think) called Skyrim looks great. Watch it and feel better :)

its better than the 360 version, thats why there was no footage, 360 users would get all emo about having an inferior product.
You're going to get the mods to shut this down.

If ME2 could be fine on the PS3, Skyrim will be fine. Oblivion was fine, too. I had one problem with the vampire bug, but that was it.

Wrong... I'm ecstatic. I can't watch the video, quite yet, as I'm supposed to be doing something else, but this sounds like fantastic news. :celebrate:

If the PS3 is your only option, then there's no point in worrying about it. My advice would be not to look at any comparison videos, or read graphical shoot-out articles, if you know you're going to play it on PS3 anyway. Just buy the game, and I expect you'll be very happy with how it looks. Forget about the other platforms.

This reminds me of when I bought my first HDTV. I nearly went berserk wondering if I was getting the best possible image quality within my price range. Every set seemed to have some sort of strike against it, and I was paralyzed with indecision. But eventually I realized that when I got the set home, I wouldn't be doing a constant A-B comparison between my screen and six other sets sitting next to it on a showroom floor. I would just be watching my set, and on its own merits, I would be happy with it. And I was.

I agree with this. I have never noticed anything different about the PS3 version of 360 games. Seems to me the only difference is the 360 one looks like its lighter and that can be changed by changing some setting on your PS3 to full. Those comparison videos are usually biased towards 360 anyway, they never have the PS3 set up right(changing that setting to full). According too some low quality photos I've seen, the only differences I can see is the trees look better on 360 and the water looks better on PS3. I for one don't stare at trees so that does not bother me. I do however spend time looking at water in video games, so that is a plus for me.

And I agree with this :) Any games comparisons I've seen do seem to differ in the brightness on screen and that's about it. I reckon I'm going to buy it for Xbox 360 but might change my mind to PS3 (my brothers one) if I really feel there is an advantage. Bethesda aren't going to skimp on quality folks. I'm positive that no matter what platform you get it on it's going to be amazing. As soon as you sit down and plug in none of this will matter in the slightest.

well yeah considering the amount of money microsoft has thrown his way for dlc exclusivity and early footage rights.
he's not about to shoot himself in the foot by saying, 'here it is, the technically restricted version'.

I'm a PC user who doesn't own either of those consoles.

The PS3 has better hardware than the Xbox360.

"The Todd" has said a few times that they showed Xbox footage because they didn't want people to see the PC version for example, then see the Xbox, which wouldn't look as good, and be disappointed. Rather, they wanted people to look at the Xbox, think that's pretty sweet, then see the PC one and have their minds blown.
For this reason, I'm confident the PS3 version will look better if anything, than the Xbox one.
I doubt there's any other difference.

EDIT: I've read through the thread more and realised I've forgotten a point.
Like many people have said, they may not have bothered making graphics tailor-made to the PS3's specs, so it may look the same, or almost identical to the Xbox version.
I guess my revised point is; It certainly could look better on the PS3, if they put in the dev time (which I hope they didn't.. waste of time really, graphics don't make a game - content does).

I agree with your point of view, everything save one. While it is true that great content is essential to making a fantastic game, graphics are also very important if one expects any game to achieve ultimate greatness. For some, presentation is very important and indeed in these days where outstanding technology provides nearly limitless potential, there is no excuse for neglecting any of the quality which we the gamers deserve and have come to expect from our favourite development teams.
Luckily for us, Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls team being the magnificent group of talented people that they are all of whom seem to pay meticulous attention to the details have left nothing to chance and have indeed covered all the essentials.
No matter which platform Skyrim is plied on, from what I have seen and heard thus far, it will be a great experience; one which will change the way we look at RPGs and will undoubtedly set the bar for future developers who will have to live up to Bethesda’s high standards if they are to amount to anything.

I′m playing the ps3 the whole day now and I can say it′s awesome. No freezes, no crashes only some minor bugs. And the graphics also look really nice.
