Questions for Beta Testers (I will answer them.) SPOILERS

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 5:33 pm

Back to my one question about no magicka and being a vampire lord...
Ok so you can STILL use one effectively as a no-brain warrior, but would you say a mage vampire lord >>>>>> other types?

The Vampire Lord and a Mage as the "base" character would work extremely well together. Since all of your enchanted equipment and Perks that affect other things with your character (spell damage, magica regen rate, etc.) still have their normal effects when in Vampire Lord form, and the Vampire Lord's powers are really based off of Magica and are more magic aligned, then playing a Mage Vampire Lord should work out beautifully.

I wouldn't know for a fact as I haven't done the vampire side yet (Going to do it on the PC when it releases.) but Vampire Lords seem to be keen to Magicka. My basis for this is Vanilla Vampires are for the rogue, Werewolves for the warrior and nothing (In Vanilla.) for Mages. So the fact the Vampire lords can use magicka says to me they are for mages. Any other Beta tester want to correct me or say I am correct I ask that you please would. :)

Yes. There are some restoration spells that hurt undead among others. Earlier in this thread you can see the other spells put in. :)

Yes.

Use your Vampires Seduction power and then try to speak with them. The option to feed should pop up.

Necromage: Still effects you if you're a vampire (lord)?

Also if stage 4 vampirism no longer gets attacked, then what are the downsides to being a vampire in broad daylight? Still just the basic debuffs? (lower health, lower regen rates etc?)
And what does blocking out the sun actually do in a practical sense?

Blocking the sun takes away the No-regen rule for vamps and lets death hounds, gargoyles, and Vamps attack during the day as random encounters. No Reason to feed anymore people...SERIOUSLY

Aye, that it does (last I checked.)

None, pretty much, other than some wimpy debuffs... Yet I still can't turn into a werebearwolf in broad daylight without getting a bounty...

You still get lowered health/magicka/stamina and NO regen in the sun. Also, you still have resist frost/weakness to fire effects permanently, but thats about it.

shooting the sun using Auriel's Blow and the bloodbathed elven arrows temporarily blocks out the sun, and allows you to walk around in the daylight with no reduced stats/regen. both sides can do it at the end of the MQ if they choose to (unless this was exclusive to the beta, which I doubt)

Wait, they attack YOU or attack towns?
And I'm assuming the Necromage perk affects vampire lords then?

Spoiler

Soul tear- Allows you to trap the soul of a near death enemy and turn them into a thrall for a certain amount of time.

Call Durnevier- Allows you to summon a dragon whome teaches you soul tear each time you call him and assists in battle. Works like a conjuration spell so shout at the ground in a wide space! Also summons creatures to help in battle.

Drain vitality- drains health, stamina, and magicka from target. About one per second. Not sure how long it last thought I never used it or found the third wor

they attack towns and are random encounters. normal vamps and volkihar vamps dont typically get along very well.

I'm not positive on the necromage perk but it should

As far as I know, no. The reloading of old saves that existed as a fix previous to 1.5 (or 1.6?) no longer works IIRC

Thin-Bloods attack you anyways but Yeah the GGs and DHs are hostile anyways and i meant that random encounters out on the road are mostly these undead folk instead of typical wolves and such
