Questions for Beta Testers (I will answer them.) SPOILERS

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 4:16 am

Morning everyone. Let me just say that I was a Level 43 nord the first time I played through. I have archery, sneak, sword and shield. The game was beautiful, wonderful, breathtaking, and also sometimes scarry. It is filled with anticipation, thrills, adventures, ups and downs, cussing at the tv, hollaring and yelling at myself and the tv along with my dead body on the ground at least a dozen times.

You all will like the game, but do not be fooled. It is not really easy no matter what level you are at.

Someone mentioned the vampire lord path focuses on magic. Does this mean that being a vampire lord as a pure warrior (no points into magicka) would be difficult?

Turning named civilians into vamps or generic ones like the Dark Brotherhood forever?

Is there any link between the Dawnguard and Werewolves? I play with the Companions and sort of roleplay my character as being very in touch with his werewolf identity. Do the Dawnguard have any link to them or is the perk tree just a new addition?

Careful though, the turning quests are really buggy for me and i do not know if Beth fixed them
Luckily if will be fixed when the PS3 version comes along.

So, what are the new werewolf quests and what do these vampire artifacts do? Lore behind them?

You can re-enter the Soul Cairn, of course. When Serana gives you an ultimatum on entering it, she gives you the option of turning you a vampire to enter or soul trapping you (which gives you -50 to each health/magicka/stamina while in the Cairn. I highly suggest going the soul trap route, as once you're done with your quest in the Cairn you can retrieve your soul gem so that you no longer recieve the decrease in stats, and the next time you go to the Cairn you will be able to enter freely.
If you choose the vamp route, if you cure it you won't be able to enter the Cairn without becoming a Vamp again, as you'll take damage over time and fizzle up/burn.

No link, just a new tree.

They are pre-set NPCs that you may have seen before but had no previous significance.

My pure Rogue is still a boss as a VL and it is really all about the perks so you dont have to specialize in magic

I know Harkon calls Lycanthropy "filth". Son of a gun. Typical vampire elitism.

Not at all, you can still be very effective without ever putting a point into magicka. :) Also, there is a melee "stance" for the VL where you attack with your claws, as well. Perks and artifacts to boost your VL powers make up for any build playing the VL. You also get initial magicka boosts, too.

No relation but no hate either

No Lycan quests...just a perk tree which makes them super-epic. The artifacts are op...like a ring that adds 100 health...

You CANNOT marry serana, as far as we knew in the beta version.

However, you can cure her of her vampirism. However, whether or not she will get herself cured is highly dependant on the dialogue options you chose with her as you progressed through the questline. I personally was not able to cure her playing on the DG side, but I've heard of people doing so by being kind to her throughout the story.
If you cure her, does that mean she cannot turn you into a VL after the Mq?

Sorry if this has been asked, just came to mind:

Can you be a vampire AND a werewolf? Or do you have to choose?

You must choose one between the two.

Correct, you lose the option permanently once she's cured, so it's a roleplay route only. She loses her eye glow, but she does keep her Vampiric Drain spell. (The destruction one all vamps get)

What about this "frost ogres" we've seen in the trailer? Are they new enemies in the vanilla game, how hard is to beat them?

They're basically frost giants with much higher health/damage/etc. They're found in the Forgotten Vale, a landmass you find deeper into the main questlines. They also carry specific colored paragons, there are five of them scattered across various areas in the vale.

Frost Giants are part of the Forgotten Vale. They are like big, hairy, Giants.
