But it does real time combat, the devs of TESO said it can't be done
Gameinformer said it can't be done.

big flop, wasted money that could have been better spent on fixing and improving Skyrim...
It's a different studio, so no, it's not wasted money. Nor is it wasted time that could be used to fix Skyrim, because Todd and his team aren't involved in the mmo.

What I don't understand is this: Why would the original fan base be mad? Bethesda is less involed in this MMO than they were involved in Fallout New Vegas.

Spears and throwing knives.

Well, for once, the chances of them implementing these are high.

How I see Elder Scrolls Online:
-Huge Commercial Flop
-Original fan base mad as hell
-300 Million Dollars
-5 years in development for a WoW clone
-Everyone is mad

I agree with you if the single player game is abandoned. However I don't think that will happen with the success of Skyrim. As long as my single player experiences are a not baddly effect I don't really care except I get a perverse joy at failing MMOs because I hate the genre so much.

Basically if nothing happens to the core TES games , I don't care. If they convert they've lost my entire family. ( we're insane and have to have all the TES games on all our PCs so buy multiple copies.)

-judging something before it even releases hard core facts. I doubt the links people gave us are legitimate. But frankly I don't care since people will say 'you are [censored] you are wrong' to me when clearely I am using common sense instead of judging and speculating.

If you were actually using common sense, it would occur to you that the scans were leaked just two hours after the official announcement, and the amount of pages and level of detailed description would be virtually impossible to pull off in that time frame.

But hey, if plugging your ears and doing the equivalent of "lalala, can't hear you" makes you feel better, go for it.

It's absolutely staggering to me that people can write descriptions of the game that are more in-depth and detailed than the only existing preview of the game.

You guys really ought to put those psychic abilities to use on the stock market, because they're wasted on trivial pursuits like warning the world about how a game you've never played is already a WoW-clone.

To me it sounds like they went out and hired some people who are MMO so called experts and let them go for it. I think it wouldve been better for the team on the current games to learn how to do and keep the TES feel and flavor then to just have DAOC with TES lore added on as a second thought.

Its probably too late for them to make major changes to the game. They are betting the farm on this one.

A priori the success of WoW has:
Product quality
The simplicity of the game ...... Quick Start
a world with a background
But the big think that WoW give.... is to have won a customer aged 25 to 60 years .. thats why there is 10 million of customer
Do you work for Zenimax Online? I think they went through the same thought process.

"Team, we can either make a brand new MMO based on the much-loved TES gameplay mechanics and evolve the genre...

Or we can copy WoW because they have 10 million subscribers from all age ranges! And because money!"

The devs also said player housing in an MMO can't be done. I'm guessing most of them just graduated.

From high school.

The best way to add housing is to have it instanced. Even old games like Anarchy Online had instanced housing.

This game sounds A LOT like guild wars 2 and it will be compared to that game. Will this game be free to play like that one?

Well, Star Wars Galaxies had completely open player-owned housing.

Yeah so let's make one more typical to death mainstream game for the sake of it because money don't stink!

I'm sorry. Would you prefer that developers follow the example of one of the most widely-acknowledged failures of all time?

I see nowhere that they are asking for any suggestions for their new MMO. The developers havent even introduced themselves to the gaming community.

Its a top secret clone of other MMOs. Why be so secretive when you offer no new ideas?

Based on the reaction of some of the fans to this, I can fully understand why the development team wouldn't feel compelled to pop in and say, "Hello."

They've already released information about features that distinguish this game from other MMOs, but why focus on those when you can make stuff up?

200 dungeons ....
I'm not entirely sure I understand this... That's a ridiculously small amount of dungeons...

At the start they should say hello. They want no imput from fans. Good luck running a MMO with a player base of angry gamers. The MMO gamer is the hardest to satisfy

Thankfully this is the second post. I agree. Zenimax need to be aware of the HUGE numbers of people who don't want this and if we have no choice, go back and make something unique and will appeal to TES players

I'm not entirely sure I understand this... That's a ridiculously small amount of dungeons...
Yeah i'd expect;
-Open world sandbox provinces the size/if not bigger than single player ones.
-Over 100+ dungeons per province (Skyrim, Cyrodill etc)
-Unique instances that are not counted as dungeons (Doing to a deadric realm for an epic mission as an example)
-No levels, level like elder scrolls
-non-hotkey system
-non-cartoon generic high fantasy art style
-different timeperiod (couldn't they have done the 1st Era where no one knows about? That could have made for truly epic storytelling)
-Lore that makes sense
-Aim at the core TES single player fans before you go for a 'typical' mmo
-First person combat like TES

Sadly.. they decided to do something completely bland. You've had 5 years to make something truly wonderful and you've blown it so far.

Agreed.

I wonder how many of them will join the official community site (once it is up) to make a new topic everyday explaining their annoyance again, and again, and again.
