That's just bull. It's not our fault that you chose to buy a crappy platform. Of course developers should take full advantage of a platforms capabilities when developing a game. Anything else is just [censored]. Why the [censored] should they dumb down the PC graphics just because the 360 can't keep up? Doesn't make any sense.

That said, I think it looks amazing. I don't really understand what people were expecting. Crysis/Uncharted? This is a [censored] open-world game with 300+ hours of gameplay. Did you really expect the graphics to be next-gen?

I understand the ignorance of this post. But valid, somehow.

I'd say your benchmarks are stricter than mine. Also you're in the know tech wise, which I'm not.
Stil, those maxed out PC screens look darn amazing to me!

The way i see it - judgeing from youtube vids - it goes like this:

Dark Souls: terrible, terrible art direction. Creature design is atrocious. Visually very uninspired and primitive.

Reckoning - Kingdoms of Amalur: Dreadful art direction. Creature design is plain awful. Tech wise, Skyrim looks far more advanced to my untrained eyes.

The Witcher 2. It beats SKyrim hands down tech wise. No question about it. But SKyrim has the upper hand with its unmatched art direction.

So here you go. My jaw dropped as I saw those maxed out PC screens.

Thanks for this. Doesn't look too too bad. Maybe a bit muddy on mid-range detail. I bet it looks better in-game (so easy to nit-pic screens).

Of course they look cool, they look great! But not as great as most of the PC world would hope for, in comparison with the PS3 version.

I've played PC games all my life with good systems, and i also own a 360 for my 42 inch plasma. And i agree with you.
Heck, my tv is even only 1024x768, i'm not [censored]ting you, it's a weird early samsung model yet it has amazing clarity and color vibrance.

And i'll be perfectly honest when i say that i think many 360 games look much better than many pc games. In fact i consider Forza 4 to be the most beautiful and graphically perfect game i've ever seen in my life. (in terms of clarity, reflections and lighting, lack of artifacts, aliasing and blahblah).
I've played PC games like Crysis 2, Witcher 2 etc. on max settings, i've played them all. I still stand by my opinion that many console games do in fact look equally good to the PC counterpart.

Everyone can flame me and talk about facts and give me hardware numbers and say how many years old the hardware on the consoles are, i dont care. It wont make any difference to my perception nor to what my eyes see. My eyes see gorgeous graphics on the consoles in nearly every game, my eyes see the same on the PC yet many PC games are released as buggy unfinished pieces of junk with massive graphical bugs. So..

Flame ahead, i can't deny what my eyes see. And if there's something wrong with my eyes or the way my brain percieves images on a tv compared to a monitor, so be it. At least it is in a positive way.
Upgrading my PC for 600 dollars is NOT worth it, i do not get as big an improvement in graphics to make up for spending three times the money of a console. I just dont. It doesnt look 3 times better, not even 2 times.

I think Elder scrolls [censored] are some of the worst on the net ES is AWESOME, love it but saying dark Souls is primitive is a blind really devoted fan. THERE are other great RPG's besides skyrim. Dark Souls was all about Online, Combat, exploration in a brutal and very impressive interconnected world.

Is it the need to justify their choice of platform with a bunch of people they don't know? Even if someone is apparently wrong about what they've said, why can't everyone else just let them believe what they want?

Now why does that sword look so shoddy? I also saw a PC gameplay vid where everything looked great except the shield in your hand which was much worse than the sword shown here. Is this an error? Or is it supposed to be out of focus as we're looking ahead?

trust me I am playing it right now and it looks pretty close to these screens......truely amazing!

The main problem with all the PC shots I've seen so far is no transparency anti-aliasing. Can someone try to activate FXAA in their Skyrim.ini while multi-sampling is enabled and post a screenshot if it works? (Or, alternatively, force transparency supersampling - but whatever works.)

Dont care about console/PC lulz, I just would like more ultra settings screens
