I don't have a higher-level mage char atm, so I couldn't test a Fireball spell.
I tried the standard fire spell you get at the start and this one worked fine.
Sorry, that's all I can do right now.

Edit:
If someone can tell me the necessary console commands to aquire and use a fireball spell, I will happily test it.

If you have an nvidia card, the 290.53 http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-290.53-beta-driver.html and http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5077-nvidia-inspector.html then you can set the maximum framerate from within nvidiainspector, it's under the 'Common' section and called Frame Rate Limiter.

And as this is my first post, thanx to Alexander for the time spent on Skyboost : )

I get random blue screens with r4, but then I am overclocking my i7 870 @ 4Mhz. I don't get them with r3 though and I'm quite happy with the performance boost that gives me.

Thanx.

Just tested all kinds of fire related spells and staves on Intel C2D E6550 + GTX 560 + Vista 32, but no problems with either R4 FPU or SSE2.

After the release r4, crashes happen on the desktop because of the stop the video driver. Catalyst 11.12
After returning to version r3 crashes ceased.

Alexander, please, try my save. I've started playing on the initial patch of Skyrim (something like 1.1) and installed all patches up to 1.3.10 in series.
Probably, this is a reason of my crashes? But, there is no any problem without SkyBoost installed.

don't blame the optimisations for a bad video driver.

Just out of professional curiosity.

How does something like this work.

From the source code I think I get that (simplified) you look for the parts of skyrim.exe you want to replace in RAM and after that overcopy them with optimized cody.

However what I don't understand is how do you get the optimized code? Is it precompiled bytearrays in adress...h (and if so where do they come from) or is the code assembled on load time from the assembler code in func...h

Hope someone can answer me that (2nd semester CS student here :) )

What's the difference between FPU and SSE2 other than the compatibility?

Nobody even try this.
But, is a fact, that game crashes with SkyBoost and works good without.

Shadowmann
It is interesting because someone other will definitely get the same bug activated . Anyway the worst thing skyboost can do is CTD , not BSOD

I've actually been getting CTD's lately the past 2 days and I was on r3 then. Though I'm highly sure that's related to something else. So far, r4 is running fine, but my CTD are most likely the same thing that's been causing it lately. r3 has never given me problems, in fact, it's been a Godsend! I'm sure r4 is nice.

{edit} I know what I just said was probably completely useless information. carry on.

I can't even load the save. I think the problem may be the size of the save. Save game bloat is known to cause strange things.

Do you have any modifications installed? If you do, try removing them by simply moving Textures and Meshes folders somewhere else and deactiving any loaded data files.

newt111, the game is mainly finished. Only the Winterhold Collegue Master stages are'nt done. I don't think, that another gamer on the same stage of the game may have significantly smaller saves.

If you do, try removing them by simply moving Textures and Meshes folders somewhere else and deactiving any loaded data files.
I'm already do that before checking the mod and giving the save. I get CTD 3 times with all mods disabled from the save you can see three posts higher.

2 ALL: don't bother with this. If this is only my own bug - no problem. Forget it. Another thing, if this is a problem of the mod.

r4 crashed after several minutes of playing. Also it seems that during play with this mod autosave/quicksave didn't work.

I used fpu version, no any other mods, PC configuration:
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
Asus M4A87TD Evo
Kingston 4Gb DDR 3 x 2
Palit GeForce GT 240
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
