Description
Boosts your Skyrim via replacing most bottleneck code parts in the executable at runtime.

Changes
r4: -- current test version
- Boost is separated to fpu and sse2 versions
- Gained few fps
r3:
- More performance
r2:
- Fixed SkyUI compatibility bug
- Stability improvements
r1:
- First beta release based on Acceleration layer from Arisu
- Some code improvements comparing to Acceleration layer
- Fixed all Acceleration layer bugs

Installation
- Make sure that you are not using TESVAL (delete "Skyrim_dir\Data\SKSE\Plugins\TESVAL.dll")
- Copy "dinput8.dll" and "SkyBoost.asi" from "bin" folder to Skyrim dir (dinput8.dll is the same as in ScriptDragon)
- Play !

Compatibility
Fully compactible with TESV.exe version:
- 1.3.10.0 crypted steam
- 1.3.10.0 crypted steam rus

Notes
- In order to run SkyBoost your CPU must support SSE2
- Steam can make an update anytime so make the copy of TESV.exe to use SkyBoost after new patch outs because it will take a while to make SkyBoost update

Credits
- Arisu -- Acceleration layer developer
- Alexander Blade -- SkyBoost developer

From the last thread...
I am using the current revision 4 sse, and it starts out great but I noticed the longer I play the more the game starts to studder and lose fps dramaticly. Probably about an hour or so of playing.
Possibly running out of video memory? What's your GPU and graphics settings?

You should be using the fpu version with an AMD cpu. Should at least try both, see which gives better results (my guess is the fpu version).

I also have an AMD, a Phenom II x4, and sse2 is performing better than fpu for me, yup, kinda strange, but I suspect a higher number of clock cycles for fpu instructions.

repost from previous thread...sorry Alex!

With a whole lot of textures running on an i7 860 and 5850 GPU:

Ultra Settings with only grass dialed back on the distance faders. 2XAA and 16AF

Dragonreach Stairs staring at that infernal tree!

Vanilla: Somewhere down below 20(don't care to go back and check)

R3: 27fps

R4 - sse2 version: 30fps

Solid work!!

btw. Checked Process Explorer and my GPU was running 55% or so with 960Mb of VRAM occupied with R3
With R4 it went up to 60-65%

Haven't did much yet, but no crashes running around Whiterun.

Hmm... may have to give SSE2 a try then...

Wow, just tried out R4 and getting about 5-7 more FPS in Dragonreach than I did with R3! Getting 36 fps looking down on Whiterun with ENBSeries and SMAA (which is amazing)! Using an AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2ghz

So far no crashes. I seem to be stuttering more, though.

r3 - smooth in the wilderness
r4 - no fps loss, but stutters.

hmmm can anyone help me??i'm using FPU on vanilla...so it's like this:

1. put FPU r4 (latest) play the game..got increased FPS to 37-46 on understone keep, markarth
2. quit the game
3. play the game again, with no changes made,my FPS dropped to 32-39 (same spot)
4. quit the game and play it again but this time...sometimes the FPS went normal sometimes it dropped and it's very random..

is this a memory leak??

Hello all!
i just signed up to post
want to thank Mr. A - Blade
in medieval time maybe they would have u appointed as a local baron for your work with skyboost!
R4 is faster than R3 approx 2 - 3 fps for me
Kudos and praises!
by the way that prayer from Tehol was no short of a genius too!

So yesterday I made a few changes to my setup. I overclocked my i7 2600k to 4.4ghz, disabled hyperthreading, and upgraded to rev.4 of SkyBoost (sse2 of course).

I'm now running at a constant 60fps, even in Whiterun. I run with a ugridstoload value of 9, and still see framerates of 60fps outdoors. I occasionally see a drop to the mid 50s during cell loads momentarily, but I wouldn't notice it if it weren't for the fraps counter. All settings at ultra except shadows. 8xAA and FXAA.

Thank you so much! Overclocking alone wouldn't have achieved this result. It's your continued progress with SkyBoost that has made this possible. I really can't thank you enough!

I am still trying to figure out why Tesval produces less stutter than vanilla for me, R2 has slightly more stutter, more framerate, R3 has slightly more stutter and more framerate, and R4 has slightly more stutter again, and slightly more framerate.

Changing my memory settings in the ini does not help at all unless i use tesval or vanilla. The stutter in skyboost seems to persist.

And it's not microstutter, it's traditional game stutter - as it loads in new cells. (I get microstutter as well, but that's having an amd card, the two are easy to identify apart)

Skse injection is somehow more transparent and avoids stutter?

For example, i can run for about 5 minutes (been boosting my stamina), and pass through about 10 cells. And tesval/vanilla does not a single hickup (except for initial game load), whereas skyboost seems to treat each cell as an entity or something.

That's why some people use tesval and skyboost together. Although it's a bad idea, since they both inject a lot of the same code - i imagine from the same points.

Without knowing more about the inner workings of each, all i can report is my findings on this....

R4 SSE2 is working fine for me, no CTD's on a Q6600 @ 3GHz, running enb (no SSAO) but still getting 28fps on whiterun steps, great work, now just need a few more fps so I can run SSAO ;)

Hi Darkstorne. Might I ask why you disabled hyperthreading? Does that increase performance for Skyrim? I haven't heard of that one before. If there's still more performance to be squeezed out of this game I want to give it a try!

R4 is giving real fps boost now :) R1, 2 and 3 not so much though.
But even with R4 the (mouse)-movement micro-stutter stays. With the SKSE mod that stutter is not there.
But it's kinda weird: with R4 FPS is noticeable higher. When I don't move it's for example 45fps. But when I start walking/running or looking around with mouse, it all micro stutters even though the FPS stays at 45?
With the SKSE mod I get less (40fps) at the same scene but the micro stutter when moving and looking around is gone.

the point of stuttering is fps difference , if u limit ur fps to 30 , you wont have any stutters in most cases

Purely for OCing. Though some people have reported extra stability / smoother gameplay in Skyrim with hyperthreading disabled, I'm pretty sure that's just placebo effect.

Disabling hyperthreading reduces the heat generated by your CPU slightly, making it slightly easier to overclock and keep a well cooled system. That's the only reason I disabled it. But hey, maybe it did help! Who knows? :P
