What is a mod supposed to say? They have no influence or input from Bethesda other than anthing Gstaff might post on a whim.
The ridiculous claim that such and such game broke my ps3 goes on in every single popular game on the market. ALL of them broke your ps3.
Just because you were playing Skyrim when yours went belly up doesn't mean Skyrim added anything in particular to your kettle of pos stew.
Blame Sony before you blame anyone else.
The ps3 is terrible in this regard and Sony has redesigned it several times because of it.
My fat 40 gave up after just a year of gentle playing. The bad design of the Laser mount was at fault and I threw the stupid PS3 in the trash and bough a newer design.
Unfortunately these consoles wear out. HDs crash all the time. Ask any pc user. I've had Video cards, HDs, sound cards, you name it... they all break.
It wasn't skyrim and it's just silly to blame the game.
Of course games cause stress on our PS3... So stop playing games. There's your answer.
If youn want a game cconsole with heat and moving parts, you are gonna have to live with the fact that they break down.
My car's engine needs gasoline to work. I fill up the tank in various gas stations during it's life. One day I put gasoline from a gas station far away from where I live and a few miles further my engine malfunctions. Things break I say, it just happened to be now. My mechanic took the car and after repairing it he told me that the gasoline in it's tank was dilluted with water and bad gas will damage the engine. Should I blame the car manufacturer or the aging engine?
Skyrim interacts with your harddrive. All games do. None of my games that have frozen in the past a couple of times here and there caused any corruption. Skyrim, a game with a faulty game engine has brought up warning messages for file checking.
Skyrim shouldn't freeze or lag. It does. If the system's well being is compromized by freezes, resourse taxing caused by lag, improper shutdowns, then it is still Skyrim's fault!
