Skyrim just blew my PS3 out

Bethesda already knows that many people are getting corrupted files with Skyrim, where have you been?

What the above quote you replied to states, is exactly how a poorly proper coded game engine can destroy the SPEs inside a playstation 3 buddy :foodndrink:
By SPE you mean the processing element, correct?

Eabee said that his hard-drive was corrupted, that's got nothing to do with the SPEs.

I just bought this PS3 four months ago. A ticking time bomb you say?

Then it's still under warranty, get it replaced. Also I've seen you ranting about random freezes on here for days now, if you saw repeated freezes on your system and yet you continued to play the game causing those freezes without backing up your other data, well... Bad idea on your part, sorry.

Ya, shame on you for trying to play this game that you paid for like you would any other game ever. It freezes once throw it away.

1. not enough testing was done for the PS3
2. game files that become corrupt do indeed hurt Hard drives
3. Over heating in any manner can indeed hurt hard drives.
4. Skyrim's hard performance is in fact hurting PS3's

it seems like the either didnt care/know it was going to do this much damage. I think they may be able to fix it with patches will they? IDK. Or maybe issue a recall and release a working version. i feel the11/11/11 date was a big factor.

ya, ppls systems break down everyday. Just because it happens during a certain game, they decide to blame it on that game to dis it, along with many others. People prbly say this about MW3 and BF3, Oblivion, anything. Dont blame the game just cuz ur upset with it. :cookie:

Would you like my to record my PS3 getting re-blown out? Like, record a video of my game crashing and then rebooting into recovery mode??? I don' think it's possible at this point. How can you d!ck-ride Bethesda like this? SERIOUSLY????

Until you can prove it, this is just noise.

It's like this; suppose you are a truck driver and drive all over the country, now suppose you get a job from company x and your truck breaks down.

Did company x cause your truck to break? No.

It really svcks that your PS3 broke, as someone who couldn't afford to replace a broken PS3 I totally get your frustration and maybe even sadness, and clearly anger.

BUUUUT, you have to look at this from a scientific standpoint(well you don't have to, but I will). When you say that this is happening to "countless" people is that because it is a large number or because you haven't actually counted anything? You have to be able to prove something like that. You can't just say this broke that. You can speculate and take shots in the dark all you want. But the fact is that unless it can be proven using well-founded theory or past studies or research or evidence I'm just going to assume that you're pissed about your PS3 breaking and need something to blame.

Maybe Bethesda is part of the Illuminati. Only someone like the Illuminati would [flip] you over so hard like this.

[I [censored] love] you Bethesda, [I love] you. I want [you to have] my damn money back for this [Awesome Game!]. My game will be returned [to my disk drive] TOMORROW.

its more like you are a truck driver and then the new company takes your truck puts on a trailer that over works your engine without telling you and then your truck breaks down.
did company x cause your truck to break? yes

Keep in mind that while some may be claiming that their ps3 is broken because of skyrim, only about half of those are probably true. A lot of pissed off ps3 gamers that want to blame anything that goes wrong on skyrim, not to mention some probably making the whole thing up.

Not saying that the OP falls into either of these, but just something to keep in mind, when you say that there are tons of people with broken ps3s because of skyrim.

Gotta admit, I lol'd.

But in all seriousness..... this game blew my PS3 out. It literally rumbled and froze. A little disturbing. This disc will not enter my console until further notice of a patch.

Hopefully this thread is a heads-up.

Guys, don't put Skyrim in. It will blow your PS3 out.

Until you can prove it, this is just noise.

Hey man next time I promise to have my iPhone on record at all times if I ever decide to play this buggy game again. Maybe then I can get some sweet crash footage, of course of my PS3 getting blown out.

Well I keep hearing this alot and as someone who cant afford a new PS3 if it breaks I am strongly thinking of putting the game down. But since I dont actually have too many issues but lag every once in awhile I am also thinking of doing this after I finish the main quest which will be after i finish The Civil War questline.

Also if the OP has been constantly making threads about the game freezing their PS3 than OP problay shouldve put the game down when he saw it freezing alot. Like I said before just because you like the game dont tough it out with the freezes when it freezes constantly, I am not tech expert but its common sense constantly turning something on and off will break said device. Your light bulb breaks when your kids flicker with the switch because they thought it would be fun, heck you problay did that as a kid too. So if this is the case that I have explain than it is OPs fault his PS3 broke and not Skyrims.

Me(OP) has never posted any threads other than this complaining about my game freezing and crashing. Nor did I expect my HD to become corrupted. Skimming to the end of this paragraph, in short, it is not my fault a game has been released that is so faulty it kills systems.
