Skyrim just made me want to play Oblivion

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 2:14 pm

About 30 hours into Skyrim I got a big craving to play Oblivion, so I downloaded a few mods (Oblivion XP and some other's) and started a new adventure in an old game.

Did this happen to anyone else?

When I'm done with Skyrim (which, at this rate, could be years), I will start a new character on Oblivion probably.

Nah, its way better than oblivion. Morrowind is cool though, still just as good as it ever was.
I would love to see morrowind with Skyrim graphics.

It happened to me, but I kind of just blamed it on the fact I just got Oblivion on PC recently (On the sale that happened a week ago I believe) and I just tend to ignore it. Everytime I have gone and played Oblivion I got bored in about 10 minutes and wanted to play Skyrim. It's the weirdest thing.

Edit: And actually now that I think of it I wanted to play New Vegas when I play Skyrim more then I want to play Oblivion, and Fallout 3 more then that.

I remember saying to a friend of mine shortly after Skyrim came out, "You know what I like about Skyrim? No Oblivion Gates everywhere."

I'll probably never go back to Oblivion, but Morrowind and Daggerfall still keep my interest.

No...for me, this game is far too superior in gameplay and graphics to warrant a jump back. Besides, I played it to *death* over multiple systems.

Nope. Skyrim just made me want to play more Skyrim.

There's no way that I can ever go back to those horrible Bosmer in Oblivion. No. Way.

Yes, I have moments when I crave the more restful, bucolic atmosphere of Cyrodiil. I long to see green grass, flowers, rolling hills...

If skyrim is making you want to play oblivion of all games, then you have serious problems. Morrowind however, I can understand.

Playing Skyrim has made me want to uninstall Oblivion. I have no desire to play it any more, mods or no mods.

And to think, Skyrim will have its own boatload of mods soon.

I agree, Dragons everywhere is a lot more fun than Oblivion Gates that spawn 2-3 guys that hang around, great invasion force, right?

Not sure I could go back to Oblivion....one of the things I've noticed that Skyrim much improves over is the actual cinematic feel of the game. If you go back and play OB, (which I did just briefly), it's a little comical in comparison.

I never played Morrowind but might give it a try,,,doubtful though given that there will be DLC for Skyrim...a patch or two and that game will be super awesome...not that it isn't already.

I think it's the opposite for me, Skyrim made me never want to touch Oblivion again.

Skyrim. 60 hours of Skyrim makes me wish for a MORE SKYRIM.

Hell, I spent 300 hours in Oblivion... I focus on the bad over there now... so I can't go back!
