If they attempt reboot I will have to burn all the copies I find in a fire.

Rebellion was pretty good if you could keep up with its pace. Not sure if making the game real time was the greatest idea, traditionally 4X games are turn based, and for a very good reason. Unfortunately I haven't been able to install the game since upgrading to 64 bit operating systems, which is a shame as I'd really like to give it another go. Sadly I don't think anyone has bothered to program a 64 bit installer for Rebellion like they have for Jedi Knight and its expansion.
True, it was pretty relentless. In fact, all the constant clicking nearly gave me RSI (no joke.) I don't think I'd play with a huge galaxy anymore, it's just too much busywork. :P

I did get it working on Vista 64 using this method though:

'm playing Rebellion (or in my case Supremacy) on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit RTM with no problems (and not using XP mode).

What I did is as follows:

1. Copy everything from the Rebellion/Supremacy folder on the CD to "C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion"
2. Download the file in the first post at: http://www.swrebellion.com/forums/postt3937.html
3. Extract the downloaded file.
3. Right click the Rebellion_x64.reg file and click merge. (If your program files is on a different drive you'll need to edit this reg file)
4. Copy the files d3drm.dll and REBEXE.exe to "C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion"
5. Create a folder called "SaveGame"
6. Run the game (REBEXE.exe) as an administrator.

Everything worked for me first time. I have the problem where I can't skip the briefing but the space battles seem to work fine.

Note that I've only played the game for a few minutes before posting this so I may run into problems later.

NO! No damned reboot. Do 7, 8, 9 and if it goes well 10, 11, 12. Then put OT away and never consider making another one ever again.
That's the Eragon cast. I was hoping someone would pick up on the reference.

What the hell is there to lose? Star Wars has been a kiddie franchise for 20 + years now. Disney at the helm makes perfect sense.

Ah, thanks for this it actually worked. I couldn't find anything like this when I last searched for a method to get the game running on Windows 7 64 bit.

Looks like LucasFilms wasn't Disney's last attempt. They are in talks with Hasbro to buy them out as well and gain access to Transformers, G.I. Joe, Magic The Gathering, the My Little Pony Franchise, and other aspects of Hasbro.

There is currently a talk going over on the main site that fans of the MLPFIM culminate around, however, to spare those who don't like the show http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JakeLester/news/?a=69682. (The link is obtained from the Equestria Daily Site)

At the moment, the most concerning this is the fan base created material since Hasbro has been quite lenient with the "Brony" community. Disney, as many of us know, rules with quite the 3 fingered iron fist, pushing C&Ds rapidly where they see fit. Starting to wonder what else they are in talks about of buying up to assume control of the world alongside google, Microsoft (yes I know good joke there), Apple, and other mega corporations.

I took a quick look and Disney's current possible market value is $55 billion.

So, what else should Disney try to acquire? Wonder if they'll go after Zenimax to start making Mickey Mouse Fallout games?

Too bad that they introduced a new rule that would prevent people from owning more than 10% of their stock due to some other billionaire trying a hostile takeover.

Oh god no... if they get dungeons and dragons you can bet they will kill off the creative commons and all sorts of stuff that allows us to create and share our own things.

Earlier in the thread, I said Disney will probably look at buying Hasbro, for obvious reasons...and as it turns out, it seems speculation is suggesting that they might actually be considering acquiring Hasbro: http://geek-news.mtv.com/2012/11/05/disney-buying-hasbro/

Good god no... this is the end of all things. Wizards [censored] up dnd 4th edition because they felt it was small enough to them that it could warrant it. What the hell is Disney going to do to it? They are way up there eon the food chain. If something happens to the great grandfather of all rpg games paper, book, and video game I am going to be seriously angry.

Wreck-It-Ralph RPG. So we can take on the roles of video game characters in a massive cross over universe. Disney isn't big on people making their own things, that's the essence of DnD. I doubt we'll ever see them do a tabletop rpg. Even if they acquire them I think they will all be shut down for a lack of market.

Just read that Michael Arndt, screenwriter of Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine (for which he won an Oscar) has supposedly written a 40-odd page treatment for the next three films, and that both Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher have expressed interest in reprising their roles, which along with Luke will be returning as much older characters.

Rumors so far only, but it paints an intriguing picture.

Gee... exactly what I said. It's almost like I'm some sort of... you know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-klQ-kpq98I'm not in the clear yet though, this is just a rumor after all. Though my bets on at least Mark Hamil making a come back, the minimum.

It's a good thing I don't give a damn about ep. 1, 2 & 3.

Now I can sit back and enjoy Jeanette McCurdy & Miley Cyrus fighting each other with pink lightsabers.
