Bleh, sorta wish I got it from Steam so I could start playing right as the bell strikes midnight. But I traded in Gears3 and Batman:AC so I'm getting PC Skyrim practically for free at Gamestop.
For this reason, I hope in the future, you can pre-order a Collectors Edition online, be e-mailed the CD-Key, enter it in Steam to get it right away, then later in the mail get the goodies of CE.

I don't see the option to pre-load after re-starting Steam. I also get the 'servers too busy' error when trying to pre-load manually. I'll have to try again later I guess.

Make sure you restart your Steam to get the pre-load button. It wasn't showing up for me until I completely restarted Steam.

It's almost time! :celebration:

:excl: Question: If steam closes unexpectedly, if there's a power failure and your PC turns off...

do your files get corrupted or does steam just pick up from where it left off and everything will be okay?

No file corruption, nothing?

yea not just exit out of the brower, exit out of the entire steam application and then boot it back up. plus servers could be overloading with all us on the forums :D

Mine preloading ok -- no prob at first attempt, 5:20 pm Pacific Time. Pretty slow though, 300 to 350 KB/S or so. & I have 20 MB internet. I guess it's busy up there!

Argh enough waiting already!!!!!!!!

It should pick up where it left off but you should verify the files when it's done.

Umm... I bought the game on Steam, I live in the US and I see no option to pre-load. In steam I jsut see news and on the website it has a new thing that just says I own the game. Thats it no Pre-load Option. What am I missing?

You may have to shut down steam and relaunch it. Mine didnt show preload availability until after i had done so.

From my past experience, Steam will generally do a quick scan for corruption and then pick up where it left off.

If you check the http://store.steampowered.com/stats/content/ page that should show you if your regions servers are being overloaded - if so try going to Steam->settings at the top left of the client, then in the Downloads+Cloud tab, switching to a different download region.
