I just started the download about 10 minutes ago. If the current average speed is maintained, the game will finish downloading sometime around 1am (but of course, won't unlock till Friday morning, but that's ok; I hope the day 1 patch gets downloaded at like 6 or 8am, so it's already installed at the time the game unlocks).

Odd, it says nothing when you right click the skyrim in your library ? Mine @ first had 5 options then restart it had a sixth view preload info.

Yeah, it's kind of disappointing - it appears you have to restart Steam in order to get the pre-load option to appear.

Yeah, try closing/restarting Steam, like the others said. R-click on the title and it should be one of the list options.

My downloads have been coming at around 600-800kB/s, so I'm not too sad. Sorry you're getting a slower download. Maybe you got connected to a bad server or something? Dunno. I suppose in the end, all that matters is that it finishes loading (and patching) before Friday morning, which even at 128kB/s, shouldn't be a problem, since you have 2 days.

looking at the install folder in \steamapps\common\skyrim\, looks like the good old .INI files are still there, along with the BSAs in \data (they're all still encrypted of course).

interesting... looks like the PC version texture BSA is only 400 megs more than on the Xbox, but the PC meshes are 730 megs more, nearly double the size!!!

can't wait too see the difference (and tweak the hell out of the .ini files!)
