I have seen some weird things...

I found a burned house and a dead Mage wanting to summon a Fire Atronach, hope that is right
another burned house (common theme) and a women being attack by bandits
And my favorite, "When Rabbits Attack", I was attacked once by three rabbits. I didn't even provoke them.
"When Mammoths Fly", seen a Mammoth fall out of the sky. ( No dragon around and it lived )

Talking about a strange encounter...

I had Delphine go all berserk on me, because I accidentally hit an Orc on the road, trying to kill an Icewraith (I hate those creatures). Then Illia, my follower, and Delphine started fighting and wouldn't stop! (Illia kicked her butt! haha) I had to re-load a previous save, since Delphine wouldn't stop attacking me... the freak!

- The lady who wanted to get Wabbajacked. Turned her into a bunny and she happily skipped away.
- Boethiah Cultists vs. Vampire Mistwalker vs. some random packs of crabs and wolf vs. A Vigilant of Stendarr vs. me
- Seeing that werewolf Sinding peacefully walking near Riverwood. In daylight. In a werewolf form. Politely greeting me as he went. D:
- Some books or weapons in the sky at certain specific locations. No horses for me, though!
- A few nobles riding a horse. This game makes riding a horse a living :obliviongate: for NPCs. Sooo buggy.
- A Multinational Redguard Farmer, who has relatives in Cyrodiil, going to Windhelm to join the Stormcloaks..........

I was walking along the road from whiterun to rorikstead not paying attention to anything when a dragon with a giant standing on its back come flying out of the ground.

This is the only thing to ever give me a fright in skyrim it was the last thing i ever expected to happen lol.

If you follow the road west from Whiterun, past the watchtower, and keep an eye out to your right, you'll come across a small pool with a handful of mudcrabs and one HUGE (nearly bear sized) mudcrab shaped rock/statue. If you get to Rorikstead you've gone too far.

I was in Ragnvald on my latest char, and was looting the first two drauger I came across when I heard running footsteps and saw that I was detected. I looked up and saw an Imperial courier run right past me heading in the direction of the exit. I stood there wondering how he ever got in the dungeon?!

I've ran into a burned cart with a burned corpse and dead horses around it. Nothing of any real value there, nor anyone nearby, just very very creepy. I always encounter it in the middle of the night. :unsure2:
I ran into a similar situation, but there was a dragon around, so i assumed it was a random dragon encounter. I also found the orc with the skooma, but never the OP event. There is also a "Challenger" that .... well what else, challenges you at some point if you join the college of winterhold.

I've had most of the encounter posted here so far. One I have not seen posted was running into a Scavenger wearing a mix of Imperial and Stormcloak gear. Some dead Imperial soldiers and Stormcloaks nearby as well.

Saw that one too, except he was alive and really tough to beat!!!

The Argonian that you meet after "A night to remember" is my favorite.

Yeah, that one was great

I've seen a lot of these random encounters and saw some only on Youtube.

One I did like was a 'Low Level Dragon VS Giant' type of thing. Found one right on the road (Where you found Imperials with Stormcloak Prisoner for the first time). The funny thing is, the Dragon and Giant was fighting then the Whiterun guards came up, shooting arrows.. I thought that was fun.

I also like getting the crazy Wabbajack girl. I once used Wabbajack on her and she turned into a Dremora Valkynaz (That can NEVER die) and the game glitched on me and she stayed in that form forever.... I had a Dremora chasing me everywhere that I can't kill til I reload.

Found the looter yesterday picking over the corpses of an Imperial/Stormcloak patrol clash. He was wearing a stormcloak cuirass and an imperial helment. Didn't like me crashing his gig, though, and attacked. That didn't end well for him.

I wandered into this fort and found the daedric prince Sanguine in an epic battle with four high level mages.

I suspect its a glitch introduced by the latest patch. If you've done that daedric quest already return to Morvanskyr and see if Sanguine is now in there battling all the mages.

It's not due to the last patch, since I've had the same thing when we were still at patch 1.3. Not at Morvanskyr 'though. I had already done Sanguine's quest a while ago, and had to return to the fort for another fetch quest. He'd killed everyone on the same floor (and only three other enemies were on the first floor, versus about seven necro's on Sanguine's floor), so that was quite helpful.

When I was following Barbas, a fox ran up beside him and they both ran around, playing together. The fox wasn't even scared of me.

Is this site laggy right now? I just got some popup spam for Steam.

i found a random dead alchemist in the middle of a small pool on top of a rock formation, right in front of a small waterfall. I think it was in the river to the west of rorikstead, seemed random to me.

I encountered a blood dragon near Dawnstar. Funny thing was it wasn't alone - there were also in the battle a snow troll, khajiit traders, miners, giant and two horkers. And all others but traders and miners were hostile immediately. It felt like everyone trying to kill everyone.

He's on the road between Helgen and Riverwood, at least every time I've seen him. I don't think he's part of any quest, though. I did have a mage run up to me in Whiterun like a courier, asking to taught something about wards. I'm a warrior type with at most 130 majicka. By the time I had cast a ward, I was spent. At that point he'd say, "okay, keep it up and I'll try a spell." I ran my sword through him. That used up my free thane pass in Whiterun, lol.

I came across a dead fugitive, with a sabre cat nearby. No sign of the Hunter, though.

That reminds me. At some point in our travels we all meet the Old Orc. He's always accompanied by a pair of dead sabercats. He'll tell you he's too old and useless to be a proper orc, and wants an honorable death. Well, today I saw the two dead sabercats and the Old Orc... also dead. I hope he got what he wanted.

I once met an alchemist in the wilds, but he asked me for my valuables like any other robber. He's still lying dead on the same road (was a pretty hard fight, he used magic when I was still a low level), moving a bit up or down the road every now and then.

He's on the road between Helgen and Riverwood, at least every time I've seen him. I don't think he's part of any quest, though.
I met him twice on the road between Whiterun and ... well ... Ivarstead? The road leading north around the mountain of High Hrotgar. Managed to take his staff, the guy would've poked someone's eye out with it!

I came across a dead fugitive, with a sabre cat nearby. No sign of the Hunter, though.
You can meet a lot of them when wandering across the Reach or on the mountains. Mostly groups of two dead npcs, killed by a wolf/sabre cat/troll/yadda yadda. Sometimes it's just "bosmer" or another race, instead of "fugitive".

Also, I've had three times now that when I run from Windhelm on the road leading west to that mill, a black horse comes falling down from the sky. The first time it fell in the river, the other two times it fell on the road, bounced up like it was on a trampoline and then dropped dead a bit farther. Really weird. O_o And it fell RIGHT NEXT to me the last time, I was shocked!
On the other hand, the travelling noble's horse doesn't feel like flying very fast from here to there and disappearing into the sky anymore, so I guess he finally learned his horse some manners ...

I stumbled across a lighthouse while strolling about the icey parts of skyrim. A poor family had been murdered and left their journals around the house.

The children wrote how much they hated living there and wanted to live in the city and where hearing noises from the cellar and their father went to go out and get traps because they thought they were skeevers.

I had to find the murderers. Just one random quest that I enjoyed so much because I never expected any more than a quick root about. Truly fantastic.

On the road heading to Riften from the west, I came across the 3 revelers and they'd been mauled to death by a bear that I quickly dispatched.
