Tattoos!

I have the 82 airborne insignia on my right shoulder. In a different division now though so that is sometimes awkward. I don't regret it though.

Also a very regrettable Horde symbol with Lok'tar Ogar on my right bicep considering my WoW account has been discontinued, but it gave me many great memories so still worth it.

None for me. I think I would get very tired of looking at the same thing on my skin the rest of my life (that doesn't wash off). Hell, I get bugged by the moles I have.

I have six of them. One on each calf, one on my left forearm, one on my upper left arm, one on my chest, and one an my back. Unfortunately I do not have any photos available at this time, they are all on my camera's memory card...which has gone MIA. I've got no idea what I did with it, I hope I didn't pitch it.

Weird, I actually have booked one (my first one) for tomorrow. It'll be a celtic cross with a ribbon wrapped around it. It'll be done on my ribs.

I haven't got any, and I probably won't. I thought about getting a button on my ankle, but I'm not sure if I could live with it forever, it would annoy me eventually. I guess I could paint it on in eyeliner and see how long I could put up with it for.

My friends have some- one has a geisha girl, a garter design around her leg, a ribbon and a heart/key thing. Another friend has a teacup with a mouse peeping out of the top of it. Another friend has a butterfly on her back with her nan's name on it that she got when her nan died.

One of my mum's friends got a tiny bumblebee tattooed on her ass, for the simple reason that it would annoy her mother-in-law. The bumblebee is pretty cute.

Does she show her mother-in-law her bottom often, then?

Nope, don't plan on it either. I find tattoos revolting. I don't necessarily judge people for having tattoos, but I sincerely find tattoos to but uglier than those huge disks people pierce into their ears.

I have two currently. My first one is a design of a cross and a bit of linework arching out around it with my last name above the cross itself (this ones across my back/shoulderblades) got that when I was 15 and still like it thought I may add more to it or change up the style some and my second is a pair of greyscale wings across my right ribcage with my mother and fathers names on the inside.

My next one will be something like this.

I haven't got any. The only designs that have any meaning to me are band logos, and for all I know I'll hate the band next year so I don't really want to commit to one.

Depends on the tattoo for me, really. I don't like Face Tattoos at all, but tattoos pretty much anywhere else would be okay with me..

I did wonder, when she said it! :lmao: Probably just the thought of her having a tattoo would be enough to send the mother-in-law over the edge, she's apprently a very uptight woman.

I think girls with tattoos is tricky. It's easy to look tacky. I guess that goes for all tattoos. 95% of the ones I see I hate. It's very rare to find a nice one. My ex had a orchid on the inside of her wrist with chinese symbol underneath and it looked lovely.

I could never get a tattoo just for the fact I could never find something that I could live with the rest of my life. Some are cool though and I don't look down upon those that have them. They're just not for me.

I'm thinking of http://www.tattoojohnny.com/product/GJF-00826/b955dfc2799bbe69c4c8f367fbc2593e/searchpage/1/image/2/prods/CRF-00195,GJF-00826,ASF-00003,APF-00033,RYF-00028,RBF-00029,DCF-00022,GJF-00517,RYF-00027,AAF-05973,RYF-00034,AAF-05891,AAF-08901,AAF-08900,AAF-08910,X2F-00045,FRF-00160,SJF-00017,CCF-00260, on my left right shoulder. Good idea?

Well, once I go down to the lower 48 for summer. Have to be 18 in alaska to get a tattoo

I can't even think about getting one on my arm/wrist/hand. Any place you can't cover up easily just screams "DON'T DO IT!" to me. No offense to those that have them though.

Eh, they all look pretty cheap design wise. I'd recommend going in to see a good artist, telling him what you're looking for and letting him design it. It'll be more personal and stylish.

Good idea, I just wouldn't know were to start. There aren't many artists were I'm going, and they usually require a fee just to attempt the rendering, IIRC.

I could talk to my sister, she drew all hers and they look pretty good.
The only problem is that my sister doesn't want me to get one, and I think she wouldn't be to thrilled if I asked her.
Which is kind of hypocritical because she got her first when she was 15, and I'm 17.

A good start would be to check out their previous work they've done. Any artist that wants your business will have their handiwork documented for others to see. If you like what you see from their previous work, then you might want to see what they can come up with if you already have a good idea of what you want.

Every tattoo I have, I at least had a general idea of what I wanted, and in two instances knew exacly what I wanted and what it would look like. That makes the artists job easier knowing what the customer wants and expects. Also, don't be afraid to give them a bit of artistic freedom once in awhile, I did that on my back piece (wolf and bald eagle) and wound up with purple mountains in the background. I had no idea he would do that but it turned out fantastic. Wish I had a picture of it, but he does. Unfortunately, I hear do to personal health issues he is no longer allowed to continue tattooing, but he still runs the show.
