To agree with Starwulf to an extent, I wouldn't like my hypothetical wife or GF having too many tattoos, but then I myself only want one or two. I think big pieces look bad on girls. Small tattoos on hands, back of the neck and feet normally look nicest.

I hate any kind of upper arm tattoo on girls, they mostly look nasty.
wait are you saying it's okay for you to have tattoos, but not your gf?? damn
i agree that tattoos look stupid on most girls, but then again, i think tattoos look stupid on most guys too

Always keep in mind that tats don't look so good on old people. My brother in law used to have a panther on his forearm...it's more of a gecko now. Monarch butterflies turn into into swallow tails. Tramp Stamps end up 9 inches above your butt. It gets really ugly folks.

That's a bit... I dunno. Something seems a bit off about people getting permanent markings as a promotional event for the telly programme du jour. Not necessarily related, but I remember overhearing a couple of girls talking about getting tattoos and if they'd go off the idea and rationalising it with "well they fade away completely in 10 years, and they can easily be lasered off anyway." I doubt if some random stranger contradicting them would've made any difference, but... no.

On the other hand, the message behind a good tattoo is more than skin deep. :P

That's what I'm saying. I just think that big tattoos don't look good on girls. Just my opinion.

Is that real? The woman's leg looks like biro. But reading some of the comments there almost makes me want to get an ugly tattoo just to spite them!

That depends on the tattoo and who's wearing it. I've seen tattoos (both large and small) that look bad on some women but look great on others. I've also seen women covered in tats that are beautiful, and yet I've seen others with only one or two (both large and small) that look terrible. Again, it depends on what it is, who's wearing it, and where at it's been placed.

Normally the white isn't coloured in or written on, but it was my girlfriend's birthday so I let her :P

Have a drawing that my girlfriend did for me for one on the inside of my right bicep, but it's just a matter of saving up enough money now.

I'm thinking of http://www.tattoojohnny.com/product/GJF-00826/b955dfc2799bbe69c4c8f367fbc2593e/searchpage/1/image/2/prods/CRF-00195,GJF-00826,ASF-00003,APF-00033,RYF-00028,RBF-00029,DCF-00022,GJF-00517,RYF-00027,AAF-05973,RYF-00034,AAF-05891,AAF-08901,AAF-08900,AAF-08910,X2F-00045,FRF-00160,SJF-00017,CCF-00260, on my left right shoulder. Good idea?

Well, once I go down to the lower 48 for summer. Have to be 18 in alaska to get a tattoo

I can't even think about getting one on my arm/wrist/hand. Any place you can't cover up easily just screams "DON'T DO IT!" to me. No offense to those that have them though.

Also thinking about getting http://www.tattoojohnny.com/product/T9F-00374/448c36095d7aa1d5c0de63e59c365279/searchpage/1/image/1/prods/T9F-00374,AUF-00006,AUF-00062,PHF-00481,ANF-00038,ANF-00041,N2F-00162,AAF-00189,ANF-00042,AAF-00186,AAF-11489,J6F-00118,AAF-00920,AAF-01213,DPF-00201,AAF-00870,COF-00135,LLF-00150,J0F-00179,SOF-00291,RNF-00542,KRF-00008,AAF-00960,PHF-00567, of http://www.tattoojohnny.com/product/TNF-00061/87f57a2e76791d1b19d8c95ba8bb5b93/searchpage/1/image/24/prods/T9F-00374,AUF-00006,AUF-00062,ANF-00038,ANF-00041,N2F-00162,ANF-00042,J6F-00118,J0F-00179,RNF-00542,KRF-00008,DPF-00204,ADF-00392,AUF-00063,TNF-00058,ANF-00037,TNF-00021,TNF-00024,JPF-00322,TNF-00060,TDF-00035,JPF-00481,TNF-00023,TNF-00061,

Arm tattoos do imo. Women's arms are delicate and throwing a great big sleeve on there looks trashy.

Again, tattoos are so subjective. This is just my taste. I don't think I'd date a girl with loads of big tattoos, but it wouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker.

Tattoos on girls is a contentious issue with me. I tend to like small ones, but dislike big ones. Then occasionally I'll see some big 'uns that look absolutely amazing.
Please never get a tattoo like that, ever. As a New Zealander, it's cringe worthy, just as bad as those people who get Kanji tattoos without any idea what they mean.

I can't stand the tribal tattoos with the huge jagged lines. Some of the proper islander tattoos are awesome. Like Sonny Bill Williams' http://www.vanishingtattoo.com/tattoo/images/celeb-sonny-bill_williams/sony_bill_williams_large/sonny_bill_williams_008.jpg.

I wouldn't say it's shallow to reject a woman for her tattoos. If you don't like the kind of character that comes with a person who's willing to do that to their body, that's entirely your business.

At the end of the day, it's all down to what you find attractive. I think tats look great on a girl, the more the merrier. But I can see why some might not like them...

It's no different to any other physical attribute really, like hair colour. I prefer brunettes to blondes, but you might prefer blondes to brunettes. Some prefer inked, some prefer...umm...non-inked(?)

It's shallow to judge their personality. It's not shallow to judge their appearance. People have different tastes.

I'm pretty sure the term "shallow" got its name for only looking far enough to perceive outward appearances.

But I don't want to derail a perfectly valid thread and I certainly don't want to start any flame wars, so I'll leave it at that.
