Texture Loading Issues

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 10:01 pm

There have been various reports of texture glitches in the XB360 version.

Some say it's only when you play from the HDD. Some say it's only when you don't clear your cache beforehand. Some say it happens regardless of whether you're playing from the disc or HDD.

Some say it's caused by pulling up in-game menus like inventory or quest journal and after exiting the menu textures look washed out.

One thing's for sure: MANY people who already have the XB360 version of Skyrim, illegal and legit, are complaining about texture issues.

The Day One Patch thread in this forum sub-section doesn't specify texture issue fixes, therefore, it is reasonable to assume the Day One Patch will not fix the issue.

Bethesda, PLEASE look into this and fix it immediately. Thank you.

THAT'S THEIR REPLY TO THE ISSUE?!?

"IT'S NOT THAT BAD"?!?

Am I to understand Bethesda isn't planning to fix the issue?

Unbelievable.

Oh.

Well that's okay, then.

He isn't a Bethesda employee so what he says doesn't count.

So can we confirm it is just installing to your HDD that does this? As i want to start playing and i shall play from disc and listen to an airport.

I talked to my friend from XBL after i saw he was playing Skyrim and he said that texture bug when it is installed indeed exists and that playing from disc indeed provides better textures (and that makes no sense but it's true!).

People are expecting the day one patch to fix this, but Pete Hines kinda denied its caused by eithr installing or not installing. He says there's no difference in that. Then what is it? I'm glad i dont have the problem, but i saw footage on Gametrailers and it looked VERY bad, they obviously have the texture bug going on there.

He didnt understand the question, guy who asked should have asked in a better way.

Good example to ask: A lot of ppl are saying that installing Skyrim on 360 will result in lower resolution textures (bug), can you please confirm is fix on the way?

Bad way: Should we install Skyrim on 360 cause textures get low res?

As u can see he thought the guy asked him something else...

Aaaah ok, i didn't know that. But as for Andrew Reiner's question, i find Pete's reply rather weird. I sure as hell am not gonna install it. And if he thinks it doesn't look that bad,he should watch some Gametrailers.com Skyrim videos.

I believe the earlier qoute was a Re-Tweet, Pete's reply was "I don't know what texture glitches you are talking about. Game runs same off disc vs. HDD. We don't see any differences" (taken from dcdeacon's twitter)

I do hope they find a fix for it, but I think we may need to wait till we pass a week after launch to see some action from Beth, but if the airport noise bothers you I'd invest in some Turtlebeaches, like I will be doing :)

I hope I don't have problems like this. I have arranged for everything to be perfect this weekend. I didn't even think for a second Bethesda would be the ones to [censored] it up.

What i noticed in the GT review they had the game installed and i think that why they gave a 8.8 for design still high but deserved at least a 9 imo just saying and something else ive noticed if you have installed the game and remove it and load youre load your last save the bug is still there and after a while it gone i just hope this is fixed asap

Probably my most anticipated game of all time, what a way to absolutely drain all the hype from their launch in my opinion.

I have a great surround set and the sound of that will basically silence any kind of noise, so that's good enough :D
