Texture Loading Issues

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 9:19 pm

Your Welcome Guys. Just wanted to clear things up the easy way.

The Patch is already Live.
If you start up the Game you receive the Patch. 3MB

No, sadly the Patch didn′t fix the texture Issue.!!!!!!

And NO, Clearing the Cache won′t help either...

Sorry but how do you clear the cache, do you just switch the console off?

For clearing the cache click here http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/troubleshoot/hardware/clear-system-cache

I am also doing another check if i see any difference in the textures. First check i didn't really see any changes in my shack. Now again installing the game and see if i see a difference in the outside world.

People preformed all kind of tests in other topic, seems that nor cache cleaning nor installing game on USB helps.

Whilst I do feel lucky to be one of the fortunate ones whose pre-orders got delivered a day early and are able to play it, I have noticed something else that may be related to this texture bug, unless it's intentional (but still looks a bit crappy if it is): In the bandit tower just outside of Riverwood, I've noticed that the ground textures on the upper floors and stairs are a dodgy solid white colour with black spotty lines where the edges of the floorboards would be. At first I thought it might just be a snow covering, but it looks decidedly undertextured compared to everything else. Anyone else who is already playing Skyrim noticed this and think it might just be intentionally this way, rather than a bug?

THAT'S THEIR REPLY TO THE ISSUE?!?

"IT'S NOT THAT BAD"?!?

Am I to understand Bethesda isn't planning to fix the issue?

Unbelievable.

We're looking into it. Something to clear up is this has nothing to do with whether you install to the hard drive or not.

When you look good you see indeed some differences. Besides that the loading is also a lot slower than if you install the game on your HDD. So it's a choice at which point you prefer.

So you have no idea what causing it?

Hello people, now i know a lot of people are concerned about Skyrim at the moment with this whole texture issue that has arisen, but i can honestly say this IS NOT apparent if you DO NOT install the game to your HDD, me, my cousin and now three of my friends on XBL have the game and have not installed to HD, alas, not ONE single issue texture wise, in fact it is the most beautiful thing i have seen on console, the only thing i guess some might say say negative thing that has happened to me personally and i just smiled through it, was a deer i was chasing around the forest clipped into a rock, then vanished for a second, then reappeared out of the rock again.

Now i am aware some people are claiming it is happening to them without it installed aswell.. All i can say to this is, they either have:

- Installed it without knowing (I know, stupid right)
- Got a copy of the game that isn't Gold somehow, through getting it early? i dunno im throwing things out there.
- There console is the original arcade 360 from years ago and Skyrim for some reason dosen't like running on it :(
- They haven't patched the game whatsoever...

I really cant say for certain on any of these theory's, after all i dont work for Bethesda nor have that much knowledge on this....

Well all we know is that Bethesda knows about this and are working on it. Until the issue is addressed I will just play from the disc.

Thanks for that info Skyyr.
My Xbox version should arrive tomorrow. I planned on installing it but after seeing these threads, i`ll just use the disc then until a patch comes out for the install problem.

From previous posts I have viewed I have actually come to understand that the old xbox 360 console is having fewer instances of the texture issues than the xbox 360 slim.

feel happier that I know at least its been looked at. very interesting that not linked to HDD, which means possibly your console or set up.

Anyway, I am now getting a copy for my ps3 as well as my xbox 360 CE. I intend to compare both versions like a bloody hawk and report back to these forums with a dog honest view of what the comparison looks like.

I hope this helps.

Wait, there's reports that installing to an external HDD doesn't help?

Hard to keep track of things when people keep making new topics for the same issue.

All five of us are on the slim, various HD sizes aswell so that can be something ruled out at least. I am honestly not sure, just thought i would share my experiences so far.

Yep, in one of the older topics some guy claimed that he tried that without any positive effect, don't know if thats true or not. But now Bethesda employee says that issue is not connected to installation so i don't know what to think.

That's kind of frustrating to hear, yesterday bastardo said once he installed to an external the issue was cleared up. Guess I'll just have to try and see what works best.
