Exactly. Just embrace Fallout's alien heritage. They certainly makes the Alien Blaster less overpowered and they look pretty cool in you house. Just leave the aliens alone and enjoy the game.

This.

"It cures animal poison effects and it certainly worked when I played against a radscopion that stabbed me." I am glad they have poison again. What are the effects?

Alien Power Cells :banghead: you let me down devs of FO New Vegas :swear: .

The poison will probably have the same effects as in the originals. As for the alien power cells., it dosent mean there will be aliens, but it does mean alien weapons/easter eggs like in the other fallout games.

Poison Effects like the Originals would be awesome. Alien Blaster in the Originals used normal power cells.

What's the difference if it uses normal power cells or alien? Its still the ALIEN blaster!

It's sad that IGN won't give this game a full 10. They will always do something ridiculous and say that it has a 'few bugs' or something that's in every game like that. Then they'll only give it a 9.8. Just like they did on RDR :banghead:

"only" 9.8, that's still an outstanding score

What I hate is how the gaming rags give a 7.5 or 8 to an average game. 5/10 should be average. A game that gets a 7 should be better than most.

Great thing about the English Language words can mean many things like the word Alien. It can mean space people or it can mean strange, odd, not of the norm and foreign. Alien Blaster in the originals used normal power cells made by mankind. Alien in "Alien Blaster" could have meant it was so advanced so strange that it's "Alien" just like the way people called wanamingos Aliens.

Anyways I guess I just have to except it (tolerate it). I just hope there is no mothership zeta like content.

IGN gave RDR a 9.7 and 1 month ago they got rid of their old scale for ratings. So they can either rate it a 9.5 or a 10, and this game does not deserve any less then a 9.9.

Fallout New Vegas deserves a 10/10. Quick question, did the Varmint Rifle use 5.56 or .22 rounds? The wiki says 5.56 but I'm almost positive it was supposed to be .22.

I think it used the .22 rounds.

Thank you :tops: You're a great person for answering all of our little questions. :cookie:

Edit. I just found an offscreen gameplay video that has confirmed that the Varmint Rifle fires 5.56. Don't worry, I won't take your cookie away

You don't want to watch it. It's a blurry 3 panel off screen that consists of the PC changing weapons to the Varmint Rifle and walking into the Goodsprings Cemetary. You won't even enjoy it. I think that's why ZeniMax didn't report it as a violation like they did with some of the other search results for "fallout new vegas pax" I really wanted to watch some of those videos too :sadvaultboy:

On a different note, I tallied up the skill points and the demo characters had about 335 points by level 6. That's a lot to play around with. Of course, in our gnome buddy's case, 67 of those points were packed into Guns. That begs the question of how many INT points the character had. Is this demo even a realistic look at the game? The carry weight was at 245, which is very high STR character. I'm wondering now if they gave these demo characters excess power. 42 days until we find out.

Alien Power Cells mean Aliens and that's just BS so that's why they let me down.

And Duck Tape :tops:

Um aliens have always been in fallout games.

Previously in much smaller roles. Primarily as Easter Eggs and potentially a weapon or two.

theres an orbital super lazer you get to shoot every gameday for the rest of your playthrough if you want to, alien blaster vs 200 yo orbital overkill (there is no overkill, in this case literaly just open fire and time to reload) sat thats still up there and working and you can get the keys to use it. . . . . .besides Aliens with leathal weapons have been part of fallout since Fallout before it became Fallout 1

Some people realy do pick the odd things to complain about.

Tagged skills might work like they used too again. That may be why it looks like you get more points.

For one thing I was replying to Drakenred who said that there had been aliens in past Fallout games.

I don't think there's necessarily any problem with them being in New Vegas, but they should play a very minor role. I'd prefer if people treated them the same as the original creators treated them in the original game, as little more than an Easter Egg.

Why did they let you down? Because some people enjoy alien power cells? You don't have to ever use them but people that enjoy them can! The power of choice and options oh my!

Oh and its duct tape not duck...

Curious to see what the alien power cells are for. Might be an alien blaster....Might be for something else.

And it really depends on what you use the tape for.... :bolt:
