Vegas was miles away so I didn't get close to it. Its also a shame as I didn't even think to look at NV during the night. There are stars at night though.

Could you see it lit up though from afar at night? Oh and is the lucky 38 visible from pretty much anywhere since its the biggest structure in the game?

So there's absolutely no wiggle room there. There aren't any mods that can be used for more than one weapon? You'd figure something like a scope for a magnum would be interchangeable or something.

Sorry but you should be warned, theres a Rant incomeing to you for saying that!

First off a pistol scope will have eye relief that corresponds to focus at an arms length grip hold of the pistol, a rifle scope will have more like 3-5.5 inches of relief depending on model. Trying to mount a scope that was made for a rifle on a handgun or a handgun on a rifle will cause all kinds of problems with the focus that often cant be fixed by the average end user even if they have the tools because the scope was not designed with that kind of shooting in mind in the first place.

(thats not counting a "scout scope" thats designed with forward mounting on a carbine or ahead of a rifle action., while they are a bit more interchangable between"cabines" and rifles, there not as good on a rifle as a dedicated Rifle mount, and Ironicaly are often far more "Fragile" than a rifle scope would be if you tried to get it to mount on a handgun!)

Second Pistol scopes are designed to be lighter and (oddly enough for being lighter) tougher than rifle mounted scopes as the scope has to deal with the shock of recoil, especialy on higher power handguns like the .44 and the .50. Even some of the early high end handgun scopes could not deal with the recoil of high end handguns for very long.

Third Pistol scopes are designed with the shorter range of a handgun in mind in the first place, making them kind of useless on a longer range rifle

4th (granted this is more of a one way street) a lot of Rifle scopes just will not mount properly on a pistol in the first place,

5th or probably 4.5th pistol scopes are nowdays deigned to have a minimal impact on the "balance" of a handgun, the same is not true of mounting a rifle scope to a pistol!

Actually I was thinking more like being able to use the same scope for both the .357 and .44 Magnums and maybe some of the other pistols.

The question was answered in the quote. "I didn't even think to look at NV during the night". But I actually was able to spot the Lucky 38 in the daytime.

Was lucky 38 visible more often than not?

When I was looking at it, it was visible. When I was looking away, I couldn't see it. I don't think the Lucky 38 has cloaking technologies.

Was there any response that allowed the player to be antagonistic/jackhole-ish towards Neil?

oh thats more of a "tuneup" than anything else, but I would not bother with a scope on anthing that was not a long barrle .357. (IE no snub pistiles with scopes! I mean honestly guys I know you can get scope mounts for .357s all the way down to 1 inch barrles but whats the bloody point?) and realisticaly a scope designed for a lower power handgun will be too lightweight for a higher power gun(Ive actualy seen light weight pistol scopes literaly fly appart on .45s but the same scope should outlive the usefull life of all the other parts of a .9 mm with just normal care and mainenence)

I was actually in line at the time and I took at quick screen shot. I assume there will be but I didn't see anything.

I wonder what the addiction side effects of Steady are. I have an odd feeling I'm going to be using a LOT of Steady...
Aren't Bethesda's bug-fixers working on New Vegas as well?

If Fallout 3 is anything to go by I hope not...
I think I'm gonna head off and play some MW2. Don't usurp my throne while I'm gone. :)

How can you possibly stand going from the best game to the absolute worst?

I dont understand peoples complaining about shooting in third person, all you have to do is aim where the screen center is

The game acts funny, the animations are distracting, and your player model gets in the way of seeing what you're trying to aim at. 3P vew in FO3 is only useful if you rely on VATS.

Fair enough, I just wanted to have some GTA type of fun .-. Also, how dare you sir! just because Ive had nearly every console ever made does not mean I can afford a proper computer =/ (specially since I went through 4 Xboxes >_>)

I built a computer capable of running Fallout 3/NV on a 250 dollar budget. You can too.
There are stars at night though.

Did they try to corral you in one small chunk of the map, or did you just want to get a better look at the area? Since you mentioned there were 10mm pistols, how did they perform? Were they more powerful than in Fallout 3?

Doesn't mean you will actually see aliens in the game just alien weaponry. If you don't want to use it you never have to have it in your inventory and you never have to use it. There's sure to be weapons/skills/perks that you will use but others won't because they don't like them. Power of choice! Power of options! Oh my!

I know I don't have to use it. Aliens are crap and should not be in Fallout. My two cents. I hope Alien Power Cells is a mistake. Have alien looking weapons and make them us normal power cells.

Exactly. Just embrace Fallout's alien heritage. They certainly makes the Alien Blaster less overpowered and they look pretty cool in you house. Just leave the aliens alone and enjoy the game.
