Curious to see what the alien power cells are for. Might be an alien blaster....Might be for something else.

And it really depends on what you use the tape for.... :bolt:

*duck tapes brahmin ribs on a fishing pole and 50 pounds of c4 to a death claw's back faces it towards a raider strong hold and watches in glee at the mayhem*

Couldnt you use duct tape to hold guns together? (The hunting rifle in Fallout 3 was duct taped together) could increase durability on guns or just be a material to make some guns...

There was a misunderstanding. I said Duct Tape (not duck tape lol) was a misc. (meaning miscellaneous) item. The picture for the duct tape is just the simple scrap metal icon.

I'm digging the duck tape, love that stuff. The skills look good.

I don't quite understand.

Is duct tape a usable item, or is it just a reagent in the survival skill?

It is not a useable item (as I said in my last post). It is on the same level as a Bent Tin Can or a Teddy Bear.

Well since Gnome said it was a misc item I would imagine it is just random junk or actually used to make schematic type of guns... I would have enjoyed increasing my guns life if not by 10 shots =(
Edit: I should preview before replying so I dont waste a spot...
Edit #2: @Gnome omg I just realized I want an exploding teddy bear to defeat my enemies with cuteness .-.

Um aliens have always been in fallout games.

Sure, as Easter eggs...as in uncommon little jokes rather than playing a significant role in anything. I know people that played through those games more than once and never even knew the alien Easter eggs were there at all. The first time they were used as canon game content was Mothership Zeta.

I don't really mind if some people like them (as they shouldn't mind if I don't), but as a fan of Fallout since Wasteland (heh) I personally think it's a distraction that waters down the setting rather than adding to it. I'm not going to say they don't belong because it's pretty subjective, but in my opinion as a long-time fan Fallout would be better off without any more alien content aside from another Easter egg or two.

And the crashed alien ship In F1-2

You're right. I shouldn't have said No Aliens, only Weapons...I should have said No Aliens, only Alien Artifacts.

Also I agree with everything Softnerd says

Duct tape is just a simple reminder of why you're going to go happy time on Benny.

The one post for now. My particular sect of Fallout fanaticism may be more extreme then yours. Therefore I reserve the right to proclaim your viewpoints as milquetoast and somehow inferior to my own.

Good times.

That's it. My Fallout fanaticism vs. yours in a multi-event battle to the death. Event one: tether-ball. Go!

Since I beat you both, I can be the referee. Or maybe the ball. Or the pole.

Hey Gnome. Since your character seemed crazy built up, did you catch a glimpse of your SPECIAL?

Also, this begs the question: We have heard about alot of people getting killed fairly easily during this game demo. If their SPECIAL is all the way up, does this mean combat is gonna be tougher? As in, alot tougher?

Tougher in the sense of you actually have to know which weapons to use now. In a sense its going to be like Mass Effect 2 combat, different health bars for different weapon types except Armor won't be color coded yellow and is only a red shield.

IGG, did they say anything about modding? Will New Vegas work with the FO3 GECK or mods? If not, will they release a NV GECK at launch?

It was actually emphasized in a demo that 3rd person was improved in Vegas to allow players to play from that perspective unlike FO3

Would you happen to have a link to the demo? I'd like to see how 3rd person has changed.
