Started a new hunter character called "Dunmeria" (yeah I know, terrible name ). She is a dunmer (that you didn't expect, ha?)

Don't feel bad about Dunmeria... i called my Morrowind Dunmer: Chimera

Malik from Assassin's Creed and Malik from Deus Ex: HR.

Dunmeria has met a dragon twice now. (master difficulty + deadly dragons, means I'm not going to survive if they attack me!). She made her way to whiterun from riverwood and is currently level 8.

I decided to restart Vasheera, with a more even distribution of skill usage, and have gotten her to level 30 so far. She's not going to do the MQ or Civil War, but is instead treating the College quest line as her MQ. As such, she'll be doing a ton of side jobs between major quests in order to prove she's up to the next task.

So far the decision to restart has been validated; earlier access to the College meant she had a better selection of spells at lower levels, which made combat a lot less of a hassle. In addition, by not immediately running up Alchemy and Enchanting she's kept the encounter levels closer to her own, which has prevented the previous issue of needing massive numbers of Bolt casts on tougher opponents.

Due to her not wearing any armor, Restoration has leveled fairly rapidly; this gave her access to Close Wounds a lot earlier than my other characters, which has proven invaluable. She's not increasing magicka, due to needing everything in health, so is heavily reliant on Enchanting when it comes to casting higher-tier spells; this is causing limitations in what she can cast at this point, since she needs Dual Enchant to cover all the schools, so she's leaning on Destruction and Restoration for now. Interestingly, the other three schools haven't really been needed so far, but then she hasn't yet encountered top-end opposition; they will be increasingly useful the higher she goes, though, as Destruction will start to lag and will need to be supplemented in order to keep fights short.

This play style keeps things interesting, since the character's high vulnerability means I cannot get complacent in combat, but it's definitely not for everyone as some folks don't like constantly riding the edge.

Yes, I can't stay away.
FEMTEN looks (and is) really bad-ass!
Thank you and good lock with the strapping character you created. Malik is a fav of DE HR for me as well.

Oh,,,if I already put him up, the old info should be fine.
No, I mean other than the info you just provided. There is no previous grave for him. I just remember you posting on him, in the past. He is added and you may give the detailed specs at your leisure.

I hope you fair well with your strategy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Femten decided to hail a carriage to the College. Upon arriving, she entered the local tavern. More gossip and a chance to feel that place out. Looking for a Bound Bow spell, she had no luck. It was advised that see the College for help. Away we we go...

After jumping through the hoops to gain access. She enters the Courtyard, and is stricken with a familiar and eerie chill. It was...ANCANO! The one that started the experimental process on her. She quickly covers her head with a hood. In hopes he doesn't recognize her.

After greeting the others, and settling in as one of the students, she has but one thing on her mind...KILL that son of a...um, KILL that dude. She pondered getting the spell or spells and leaving, but the overwhelming want, to take his ass out is too much to walk away from.

Keep your friends close. Keep your enemies closer. Right? Just as well, as I have a mod installed that removes all the map markers. So no fast traveling for Femten. The damn carriage driver hall'd ass amyway.

On the way to
Spoiler
assist in the exploration of a nearby ruin
, she encounters a group of Imperial Soldiers. This was good, because she could some back up if she encountered a... DAMN! Out of nowhere and no warning she is hit with a blast of fire that takes her health down so low it had to be just 1 left. I could barely see any red on her bar, as I went to the inventory screen to scan the list of potions.

I have no idea how many and what kind is there. She had a good selection, because we had only used one Health Pot since the game started. What we didn't have was a Resist Fire Pot. I am glad I didn't sell those Stamina Pots. as they proved to be the life saver, but not before she was met with, what seemed to be a Lightning Machine Gun. We had 2 Dragons on our ass and they were tagging in and out. It was double team!

Not looking back we just ran...and ran...I had no idea where we were going, nor did I care. My heart was in my throat and my adrenalin was coming out my ears. We somehow ended up nearing a village. It was Winterhold. Ha! We made a big circle.

Not being able to take on a Dragon in the open, much less two, we needed a plan. Making her way to the edge of the vicinity, she got the attention of the Spark Dragon. Leading him into the village, she could use the storefront as cover, while the Dragon was distracted with the Guards. Needless to say, they didn't last long at all.

1 hour latter (real time) the Dragon was dead. Booty Sweat, or rather 100 of them, finally done their job. She leveled twice in that fight. She is now level 8, with 40 in Conjuration and 26 in Destruction. Her Illusion skill is still around 24. She is turning into a Destruction / Conjurer. I will just run with it for now.

We need to get the other one into town, so she headed out to lure him in. After about another 15 min with no sign of getting him on the ground, ( I have the enemy health bar turned off ) I made a Quicksave and will take it up after a little bit.

I Just created my second character in skyrim........this will be my first ever DID attempt......

Name: Aezyiz, Argonian

Will play on expert

Used "live another life" mod to have him begin at the windhelm docks in the argonian assembledge....

Dockworker who is fed up with the low wages and backbreaking work at the Windhelm docks...tells his nord boss to screw himself and walks off the docks, carrying just the clothes on his back...now has no place to stay as the assembledge had been his home, .....Says goodbye to his former co-workers and now he stands in Windhelm a free argonian, nowhere to be, no one to tell him what to do....

He itches for a little adventure...he has no skills, but he has always been intrigued by the bow....he remembers bow hunting with his father as a youngster and they are some of his fondest memories... "maybe I can find a cheap bow in Windhelm? Argonians' gotta eat, right?.....first I gotta get some money..."

Jo'Kesh has followed the Imperial to Riverwood and helped around the forge. After helping around the forge, he sold his crafts to the trader. Then he helped out that trader. And on to Whiterun to tell the Jarl that Riverwood is a bit scared. Then he talks to the mage and the mage wants some sort of stone. Jo'Kesh gave him one, and he seems happy. But the mage gives Jo'Kesh the creeps. So much like master Dalvus. Jo'Kesh remembers Dalvus and the shocks. Distruction magic is not a good thing.

My new DID character... the son of the last DID character is surviving well... actually he is surviving things he should not be surviving.

Aryon. Note: Dunmer, atronach stone, both very important to him currently being alive.

So he is accepting any quest anyone gives him because he doesn't know what is going to be waiting for him(I'm removing my 'own' judgement from his decisions). So at a low level he does a quest that was offered to him. Requires killing a hargraven surrounded by witches. Was level 10 when that happened. Charged at the beast, dodging one fireball, then jumping over another. The third one hit, but he absorbed the spell and got into melee. His trusty steal shield held up against the vile creatures blows while he swung his poisoned orcish sword over and over. He had little health after it died, but it died.

Now level 12. His second chance 'should have died' encounter started with a guard telling him he saw a dragon fly that way. So he went that way. Found the dragon, it was a challenge, but he absorbed its first breath, and the second flame just toasted his shield. He managed to get on the dragons flank and slice it open. That was the easy part, a hundred feet away was a sealed casket, and when he approached a dreadful dead black thing(a named Dragonpriest) rose from the casket. It hovered above the ground wielding a golden staff.... then came the torrent of fire balls. He dodged, bounced, ducked, absorbed, and got burnt a few times. Finally getting close to the hovering creature he gave it a good slice only to break a piece of its armor. Then the creature cast a spell making its flesh as hard as steel. Aryon felt as if he couldn't hurt the creature as it hovered away from him. Ducking behind a rock he drank a healing potion, and a resist fire potion(adding to his already 50% resist), and charged the thing again. It was mummering in some ancient language then a freezing wind wrapped itself around the creature. Anytime Aryon got within a few feet of the thing he felt like he was going to freeze to death. He would swing his blade then back off a few feet, and repeat. Now he wished he drank a resist frost potion. Running for his dear life occurred now. Then he remembered his shield was enchanted with resist frost so he hunkered down behind his shield as he swung his sword around the side of it. He kept at it, kept at it, praying that he could absorb just one more fire blast. Finally the thing screamed.... and dispersal into a pile of dust. He wasn't sure how he finally killed.

Now he is enjoying the mask and fireball staff.

With only 100 gold to his name, Aezyiz didnt have enough money for a hunting bow from oengul war-anvil...but as fate would have it, Aezyiz got into a verbal conflict with a racist named rolff stone-fist in the candlehearth hall...Rolff bet him 100 gold on a fistfight........soon after Aezyiz had his hunting bow (155 gold) and also purchased 17 iron arrows, which completly exhausted his finances................the next morning he made his way toward Whiterun (only traveling in the day), Stopped and cut some wood at a mill for a days pay, had some encounters with wolves, got rockjoint, was almost killed by a horker, and then spent the night at nightgale inn (i think its called).... The following day he made it to whiterun, met some adventurers calling themselves the companions, they seem to be a strong, loyal, united, brotherhood in arms, something Aezyiz would very much like to be a part of...Aezyiz has decieded to see if he can become better acquanted with these fellows...

Couple tough losses in a row, at ~lvl 20 (will try to post a bit about them soon.)

Started my first Dunmer, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v680/ixoye/ScreenShot1574.jpg (I can never think of good names for Mer). Using Live Another Life, chose to http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v680/ixoye/ScreenShot1578.jpg

So far all she's done is barely escape the Ratways, burning her way out, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v680/ixoye/ScreenShot1582.jpg and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v680/ixoye/ScreenShot1581.jpg filled with arrows. All the way!

As usual, Malik visited Embershard mine...I swear that mine gets too much attention in my playthroughs!
He also has to craft himself some warm clothing if he wants to go up North.
On one of the trips to Whiterun he couldn't resist the urge to punch Nazeem in the face after witnessing how he insulted the people of the marketplace...so he got a 40 gold fine, but it was worth it!

I'm thinking he also has to get a few levels in if he wants to attempt the

Stormcloak joining. That one's tough, and at low levels he might not survive so it would be foolish, and Malik is anything but a fool!

Femten made it through the other Dragon fight, by hiding around the corner while Booty Sweat got in close.

After that was over, (thank God) she went back to the room, at the College, to dump that extra loot and headed out to
Spoiler
meet the others. Going through the ruin, wasn't too bad. There was a Draugr Scruge? I know that is not it, but still...he was tuffer than the Boss. Not sure what that was about.

Now that is behind us, she needed a helper, to get to a carriage. Fearing an open conflict with another Dragon or two, she got the aid of this Dark Elf chick. Hopefully they can make it to Windhelm. They encountered no Dragons, but almost as bad was a run in with a few Necromages. I am playing on Master...but DAMN! Just at level 10, these guys seem to have 500 HPs. I am also running the PISE mod, so that may have some influence as well.

We finally made it to the house in Riverwood. She took the goods that the Dunmer was caring for her and set her on her way. We have got to get some help, tracking around with no fast travel. Besides, she needs to move on and keep the Thalmor at bay. She needs a mobile shop. She needs a follower that can pack her entire collected inventory, as well as camping gear, an Alchemy and Enchanting table. She needs a Giant.

Getting wind of a Gentle Giant held prisoner in the jail at Morthal, Femten decides to head that way, but not before another battle with a you-know-what. Two of the three wives met their end, but old Booty Sweat held his own - http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559814205070683623/7F884708D8492E045B431BC4BFC1489E40DBF87C/ as Femten takes cover as usual. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559814205070689465/105701DB944462CD67090BAE24AF9CE3401A9673/ all the while taking pop shots with elemental spells.

She got the local Wood Elf to assist her in springing the Giant, from jail. They headed out Whiterun and hailed a carriage to Morthal. Arriving in Morthal, at Dusk - http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559814205070694198/6C7DC6F83598EBD8B6888BCEAA87AA656BF7E132/ and waiting till nightfall, she got the Wood Elf to pick the lock to the Guard House. They slipped in and out, with no confrontation.

Meet Tiny - http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559814205069708647/CE2D038B2CF4AE9EEAD646448F8BCC7CC3BBE0CC/ Although he only about half the size of normal Giant, he can carry 1000 lbs of gear. That should do it.

I have been playing without fast travel for some time now, but no map markers, is proving to be more and more difficult. I guess I need to watch the stars a lot closer. We got turned around and ended up in Dawnstar. Sadly there is no carriage. We have an even further trip back to Riverwood.

I hope these guys can hold of a surprise attack from the sky. The Riverwood trader has a huge amount of awesome Conjuration books. This is from the Conjuration mod that implements the creatures from the Monster Mod. There are several Dragon Books, However they are all above the 5000g mark. And they probably cost a 1000 Magicka to cast. Still, we need one.

I just hope we can make it back.

Officially starting a DiD character.

Name: Vendreth Telvanni

Race: Dunmer

Class: Mage, Well rounded, Intellectual.

I intend to focus on Conjuration, Destruction, and Alteration. Vendreth will likely wear robes but will work towards heavily enchanted armor at higher levels. I'm playing on xbox360 so I have no other choice than to start at Helgen.

Vendreth is fond of all things dwemer and was raised by dwemer archeologist who had been excavating in Elswyr during the Red Year. He was traveling to Skyrim to join the College of Wintehold when he was captured and accused of falsehoods. Upon escape from Helgen, he will likely join the college and later reside in Markarth where he will study both magic and machine.

The early levels are much rougher for this style of play, since you don't have much (if any) margin for error and cannot reload a failed battle. Triggering Dragons early doesn't help either, especially on higher difficulties where they will one-shot you with a breath attack.

Then again, that's actually part of the appeal; by playing this way, losing the character actually means something, since he or she is gone for good. It also encourages a more tactical approach to battles, since blindly charging in is too risky until/unless you have top-end equipment. Which, in turn, often gets people to look at normally seldom-used items and/or spells in a new light, as they can prove useful in a more deliberate combat scheme.

It also (at least for some of us) encourages sticking to a given role; since the character is seen more as an actual person than simply a user avatar, his or her decisions and equipment choices become more important, as they are part of the character's background and personality.

I can't put it much better than GM did. For me, it's about the continuous experience you have from the start, not how far you get. Those are a fraction of the total graveyard. The rest are listed in the OP of the previous threads, linked at the top of this OP. Several have made it rather far and those that just end up retiring their characters without ever falling, are not listed. Hmmm...maybe we need to do something about that.

Name: Sevan Ne'dra
Race: Dunmer
Class: Sneaky ranger, with a great sword for things too close and makes his own armor.

Sevan loves the wilderness and thus lives outdoors. He has no problems commiting crimes for his own good (the camp he's at he murdered a fellow Hunter for) and hunts each day so he can get food. He only goes into town to buy supplies and sell the loot he finds.

Today he murdered a Hunter for her camp, hunted some elk, and found a fort taken over by necromancers. He cleared the fort and came out at level 4 with a few scratches. He at and slept for the day.

The gang made camp, just outside Dawnstar. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559814205074118721/096F355A64C702EC5ACEBA16787087A4A11EC131/The next morning they made there way towards Whiterun. Along the way they ran into two sets of Thalmor Justicars. One before reaching Whiterun and another before reaching Riverwood. Femten did not idly pass by. The Thalmor bodies littered the roadways.

They encountered zero Dragons, until...

With the bridge to Riverwood in sight, the ground shook and the sunlight was blocked out from three Spark Dragons. Now I know I have this modded to increase the amount and the power of these things, but Jesus...

Femten ran into town, chugging pots hand over fist. Once in town, I don't know what happened but there were only two. I guess one got sidetracked, huh? Three years later, we had one on the ground.
http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559814205074111066/26250B0BEC2593417B61D02B8E5E9D54A9694FAC/ I had to put Femten at the door of the Blacksmith's house and throw Booty Sweat in the center of town. While he kept the flier occupied. Femten would launch fireballs at the grounded one.

Eventually it was over. I had lost both the followers, somewhere. They eventually showed up and we collected our goods and traded with the merchant. We had a boat load of loot. Enough to get one of those Dragon Summons and another melee fighter. A Dremora Mistress...ooohhh...she is badass. I will post shots later.

We continued with the Mage quest to

Fellglow Keep. She left Tiny outside and went in with Fendrel and the Dremora Mistress. I had been through this twice before, with other characters, but this time I was truly nervous.

About the time we reached Dude. I had just summoned Chick. Then it was silence. I thought no more of it. We started to progress through the keep. For the next three areas we encountered no resistance. I found out what happened to the Dremora Mistress.

She went postal on the Keep, until her timer ran out or she fell in battle.

I almost lost my first character to this Boss. I did loose my next one here, so I was a little jumpy, to say the least. But...between the Dremora Mistress w/ her Daedric style Headsman's Axe and Femten laying down the Lightning, the Boss fell rather easy.

Now, it looks as if we are on foot back to the College. I guess word got back to Whiterun about the Thalmor Justicars and Femten has a price on her head. That price grew 10 fold when she refused the Guards and took a few of them out as well.

She currently sits with about a 40,000 crime tab, that will never be paid...except in blood.

Uruk gro-Ghorak was out looking for ore to mine and almost fell twice during his trip around the city of Whiterun.

the first, was an attack from a sabre cat that caught him unaware while he was dispatching a trio of mudcrabs along the river east of Whiterun. luckily, Uruk was able to scramble to the other side of the river, thereby, giving him the recovery time needed to take on and kill the beast.

soon afterwards, Uruk came upon a couple of bandits that were milling around a camp containing a horse and wagon that they looked to have recently raided. upon killing the 2, Uruk was quickly ambushed by a trio of bandits, one of which, was a magic-user. Uruk was forced to flee and thankfully made it to safety near the Whiterun entrance where some guards helped him hold off the bandit mage that had continued to pursue him.

Fully recovered, Uruk made his way back to the camp and became so angry at their lack of honor with the ambush he called upon his inherent berserker rage. all 3 were soon dead at his feet.

Uruk returned to Whiterun and entered the The Bannered Mare where he spent the evening with some food, drink and good company.

This is my first DiD character and my second role play one. I'm really enjoying the playstyle and the added connection it brings to my character. :tes:

Welcome, welcome! Both to the Forums and to the DiD! Good luck on your adventures!
Rock on Malik!

I all but consider that mine as part of the tutorial, any more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The gang made camp, just outside Dawnstar. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559814205074118721/096F355A64C702EC5ACEBA16787087A4A11EC131/The next morning they made there way towards Whiterun. Along the way they ran into two sets of Thalmor Justicars. One before reaching Whiterun and another before reaching Riverwood. Femten did not idly pass by. The Thalmor bodies littered the roadways.

True, by Shor, so true! I think I can go through that mine with my eyes closed!

I just love reading about your adventures. And now that you are on PC and you post screenshots it's even more captivating! The camp one is my fav!

************ Update**********

Holy crap and mother of all things unholy! Skyrim scared me at some points (like make me jump out of my chair) - but I never thought it will give me one of those creepy-eerie-scary feelings!

Oh boy, was I wrong!

So I was heading through the Falkreath forest in search of the mythical Unicorn I just installed. And I was all la-la-la wandering (I don't have map markers/compass/quest markers either) and time went by, and before I knew it it was dawn. I managed to reach Falkreath Watchtower,

Spoiler
killed the Necromancer
and it turned nighttime, really dark.

So as I walked out of the Watchtower to find a place to setup camp...oh crap! I heard the most creepy sound I ever heard in Skyrim in all my gazillion hours of playtime! I can't even describe it. It was like a high-pitched wailing, like a very-distorted woman's scream. Being familiar with the story of the

Spoiler
Woodcutter's Wife
I kinda froze and got all goosebumpy!

But the curiosity was way greater than the fear so I followed the sound. Oh, and I have to mention, this was happening while it was nighttime in real life also, headphones on, lights out in the freaking room!

As I approached the source it was getting creepier and creepier. Closer...just a bit closer...the sound is getting louder...I slowly walk into a little clearing to be greeted....

By a FREAKING ELK!!!

It was sitting there, staring at me and screaming it's creepy song!

I loaded up the UESP and read that "Occasionally, either species can be heard bugling for mates."

But man, that was a creepy yet awesome encounter! Needless to say, I'll be doing more exploring of the Falkreath forest at night!

Thank you, yet you are too kind.

I turn the music off and have The Sounds of Skyrim (The Wilds and The Dungeons) installed. That is an amazing experience with the pitch black dungeons ( I need to adjust my nighttime ini file settings, as it's not dark enough ) it gets really intense. The nights, when pitch black, are the most spooky. Especially when you run out of torches and have no other light source. Then get attacked by something, with no warning.

Playing with the Xbox controller, you get the rumble effect, which is the one thing that makes me leave my seat, every time. The thing that makes me jump the most, is stepping on a set of bones. I guess it simulates you twisting your ankle or something, because you take damage. I am kind of expecting something in the dark, but when I am just meandering in the light, I am not expecting as much because I can see. Then I step on some bones, the controller rumbles, my character yells out, the screen get blotted with blood and my feet leave the ground.
