Post » Sun May 13, 2012 8:40 am

Howdy, and welcome to the land of beer and hard liquor. This thread is dedicated to the finer pleasures in life, i.e. booze. What's your favourite beer? Favourite whisky? Post your mixed drinks so we can try! Your post is invited, as long as you're drinking. As per the normal rules, no spam. Well have at ya!

Anyone ever done a gas chamber? Apparently we'll be having them next week at a friend's party, they sound dreadful. Setting fire to Sambuca and then inhaling the smoke or something. I'll stick with lager, cheers.

I somehow knew you would eventually make a thread like this.

I'm not a huge fan of beer, but strangely I really like Guinness. It's kind of like saying I'm not a fan of depressing movies, but I really like Schindler's List.

As for a favourite drink, I'm going to have to go with a Vodka Coke. Cider is a close second.

There are way to many good ones to give a favorite but I can narrow it down. I hate Tequila in all forms, conversely I love whiskey, whisky, bourbon and spiced rums. Jameson 18 is delicious as is Gentleman Jack. Kraken, Salor Jerry and Captian Mo are tastey as well.

Beer, my friend, is a story all it's own....

There is an Icelandic beer called Viking... it's amazing.

If we are talking about hard liquor then I like a good kamikaze (with blue curacao if it's available)

I've started a list of beers to try. This has now been added.

Alright then I should explain that it's actually called http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=viking+gylltur&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=L9sMT8rYC8XB8QOJud3EBQ&biw=1364&bih=682&sei=NdsMT-6gBIKt8gPKn-GtBg (Gylltur means "Golden")

I'm completely unsurprised by the identity of the OP.

With regards to drinking, I usually buy the cheapest Vodka+Mixer, due to my student budget, and I've actually grown to love it.
Not the biggest fan of most alcohol but some Ciders are lovely, as are some stronger beverages.

Jaegerbombs are my favourite though. I knock them back more easily than air. ^_^

Gotta say my tastes have changed quite a bit

I used to not be able to stand beer but now I rarely go without having at least a beer or two a night. It's especially nice because I don't get completely [censored] up but I get a little bit of a buzz so I can go to work in a decent state.

If I drink hard booze it's either rum or vodka. I haven't tried whiskey yet but I have a bottle of Jim Bean double aged and a bottle of Jack with honey that I'm waiting to try (when work slows down and I get a bit of time off).

Gin is my current hard liquor of choise. Mixes with pretty much anything better than vodka does, imo. I like whiskey too, but not mixed with other stuff.

Don't like the taste of most beers. There are a few I don't mind, but I prefer to stay away. With that, I do enjoy my whiskey, brandy, and rum. Don't usually take to mixed drinks, though I do sometimes like to mix brandy with ginger ale.

There's this one really good vodka I've tried, Firefly I think, which was flavored like sweet tea. It was really strong though, but really good. Alcohol isn't something I'll ever be drinking much of though, it just really doesn't appeal to me at all.

Absinthe is a rather good drink. If you're weak with the taste of most hard liquors, but like the taste of black licorice, or can stand it better, then you'll like Absinthe.

There's a lot of [censored] absinthe though. Stuff that just taste like eating grass, I have some sitting in an old coke bottle. :P
And getting a hold of the old kind might be a bit hard depending on where you live.

Mexican Bulldogs. There's this one with spiced rum, rasberry puree, mango curacao topped with a bottle of Stella Artois.

Also, I love just Stella Artois. So smooth I can sip it all night.

That's true. A friend of mine bought a bottle once, and it didn't taste at all like black licorice, but had a weird grittiness to it. Didn't like it at all, but the type I bought is good. Still have about a third of a bottle left, I think?

Favourite whiskey is probably Green Spot. Haven't had any in a long while though, I should get another bottle. And hide it from my other half. <_<

Moosehead
Alexander Keith's
Molson Canadian

Are the top three beers I like. As for other booze, I really don't have a favourite.

Favorite beer? Well, if it has the consistency of syrup and is blacker than the blackest black times infinity, then I'll love it. From what I have currently saved as my alcohol champions, the Rogue Imperial Stout is my #1. As for other beers, that list is too long. I just love beer! Well, save for cheap [censored] that comes in cans. That's water flavored with piss.

Currently though, I'm in a gin frenzy, and I [censored] LOVE Hendricks.

As for whiskeys, my little brother did give me an 8 year old bourbon called "Basil Hayden's." It's VERY smooth and pretty good. Though I don't drink much of it, as I'm trying to save it for special occasions. Good whiskey is not something to waste.

Though, for all the alcohol out there, there is only one that kills me, tequilla. That stuff has a 90% chance of making me vomit on the walls. I can drink just about everything else, but hand me tequilla, and I'm going to make a mess everywhere.
