Just happened upon a page about video game themed cocktails. The Uncharted one definitely sounds tasty to me.
I've had a few of the Pokémon cocktails that guy created, they are amazing.

I haven't tried the water-pokémon drinks because I'm not a big fan of rum (except when I'm drinking Captain Pepper) but the Ivysaur one is one of my favourite drinks

This thread needs more Vodka Red Bull, the only alcoholic drink I like.

No it doesn't, that's foul.

I drink mostly any kind of beer or ale, though my current favourite is Blue Moon.

As for hard liquor, I like to drink anything with rum, jagermeister and goldschlager. The only hard liguor I stay clear from is whiskey.

I also have taken a recent liking to mead, after having bought a bottle to celebrate the release of skyrim.

EDIT: Btw a great hard drink that I recently discovered is mixing jagermeister and goldschlager together in a shot.

I've never tried mead. Might see if I can pick some up tonight.

More info please. It's almost impossible to find strong beers and ales here.

Its called Old Tom Original and according to the bottle its been voted the 'World's Best Ale'. Actually does have a really nice flavor to it as well for such a strong beer.

Having a pre-going-out cosmo (ready mixed stuff on offer in Tesco). My strategy is to get just tipsy enough tonight that I don't start feeling the pain from heels, but not so drunk that I forget how to walk in them.

Brewdog's American Double (Tesco Finest), is really good, and comes in around 9.5%.

And, of course, there's Sink The Bismarck at 41%, but I've never tried it myself.

Cool, I'll keep my eye out for these. I imagine they're a bit more expensive too?

American Double is about £2 for a 330ml bottle in Tesco. hardcoe IPA (9.2%) is £2.60 for a 330ml bottle on the Brewdog website.

Wow, I was expecting double that. I'll have to go to Tesco this week. I know what I'm drinking next weekend so.

It's depressing how long it took me to find this thread. Favourite drinks aren't particularly original, beer and whiskey. Basically whatever's going at the time as I'm an unemployed 19 y/o. Though I prefer Australian beers, Carlton Draught and VB, which apparently sells a slab every second. Which is awesome.

To add to the discussion, are alcohol ads everywhere as good as the one's here? The one's Carlton Draught put out are amazing.
Also, what do you fine, upstanding folks suggest for a bloke whose hip-pocket is a little light when look for liquid refreshment?

Absinthe is a rather good drink. If you're weak with the taste of most hard liquors, but like the taste of black licorice, or can stand it better, then you'll like Absinthe.
Almost forgot to respond to this. Firstly, good to see you 'round again Doc
Secondly, there's a mate of mine who can't hold his liquor particularly well. We're getting him absinthe for his birthday, which is next month. I'll post what details I remember when it happens

You might be surprised. An absinthe drunk is unlike any other kind of drunk. For me, I'm far more lucid and I tend to retain most of my coordination. I also find I can drink significantly more absinthe without blacking out than if I was drinking something like whiskey or vodka. Also, any hangovers I've had from drinking absinthe have been very mild.

At 101 proof it goes down smooth. I remember I drank an entire bottle of it in a few hours cause you don't realize how powerful it is. I do remember the next day I didn't function too well. In fact, I didn't work a full 8 hour day I ended up going home an hour after I started to sleep.

On an unrelated note, your PM box is full; I just tried to send you a PM but it got kicked back.

The last time I drank a lot of absinthe I felt... I dunno. Different. It was a bit odd, really. I thought there wasn't supposed to be enough of the substance in question in there to make any difference. Maybe I should eat some dog worming tablets and compare the effects.

The amount of thujone varies. Most modern absinthes have negligible amounts. There is one brand that is made the way it was hundreds of years ago and is absolutely amazing, but it costs over €200 a bottle and is very hard to find. :(

It won't be this stuff, it's just bog-standard Hapsburg, the green stuff in the tall bottle. It definitely seemed a bit different to other booze, though that may just be the power of suggestion...

No, hardcoe would be 30%, at the very least.
