The Unofficial Booze Thread

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 8:15 pm

So yeah Christmas was awesome this year. Got a 7 pint keg of St Peter's Ale, and 10 bottles of assorted ales based on my uni choices. I've managed to drink them all...

Hmmm. Don't remember starting this thread.

I've been meaning to ask you this for some time, how the hell is your drunk typing so bloody good? Whenever I try it it looks like an illiterate Northerner got at my keyboard.

I am hoping when people drink strongbow they drink it because it is there and cheap as opposed to it being nice? There are far far nicer ciders out there, you just can't get them easily in the pub (or cheaply).

I saw someone drink Strongbow at a festival when they were selling Brothers cider, which wasn't a massive amount more than Strongbow. Philistines.

You forgot Bishop's Finger.

I looked up the origin of its name a while back; it's actually quite innocent, but it sounds anything but. :o

Drinking is overrated. there is only one good thing about it and that is increased sensation during six. A nice cold beer on a hot day can be great too, but other than that its a waste of time imo.

I remember drinking snakebite and black years ago. I know I loved it at the time but I have no recollection of what it tastes like now.

It tastes like sick. At least it does about 20 minutes after you've drunk it.

I tend to drink Becks, because it's one of the few lagers I can get a decent pint of that doesn't cost a small fortune. I'd drink ales more but seeing as I average 3 pints an hour it causes the nights to be cut short more often than now.

Spirit of choice would be dark rum, mixed with Pepsi usually so I don't get too drunk, too quickly. After that, I'll drink anything but Jack Daniels and those foul multi-coloured shots. "Shotz"/Sambuca and the like

I don't count Sambuca as a real shot. It has to be at least 37.5% to be a real shot.

I bought shares in Brewdog last month. Because I love their beers, and a little part of me revelled in the fact I was taking part in the collective pissing off of CAMRA, who should be buried firmly in the 12th Century. BC.

As far as bizarre titled ales go, I am fond of Old Peculiar.

As far as snakebite and the likes... Buy me it and I shall drink it. I don't go out drinking too much these days, but when I do... Yeah, I'll be the guy calling for shots after the first round.

Sadly not. Heading off to New York on Monday though, which I hear has seen its fair share of Irish people. Not that that helps much, just thought I'd slip it in there. Unsubtly.

At £95/four shares, it's certainly worth the punt. Their value is just going up and up just now.

Mmm, beer. I prefer lagers. Like Budweiser Budvar, Heineken, and Nordlands Pils(a norwegian beer).

Other than that i mostly drink cognac, akvavit and whiskey.

I dont like mixing stuff, unless its karsk(vodka/moonshine and coffee).

Just happened upon a page about video game themed cocktails. The Uncharted one definitely sounds tasty to me.

I've never got that close to a bottle of the stuff, what ever it is it should be destroyed with vehemence.
