Is there anything in F:NV that you will miss in Fallout 3?

Post » Tue Jan 11, 2011 12:18 pm

The Jefferson Memorial, as Thomas Jefferson is such an inspiration to me. The very quotable Liberty Prime & Sergeant RL-3, who hate commies as much as I do. I'll likely miss the atmosphere a bit as well -- it depends on how well I like the one in New Vegas. I'll certainly miss Liam Neeson's voice acting, too. I might even miss hating Roy Phillips.

I'll miss Butcher Pete. What am I going to do now without "hackin' it, wackin' it, smackin' it"?

I'm going to miss Vault 101, the Chinese Assault Rifle, and those kick ass Chinese Jumpsuits :sadvaultboy: (I still have my fingers crossed that the Devs of NV decided to re-use the texture in some way, shape or form)

^ ^ I completely agree with this, (Although I will not miss Chinese stealth armour)

Yeah I'm gonna miss him too. He was a bit repetative but his tunes kept me calm during some tense moments down in those tunnels.

Indeed, I loved the Chinese Stealth Armor, and I abused it extensively, but I'm always down for new items.

I will miss Megaton. I remember how I did a new playthrough and decided to blow up megaton in it: I ended up missing the town and the people.

I will miss the utter devastation of it: I like the idea of a post-apocalyptic world where people are really struggling to get back on form and only small pockets of society exist. But I am looking forward to the new factions this time round.

I will NOT miss the Enclave or Metro tunnels

Three Dog, AWOOOOO!

I'm glad that he's gone in NV.He annoyed me in FO3.I did like how he would comment on what you did for some quests...even though they annoyed me too.

Exploring the massive Ruins that distracted you on the way to your goal Was extremely fun for me. As you were walking about something would catch your eye and you would go to explore it, when you were done with that place another place was visible on the horizon.

Three Dog, AWOOOOO!

I'm glad he isn't here.
Couldn't enjoy the music or other radio programs because I knew that the three dogs might come on and start their howling.
So I hope he dies. (Myron was awesome but he died, three dogs should die too IMO.)

Yea that first time I stepped out of the vault feeling.

I'll DEFINATELY miss picking through the ruins of DC, I just loved stumbling into the capitol building and there's a friggen behomoth. I dunno, I just loved DC (Although I did find it a bit restrective but that was part of the fun too - trying to find a way to the next part.

I'll miss quests like: Find the Declaration of Independence, it was so LOL.

I'll also miss The Pitt DLC.

I'll miss the area of the capital wasteland that had all the stat com arrays - that part had a unique atmosphere.

Also the background music when you are in the wasteland with no radio on.

Andale and Dunwich building, Fallout 3 was such a fun game to just explore.

Hope there is some sort of Vault like 101 in NV, and some other cool quest like "Trouble on the Homefront".

What I'm going to miss though is definitely the history and buildings that were in DC. It is a recognizable city, so on my venture to the Lincoln Memorial, I would wonder what it was going to look like - or what the rotunda of the Capitol looked like - or how they did the National Archives.

I don't know much about 50's Vegas besides the Rat Pack and the city being run by the Mob.

Green Hud

You can change HUD color back to green in options.
You can change the HUD color to amber in Fallout 3 as well.

Not really I'm ready for a change. If I want to see something from Fallout 3 I'll play it.

Stepping out of the vault for the first time, knowing that you are about to embark on a crazy/amazing adventure. It probably wont feel as epic this time. Bethesda did a really good job with that scene, it was about all the immersion i needed to spend 400+ hours playing F3. :P

All i knew about F3 when i started playing was that it was a open game and ran off the same engine as Oblivion. Which was all i needed to know really.

lol exactlly, or getting you "lump of brain" from point lookout and killing people with knowledge!

This

If they don't bring back the rock-it launcher I will miss giving out a steady stream of oneliners when killing people with junk.

I break you with my mind ( Lump of brain)

I will love you....to death (teddy bear)

Smoking kills (carton of ciggerettes)

Knowledge is my greatest weapon (books)

You have reached the state of nirvana (light bulb)

Jimmy you forgot your lunch! (lunch box)

I will erase you from exsistence! (pencil)

I'm gonna fill you full of lead! (pencil)

Time to trim the hedges and/or turkey (ripper) -ok not junk but still pun worthy.

Yeah DC's atmosphere was awesome and unique, but i'm happy that they moved on to a brand new and way different atmosphere for new vegas. I'm not sure about what weapons we're gonna have in new vegas, but i bet anything that fallout 3 weapons will be back muh friend. I agree about the invisible walls, but what would you have them do?? Maybe something like in morrowind that there were no invisible walls but if you tried to swim to the main land you would get a never ending sea too cross. :P Maybe we could get a never ending dessert that leads to nowhere.. It's better then getting stopped by magic barriers! Am i right?! Or am i RIGHT!? Is there anyone else!? IS THERE ANYONE ELSE!!?!!

I dunno if it was a glitch, but one time, in Fallout 3, I got over a wall in DC that I don't think I was supposed to go across. It was totally insane. I started walking away from DC, toward a never ending, barren field of white nothingness. After a while, I ran backward so I could watch the city leave my view. After a while...DC was out of view. And I ran for almost 15 minutes IRL. Then, I checked my pip boy map. And to my surprise...It said I was still in DC, at the edge of the map. I ran back toward DC for another long while, but couldn't get back. I had to fast travel...and that crashed my game. It was kinda scary, but cool, and mystifying in its own way.
