Things You Wanted In Dawnguard But Never Got.

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 7:20 pm

Well this sounds kinda petty next to the rest of these, but the two things I want are:

1) The chance to marry Serana. I frustrates me to no end that the nicest, most attractive, deepest, most emotionally developed character; the one character that seems in love with me and the one character I could see myself falling in love with is the one character I CAN'T marry (that I would want to). And of course other interactions would be awesome ;)

2) More characters with the kind of depth you gave Serana. If Skyrim's main/most interactive characters were this deep (companions especially), It would be on another level of awesomeness. Just saying ;)

spears, real spears not the two handed pikes
Spears you use one handed in combination with a shield , a basic weapon combination that was used for more than 4000 years in our own history and doesn't seem to exsist in tamriel sad sad fail

EDIT just look at greek and germanic myths and legends , those heroes didn't used swords they used spears

well others have said it, and so will I...

All I wanted from Dawnguard is a chance to play it.

- Destroy weapons and armor you don't need to make new equipment you do need (Two Worlds 2)
- Call your horse when you need it (Red Dead Redemption)
- Buy or built a house, mansion, castle... and decorate your own house (Scarface)
- More personal information and quests regarding followers (Mass Effect)
- More gore (Fallout)
- A way to actually spend all your money when you have to much, maybe buy and invest in shops (GTA Vice City)
- Choices influence the game more (Dragon Age)

I wanted Chrysamere.. the paladin's blade. I was anoyed when it was taken out of the game in Obliv, and was hoping the Dawnguard would get it in a quest. A war hammer that puts fire runes on the ground is a cool toy but why only axes and hammers?!

Thank you for posting this on Dawnguard General Discussion forum without spoiler tags. Now I know about the hammer you mentioned even I haven't seen it yet. Next time you may try to write your post like this:

My dream is a mounted battle like in LotR 3 when the Rohirrim charge the Orc army in front of Minas Tirith. Maybe someday in future.

They've added mounted combat, so that might not be so far off.

More Snow Elves, a Soul Cairn with it's own world map, and a wider variety of crossbows and bolts (although I'm sure someone will mod in the full variety any day now. XD) A way to do the Dawnguard / Volkihar questline without having a companion (I like having party members in traditional RPGS, but not EVER in action ones, mostly because they're inevitably stupid and computer run. I find having a companion in an Elder Scrolls game instantly limits my options and svcks half the fun out of the game.)

Tbh, having a follower doubles the fun for me. I always love having backup and some of the things a follower will do, or can do, amazes me a lot...

Do you think they could do a DLC, with Molag Bal, Hircine, and maybe 1 other. You would have to go to each realm and complete a task to gather a piece of an ancient artifact.

Oooo! This! ^^
I like the current Molag Bal quest for his mace, but how much more epic would it be to be pulled into his realm in order to get it  ...and maybe visit Coldharbor.

To add to my list:
  • Full faced helmets and masks that actually "hide" your appearance. Perhaps some mild recognition with NPCs you deal with regularly while "masked"...but switching armor and helmets should conceal your identity. Sounds simple enough, but I know execution of this would likely be a nightmare. Even still...it would be great to see
  • Some Vampire Politics! I'd like to stealth or fight or "dialog game" my way into a deep cave of vampires, confront their leader and negotiate with them. If we can come to an arrangement then they join with me, The Vampire Lord, if not then we go to war. Once one small coven is allied or destroyed, move to another, then another, x10 or so. Keep it in flux so that there are always upstarts that are trying to get a better deal from you, trying to assassinate you, should the leader die then another will take his place and you gotta renegotiate. Again, sounds simple enough, but I know it would be a nightmare to implement. Still...it would be great

Different stories for Dawnguard and Vampire factions. I mean, completely the same quest line for both, really Bethesda?! It hurts, you know.

And lore-friendly Volkihar and Cyrodiilic vampires ... Especially the Volkihar. They seemed to be so great. I realize it's hard to implement, but as things are now, it looks like the devs gave up on them.

Nothing else really, I don't like imagining too much about something in the future. It's better to keep expectations low, or at least on a neutral level. And hey, Dawnguard brought a lot of fun things with it too. Besides, I trust some patches are still in the works to solve problems with and enhance Dawnguard, so my final verdict on the dlc will be withheld until later.

no bugs in KoA: The Reckoning. none that i've found anyway. Darksiders is glitch free. Bioshock, Neir,Assassin's Creed, Darkwatch, Splatterhouse, Conan, Final Fantasy 13, Too Human, all run smoothly for me. Infact very few of the games i enjoy ship as badly bugged as a bethesda title. heck, none of the mistakes found during DG beta testing were fixed yet. And i've come to expect that they likely wont. I still have fun playing Beth titles, but they've earned their reputation for being glitchy as sin.

I hate companions cause they get stuck in doorways and wont let me out...

I agree. I've played alot of those games and never had a single glitch, bug, or lag. Skyrim was actually the worst running game I've ever played, but I still enjoyed it

These games might be at best 90% bugfree but there are always some users who experience bugs or glitches. For example, I had only two or three bugs in Skyrim in over 200 hours of gameplay. The experience is from user to user different.

Here are two more! :D
*Not necessarily "dawnguard" related...but would still be fantastic!
  • Sit Anywehre. That mod for the PC looks great!...so we need it on the consoles.
  • A linked chest, one per house you own, which is linked between every character you create. So if I have 3 characters I'm running and lets say two of them own Breezehome, then within Breezehome there would be a chest whose inventory they both can access. When my 3rd character finally purchases Breezehome then he too can access that chest (provided he purchases it).
