This game is nothing special, who agree with me?

But... but... there isn't a lot of content.

I went back and checked my save and there was more than 10 hours. But it was only 17, not 30. I don't know, I guess I rushed through it or something. It's also shockingly linear in comparison to Skyrim.

I guess that's the big thing. No other game attempts to do what Bethesda attempts to do. It dwarfs other games in so many areas that are important to me as a gamer.

Yea you rushed it, missed some quests likely, but that game you need to play twice, as each path is an entirely different game with different quests and motivations, never mind what you find out about other characters. that you would not playing just once. I saved after that little town in the woods and did the other path without playing through the castle again. Both plays took me roughly 70 hours together. So yea it's shorter then Skyrim, but damn juicy. Still this has been a great year for RPG's, I'm just happy we got all these great games in a year, but damn it might be dry in 2012.

You should care too. It's a videogame. If the story is the only thing you care, read books. If you play videogames, start caring about the graphics.

I didn't thinking anyone but the OP was going to make a comment this asinine. You surprised me with that one.

Step backwards from what? The piss mainstream fest that is video games of the last 11-13 years spurned mainly by consoles, and hugely Nintendo and Sony to blame? Skyrim is an improvement. Mildly. But an improvement.

Thats the problem with gamers these days. They see a superior game and think "omg I gotta think, I gotta figure stuff out for myself, this is backwards because it doesnt hold my hand" and instead of seeing it for the gem it is, dismiss it because it doesnt follow the mainstream garbage games.

its simply put: them confusing a great game as garbage because it doesnt follow the main stream mindless garbage games and actually pushes them to make something of themselves, or htink for themselves.

If you care about graphics start doing real life. By your amazing logic.

Actually, I'd like to stress something here. Graphics are important. They are NOT, however, the end-all be-all of a game. People who refuse to play a game because the graphics look "outdated" astound me. Clearly, such a person could never go back and play some of the classics.

The dragon flying, landing and breathing aren't animations?
The dragon moving it's wings, setting foot on ground and the breath of fire, aren't animations? Please enlighten me.

I can confirm. Those are animations.

I don't think you are right.

Although it runs good for me I have to agree that most of the quests are fairly simple and the storyline had nothing to surprise me yet. I played for over 50 hours now and must say that it sounds and looks good but nearly all quests can be simply completed with hack & slay, the riddles within the dungeons are rather simple and you don't have to use your brain very much.

Compared to Morrowind and also to Oblivion this game is a step backwards in both complexity and storytelling. I also see that the motivation to play this game a second or a third time is lower then in its predecessors.

I'd say up your difficulty, and I think the puzzles are supposed to add variety to the dungeons, and to use items in-game that are necessary to complete a dungeon, again, to add variety, so it's not just you running right through. Although the side quests might be simple, they are fun to complete and can boost your gold a little. Some quests are long and fun though, just find the right ones.

I respect your opinion of the game, but mine still stays as pure awesomeness.

It seems as though you and I couldn't disagree more.

Oh, and by the way, get off your damn high horse and stop acting like a pompous ass. Just because you don't like the game doesn't mean that your some sort of connoisseur of gaming.

Once you reach puberty you'll rage less over someone not liking things in the same way as yourself. You'll also have hopefully learned what "pompous ass" means, and understand that it defined yourself in your post there. "Pompous" is not sharing an opinion or saying that you agree with someone. "Pompous" is raging vitriol on someone because they shared an opinion and said they agreed with someone. So you fulfilled the definitions of "pompous" and "ass" pretty thoroughly, as well as the definition of "irony." Silly kid.

I think the OP must be someone on the Witcher staff who secrelty loves Skyrim and wishes that the Witcher series was of the same quality and didnt have to rely on dirty gimiks like nudity and prostitution to move copies. The Witcher had its 10 minutes of fame and now will be collecting dust while everyone plays Skyrim for the next 3 years.

Giving this game 9.5/10 is simply incredible.

This game constantly crashes, has a horrible framerate also on ultra high end configurations despite the really bad graphics (2007pc game are far better than this in terms of graphics quality), if you see a shadow sometime in the game you are lucky,
the player has no voice, the textures are blurry and very low detail, the sound effect is really basic and repetitive, the menu is tricky, the animations
are bad, most characters slides instead of walking, no particles, no shaders, the water seems to be a texture, the smoke is something seen in Quake 3 Arena.
the story is really fragmented and difficult to follow for a first time player of the saga, I played several hours but I don't understood who I am, how I'm there and why.
The first hour of the game is something like, take this letter here and than give this letter to x and than give this object to y.
The mouse movement is strange, it seems to use a pad instead of a mouse.

I'm playing since many hours but this game is not engaging me, I'm continuing to play just to understand how people can say that this
is a great game, should I see something that will change my thinking?

What have this game that rocks?
But how can a game with such huge limitations and problems take 9.5/10 in reviews?

I agree with everything this man says. If you stop and take a good look at it, this game is pretty bad. The reason why it's being touted as so great is because the quality of "AAA" games being released for the PC has fallen below absolute [censored] level. So a game like this is considered "great".

And what REALLY riles me is because Beth aren't gonna do [censored] about it other than maybe fix a few common crashes and major bugs. It's the modding community that will end up transforming this game into something spectacular. Just like with Oblivion, which was [censored] in it's vanilla state, and was saved by the modding community.
I guess Beth thinks they've got a really good deal for themselves: make a crappy game that for consoles is actually gonna be really awesome, and the PC version? Oh just leave it, the modders will do our work for us.

There are animations for those things. Describing the movement is not an animation itself, and a person saying "something that does these certain actions isn't a great animation?" is being foolish. Describing the action of the animation does nothing to establish whether the animation itself is quality or not. Animation is how the action is recreated, not what the action is.

Even if that was their attitude (which obviously it's not), I'd be fine with that. It just so [censored] worth it if we end up getting a game this great.

This game is amazing. Oblivion is an aming game. Some people just need to get off of their high horse.
