Too much make-up?

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 2:07 am

They're presets with the purpose of showing off what can be done in character gen. Of course you don't need to wear makeup. We've seen many female NPC's in game with makeup. The most recent GI and PC gamer screes show that.

Thanks, that's a relief.

Give it a rest and stop making so many damn threads.

DEAL WITH IT.

Also, in regards to makeup, it only looks good if there is very little of it.

Also also, this issue is so minor, that it hurts my soul.

Well guess what, it wasn't. And no, it's not subjective.

Warpaint is so much easier and much less expensive to put on than the make-up you see the presets wearing.
tribal cosmetics =/= modern cosmetics

Maybe the male population of Skyrim has high standards or something.

I don't believe anyone here believes the women of skyrim were going to their local macy's and buying some Mac. I believe charcoal and plant stains would of been used with both war paints and "makeup" war paints would of maybe added clay or what not to thicken it. The cost should not be an issue with either...tho some ritual tribal paints can be time consuming to apply, pending on their customs.

But I'd bet that, in towns that have the population & economy to support it, the local apothecary/alchemist is willing to make medieval-style cosmetics for the womenfolk.

And yeah - even though Skyrim is "more rugged" than Cyrodiil, that doesn't mean it's a primitive pit full of tribes living in mud huts. Even ignoring the villages, we've seen shots of decent sized cities - even large and fancy ones. If there's people making dye for colored & embroidered clothes and tapestries, and pigments for making paintings (let alone colored inks for illuminated manuscripts), there's certainly apothecaries and chemists who can make up reasonably non-primitive cosmetics.

Skyrim is said the be a very wealthly and powerful province. For the women to look they way they do, "attractive" is not far fetched as I said. I don't even understand, if women to not appeal to this "guy", then why is making this such a big deal. Did he even read the lore about the Skyrim province. Definitely not. As far as the clothes, some screen shots show, such as the bar girl, seems to be dressed rather formal? Am i wrong?

Maybe rugged, however Skyrim, according to lore is the wealthiest province with the largest and wealthiest cities. With that in mind, I see no reason that the wealthiest and most advanced, to the most primitive people may of worn decorative pigments and or paints. I expect to see some non wearing makeup street urchins and skooma addicts however. Warrior women could fall in any category...wear makeup, wear none, wear face paints or not...ect.

Women in the past, and even today, can make their own lip stain, blush, eyeshadow, whatever, from berries, beets, and other types of natural vegetation. It wouldn't be that hard for a farmhand's wife to go out, pick berries, crush them and wear the stain in whatever way she sees fit. Or let them dry and then crush them into a fine powder. Beets produce a very pretty healthy pink color that can be used for eyes, blush and lips. Charcoal can be used for eyeliner. So any woman you come across has the means to make her own makeup, she doesn't need an alchemist when she's got a variety of ways to doll herself up.

What are you implying?

In an earlier post you said you were homosixual. I would assume that when he says you wouldn't have a problem with same six marriage, that he means that, as a homosixual, you would be pro-same six marriage.

It's not necessarily true, but it's likely.

No, I'm afraid I did not. Name two of my posts which were offensive in any way. I am sure you will have a hard time finding them.

Challenge accepted!

There was your first post in the "http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1239665-already-spent-hundreds-of-hours-on-skyrim/" thread:

Haha wow it's like he has nothing to do with his life poor guy

And also your post in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1239470-i-ask-for-quick-advice-on-the-choice-between-the-version-360ps3/page__st__20__p__18785806__fromsearch__1#entry18785806.

Unless I've miscounted, that's two threads you have been offensive and/or rude.

Anyways, on topic...
I don't feel the amount of make-up in the screenshots is unrealistic/unappealing. Even action girls want to look pretty sometimes, you know?
