I was actually thinking it might be a half-reasonable way to stop Mrs Torryg whining about the recently departed. The place is trying to rebuild, cities have been trashed, the population has been decimated, and she's bleating about one dead husband..."Get over it, sweetheart, and get on the winning Dovakhin team".

What if the option to marry her becomes allowable? :P then again...I'm not sure if I've decided if my Dovahkiin is a lisbian, bisixual or straight.

I wouldn't marry her. You'd be nobility due to marriage and no matter what you did after the fact, you'd be marred by it.

I'd take Jarl Elisif's hand in marriage. It's probably the best foot forward, really. Because let's face it, Stormcloak or Imperial, Ulfric is NOT High King material. Sadly, running with the Stormcloaks rules out the best candidate in Balgruuf the Greater, IMO.

I don't think Balgruuf would want to be the high king, he seems fine just as a regualr Jarl but he would do a fantastic job as a high king.

I don't agree with the Empire on any level after they abandoned Hammerfell.

At no point did they abandon Hammerfell. It was actually a pretty shrewd move to concede southern Hammerfell to the Thalmor, at least in my opinion (Redguard opinions non-withstanding). Remember that southern Hammerfell is where all the fighting took place in that province and things are pretty damn bad there. The Thalmor then have to use more resources in order to get anything out of that region - the problem with Empire dissenters is they are too short-sighted. The ban on Talos is not permanent. Southern Hammerfall being in the hands of the Aldmeri Dominion was never going to be permanent either. :ermm:

Torygg was a King because the Empire made him king, for he was loyal to THE EMPIRE.

Torygg was made King by the Nordic Moot...which wasn't influenced by the Empire. Ulfric was there, he tried to become High King at the moot, he was overlooked. Torygg was chosen, much rage occured, Ulfric killed Torygg to become High King.

Sometimes I wonder if people ever actually look at the lore...

The MODs should stick a list of all threads involving the death of the high king, who's right in the CW, etc...

There isn't a day without at least one, and game has been out for nearly 8 months already!

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim%27s_Rule Ulfric did not try to be high king at the moot. The only thing we learn is that he spoke out about independence.

The reality, however, is that the High King swears fealty to the Emperor, and as Solitude is the city most directly influenced by Imperial culture and politics, the Jarl of Solitude has served as High King for generations. The Moot, therefore, is more formality and theater than anything else.

How about when the emperor ordered all the legions from Hammerfell to return to the Imperial City? The only reason it didn't fall is because General Decianus disobeyed orders.

and finally I want to say sorry for being incorrect and seeming like a jerk xD I kinda get heated up in debates and forget to actually check facts and say things I think are right....which I should really fix
It's fine. I enjoyed discussing with you. Lore nerds need to stick together, even if we're on separate sides of certain issues. :read:
