Unofficial DLC Discussion - Thread #7

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:11 pm

Did anyone see Hungry Donner lock the Riot Thread? I just loved his comment where he goes "There's a Dlc thread that I know you're aware of because you've posted in it" he messed that kid up. Idk I just loved that haha.

How do you riot on a forum anyway, the butthurt levels on these boards are already off the chart, and since there's no cars to flip, or trashcans to light on fire, I don't see how we could do anything else.

It would be sweet if in the DLC they announced throwing weapons along with a bunch of other stuff that everyone else wants.
Throwing knives would be pretty sweet and they can be like a line in the archery or one handed perk and not every throw will cause damage being as either they miss or they don't actually hit the target with the blade.

Bethesda is terrified of redundancy in any form. If they were in charge of a Nuclear Power Plant, we'd all be dead.

Actually dude im pretty sure like all here that everyone in this sudio know about all the glitches and bugs in that game before it was launched on all platforms. Anyway when you buy a tv and it dont work you just get another one until it works same thing for pc,x box or ps3. The fact that poor employees of bethesda will be fired i just really dont care so much, people lose their jobs and dont diserve it, at least if some testers are fired that will be good thing.

The decison anyway to launch a game even glitched come from the bosses (you know the guys who did big school, who got big salary and do big mistakes), people who dont know anything to video games but only marketing. So this is truly bethesda's behaviour since fallout series: we give you good games we work on storyline, freedom in game , but only way to have a good experience are modders that do all the finish work. So buy a pc, or if youre in xbox or ps3 dont buy another bethesda game or do with what you have cause it will not change for dlc cause the guys who decide dont care about you all they care bout is your money as usual
This is just wrong. A game of this size with so many possible variables is avoided by other companies, because you cannot test for so many variables without devoting far too much time to testing. Todd Howard has said many times, it is a sacrifice they make to see a game with so many variable choices realized, and people are well aware of it that follow the series. You should have known there are possible bugs that can never be found without years of testing with a massive amount of testers. I played this game for 150 hours and did not encounter a single bug that disrupted my game or questing experience. The few bugs I encountered had to do with dragons not landing. This issue is not so simple. I do agree the major bugs for the PS3 and 360 are something Bethesda has no good excuse for, but overall these bugs are something many of us expect and endure for a game with such a broad number of possible variables.

BETHESDA:

You understand as time passes more people stop playing your game right? This is the case with every game. With less people playing the game that means less of a audience to sell DLC to. This means less $$$ for you. It would be to your benefit to announce DLC soon.
Most people stop playing a game and return to it when DLC is released.

Actually its a direct reference to the wild speculation last night that ended up with us all deciding that bethesda was creating a sequal to wheres waldo. Has nothing to do with patches.

Dont let that comment get you down, he was just joking about how nuts the forum got last night.
Yeah, I picked up on that Dr. Obvious. Thanks.. Sorry I didn't use the [/sarcasm] tags.

For DLC, no matter what they do or where it takes us I would really like to see more missions for the exesting gulids such as if the dlc is in hammerfall or on of the other provinces I think it would be really cool if they gave us the oppertunity to hook up with like the theives guild or any of the other guilds and do missions for them in the region

How about DLC that includes new options for The Bonds of Matrimony Side Quest? Perhaps Jarl Elisif the Fair or Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak? Depending on which side you joined in the Civil War Quests.

Another idea for DLC is a quest where a new High King or High Queen of Skyrim is chosen. Maybe with the Dovahkiin being able to throw their "helmet" into the ring.

And make sure this is available for the PS3.

Well dude selling with some glitches especially a game like skyrim is honestly possible that is not the point of my thread. What mak me angry is the number of people complaaining about quest bug i can just list you few of them annoying for gameplay like:

-guardian circle bug with colette not selling it when you finished the quest
-vilkas bug when you conduct him to ysgramor tumb is stuck and you cant take another follower
-you can enter on dwarven ruins that is part on the main academy quest with a glitch the door is open but you cant exit cause it needs a key (restart all your game then) thee key only spawn when you start academy quest -ennemies npc stuck on rocks everywhere -freeze and crash
-....(see by yourself just search on google or play more this game)

The point of my thread is clearly against bethesda because they just do NOT correct these glitches as they should. I admit that this game is just nice but with minimal respect for customers they should have in mind that people like modders are making a patch for their game, that means they are doing their job. I respect your opinion this game is great but bethesda must understand that they cant take us for idiots by including new killcams instead of correcting all their mistakes first.

Just the ability to upgrade medium armor and certain un-upgradeable weapons and armor needs to be fixed or added. on top of that mounted and underwater combat needs to be added along with a Nighteye enchantment.

I would prefer dialog choices that actually do something different. Right now, it's either yes/no or the same thing said in three different ways for basically all quests in skyrim.

Soooooo I want two thing's, Number one being able to purchase shops, mine's etc I know that we can invest in buisnesses in Skyrim but investings not owning and also i'd like to spent my Gold on my buisness.
Number two i'd like a buliding like Battlehorn Castle (DLC for Oblivion) but a bit more padded out such as the regular guards, decorations and training rooms etc but i'd like my own stable's to store all my horses and allow some of my follower's to move in so i dont have to go trapsing around skyrim however i dont know how they would execute this well we cant have a random castle appear out of nowhere can we? mabe have it nestled in the mountains.

Well those are my idea's what do you think?

I want a businessy kind of Addition where a high speech is very helpful as opposed to just investing, I wanna see profits. But not the focus of dlc, just like included or something. But I would love for dragons to become friendlies at some point, not mounts though.

If I am not mistaken, Shivering Isles was released a full year after Oblivion.... Are we all fooling ourselves thinking it will be released so soon after the November release of Skyrim? Do you think the actual release of the DCL will be closer to a year after Skyrim??

Please give me some encouragement

Truthfully I don't care if they need another couple of months to work on the DLC, that's fine... but that doesn't stop them from telling us what is is so we have something to talk about. I mean dang what are they waiting for... right up to it's time to release it?

I know right? It's not enough that they seemed to focus much more heavily on a solid release for the 360, but they were also making deals behind the scenes.

I wonder how much Beth got paid by M$ for every bug left in the Ps3 version.

Given how different Skyrim is than previous ES games, I'm not sure what to think.

I'd be surprised if we didn't have some info by 6months out. (May). Considering that coincides with Morrowind's 10th anniversary, it's a good PR opportunity to make an announcement.

If that slips by, if we don't have a word by 8months out(July), I've either grossly overestimated Bethesda's capacity, or grossly underestimated the scope of what they want to deliver with the new content.

Anything up to, and over 10months(September) is going to be living in the shadow of Bioshock: Infinite.

Anything over a year is just too long to go without any information.

Just some Comparisons to previous Bethesda games. As I said before, Skyrim is a lot different.

Approximations:

Morrowind: Tribunal(6months), Bloodmoon(13Months)

Oblivion: Knights of the Nine(8months) Shivering Isles(12months)

Fallout3: OpAnchorage(3months) ThePitt(6months) BorkedSteel(7months) PointLookout(9months) MoShipZeta(10months)
