Unofficial DLC Discussion - Thread #7

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:14 am

No kidding. They'd rather bring down their mortal enemy Microsoft than look at the fact that the company they're loyally handing all of their cash to hordes it instead of doing the same thing for them. Sad, sad, sad. We live in the age of entitlement by force.

By the way: I think Hannity is a tard. So, please don't say that I'm some party Republican because I can see what the real problem is in this particular issue rather clearly. If these Sony guys would spend more time railing against their favorite company who has chosen to ignore them completely, maybe Sony would get off their bum and do something about it. Whining that your favorite company is neglecting you as it shows in their lack of interest to woo game developers, their inability to secure their networks, etc. on a Bethesda forum to a bunch of people who, frankly, don't really care about the fact that you think you've gotten screwed doesn't really help your situation any.
Back off, LCD. I play on the PC.

I just think Sony and steam would have been able to match microsofts offer. I mean they wouldn't make an offer that wouldn't leave them room for profit. Sony could match that offer that is low enough for profit. I would think atleast.

My main hopes are:

Some kind of improvements to vampirism and lycanthropy
Nature magic (ties in with other schools)
hardcoe mode

And not everyone uses or has access to mods...

It would be mighty awkward to be selling DLC to console users, which are already well-done free mods on PC.

It's best that Bethesda offers something that mod creators have trouble making.

Quest starts after finding dead dragons and deadras with bite marks on them. These deaths might be caused by a vampire, your quest marker points you towards bloodrock cave, a vampire den. Once inside you encounter 6 vampires alone with they're leader, Fangs. He tells you he only killed 6 dragons, the rest were killed by something else. Moments later the cave light went out and the whole cave turns pitch black followed by the screams of fangs and his vampires. When the light turns back on, everyone is dead besides you and all their corpses has bite marks on them. Time is running out, you got to find this mysterious killer before he cost more harm than even Alduin.
When you exit the cave, 8 thugs surrounds you and attempts to kill you but are defeated with ease. One of the thugs has a letter letting you know they were hired by the Monster. Your quest marker updates again and you must now go to the bottom pit of chaos. Once you arrived at your destination, you find mutilated bodies of dragons, werewolves, vampires, and daedras. The monster breaks through the steel wall and fights you. this is a very difficult since this monster could easily manhandle even alduin. You'll need to use the mark for death shout on the 4 red gems scatter around the room to weaken the monster and finally kill him. Once you killed the monster, Fangs teleports in the room and tells you he was just faking his death and that he hoped the monster would kill you but it seems he would have to do the job himself. Fangs transform and grew wings becoming much stronger, faster, and bigger, he is now called the Terror Fangs. Learn the ultimate shout from the wall divine light and use it to damage him.
He escapes and flies towards solitude but you grab on to his wings and stabs him in the back, after stabbing/blasting/shooting him 8 times he crashes through the gigantic rock holding the solitude city. Terror fangs is still alive, he has gained immunity to the divine light shout but solitude is falling apart, you escaped and the whole city falls down to the sea, crushing terror fangs. Solitude is gone but it was worth it, a great evil has been stopped and you got yourself a new shout.

Has there actually been any news of DLC yet? It's been quite a while since Skyrim's release, and we PC users have to tack on aneextra month onto whatever release date is ont he DLC due to 360 rights, most likely.

I don't mind waiting, i'm just more bewildered as to why we haven't heard anything yet.

Honestly i dont see myself returning to Skyrim if they only add more stuff that should have been in the game in the first place(like the magic/bow killcams)
Stuff like that comes waaaaay to late! Most people are tru with the game anyway. Now that my main char reached level 56 i couldn't care less about such things. For the real DLC my hopes are pretty low actually. What could they possibly come up with? Some Falmer related story? That would be nice to see..but would it be worth buying and investing another 50hours?..Questionable...
Maybe Summerset Isles, kicking the Thalmor in their butts? :starwars: That sounds like fun to me.

I mean, I undestand the secrecy to keep spoilers and excitment but can't they just give us something? Anything to decipher?

Most people stop playing a game and return to it when DLC is released.

Indeed...and also, I still play Morrowind and Oblivion. Though, Skyrim has pretty much occupied most of my gaming time since its release. I stopped to play ME3 then got back onto Skyrim as soon as I finished. I've played probably 300 hours in Morrowind (never finished it because it's freakin' huge) , probably 1000+ hours on Oblivion with many different characters and I've probably logged like 300 hours now with Skyrim, finished the main quest with one of them and now RP about 5 or 6 chars. This is on an Xbox 360 now until I save up and decide on a much better gaming PC for my mod fest later.

I started the series on MW, played TES at some point through the years on PC, Xbox, Xbox 360 and PS3 and honestly, over the last ten years I haven't had one game-breaking bug , that I can recall. Heck, I couldn't even tell you if Skyrim glitched the last time I played it, which was twently minutes ago. You know what though, it probably did, and I don't care. All I can remember is how fascinated I am by all this lore and playing a video game that for me doesn't end when I turn off my console or PC. I'm constantly on UESP just reading for all the background info on what I've encountered in the game, reading all the books I can find in game. Not even Dragon Age's lore has me this enthralled.

When I look at the overall picture, Bethesda has not disappointed me in the least and I have no issue with the amount of money I've shelled out for their TES products over the years. Anyway, my point is I'm way too engrossed in enjoying my RP experiences in Skyrim right now to be overly bothered by a lack of info on upcoming DLC. It'll get here when it gets here.

Horse Armor? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13348
hardcoe Mode? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4429

It's already been done as free mods.
Bethesda's going to have to do better than that.
Why PC gamers haven't got any compassion to our footslobing console troops?

it has been about 6 or 7 months since skyrim has been released, and yet there is no DLC. for me, that is a bit too long because it's almost a year. if anyone has any idea on what bethesda is probably working on or what is making them this slow, let me know; but what im most concerned about is what DLC is coming up. i have been looking into it for about the last 3 months and i havent gotten very far, this is what i got-

I haven't really even started Skyrim properly. I did a basic playthrough of the main quest, then made a save and speed-ran through each guild questline and reloaded.

I'm waiting til there is an immense amount of mods out (which is pretty much happening, but still, a little more waiting...) and the DLC is starting to be released.

Doesn't matter they have to consider all platforms... you guys would just get the paid version included in the DLC since the DLC is going to be much larger that just standard stuff like Horse Armor or a hardcoe Mode assuming they made that of course. Chances are the paid version would still be better than the free mods since BS has more experience with the game.

This is likley just placeholders for people that go high enough to see over the border... I wouldn't put much thought into this being DLC.

then why is there gates going into cyrodill and morrowind? (you can't go past them of course) think about it before automaticly dismissing it.

you know? maybe what skrim needs is a co-op mode? everybody that ive asked "would you like a Co-op for skyrim?" said yes, i mean there would be no reason NOT to put one in, i mean if you don't want to play co-op then just don't play it, simple...... Please bethesda?

Obviously it wouldn't make much sense from an RP perspective not to have gates... Skyrim is suppose to be one small area that makes up Tamriel. This is nothing new, Oblivion had areas like this too for other places that you could travel to if you took the borders off, though I'm not sure if it had gates... but I would say it just adds to the illusion of the world. But hey anything is possible.

Here is a thread someone made on this if your interested: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1368013-so-i-just-visited-morrowind-in-skyrim/

An exellent idea a Co-op mode would be good however the Devs know the players would blame evrey problem in the game on the fact that there IS a Co-op mode.
