Xillia doesn't have an explorable world map, it's like a less linear Graces.

As much as I'm enjoying Graces f, Xillia is the one I was interested in the most. Hope we end up getting it.

Hope you've got a lot of patience and a firm grasp of game mechanics/strategies. Resonance of Fate gets pretty brutal later on. :P

What was so bad about XIII? I hated how the game was so linear but it had a decent story, I will say its not one of the best ones but it was good. It had one of the series best and most memorable characters, Lighting.

Lightning was a female version of Squall aka she bored me. For me, memorable would be Snow. I'm not giving my reasons for not liking XIII anymore because they'll just get jumped on. I've played every FF from FF6(anthology), though I never finished FF6, but FF7 onward UNTIL FFXIII(I skipped FF12) they had no issues that were so bad that I couldn't continue playing after 4 hours. And I dont need to play an entire game to make full judgment. But when I bought the game I made the mistake of buying into the hype. Lesson learned, lesson learned well.

I have played all of them except the second number two. I have yet to beat the first two but this is a matter of opinion, I liked Squall too but he was more brooding and inward than Lightning who in my eyes was emotionally explosive.

My only complaint is it was to linear, that's it Snow was memorable as well as was Fang.

You have yet to play twelve you really should its a great game.

It's remarkable how much better XII is when you handicap yourself to a degree. I think most of the boredom some people claim to experience in that game is due solely to how painfully easy it is by default. Even if you specialize each character, a three-member team is just overkill for most of the challenges presented by the game, including the majority of the Marks. I'm currently going through with just two characters (No Guests or bringing in reserves to revive allowed), one of them only using weapons and armor and the other only using magic and skills, and I enjoyed the journey across the Sandsea for the first time in ages. The enemies there posed a threat for once, and I couldn't be happier. To hell with normal XII runs.

Sounds like you would have enjoyed International Zodiac Job System, which had a New Game+ mode where characters started at level 1 and wouldn't level up. I haven't played it myself, but from what I've heard it was nice for people looking for a bit more of a challenge.

After filing Tales of Xillia in Europe on March 20, Namco Bandai registered the title in the U.S. a day later.

Sure hope something comes from this. I believe they also registered the DS Tales games in the U.S., despite never localizing them.

Siliconera has done a nice writeup for http://www.siliconera.com/2012/04/02/all-the-little-things-that-made-me-love-xenoblade-chronicles/, which comes out on April 6 in North America. The author notes a number of the tings he liked best about his time with the game.

Definitely worth a read.

The game is scheduled for release in North America sometime this summer.

Good news, won't have to import a PAL copy now.

Gamestop had FFXIV up for preorder on their site.

The buy now button distracted me from the fact that it won't come out until late this year or early 2013. Yes I know it's not good (or hasn't been) but I hear they've made some decent improvements. But damnit it looks pretty and I wanna play it :(

Edit: I've been disappointed by Way of the Samurai games before. Are they any good now?

Persona 3 FES is coming to PSN as a PS2 classic

In one sense I'm glad but in the other sense P3 took a long time to beat so I'm not really looking forward to that aspect.

If it is $9.99 then I'll have saved about $30 so I'm happy I didn't get it when it came out on PS2

XSEED will only offer it digitally though. If you want a disc you still need to import it.

They are the same. If you haven't fallen for the unpolished gameplay before, you probably won't do it now either. I highly look forward to it though, my favorite PS3 games are Nier, Yakuza 4 and Way of the Samurai 3.

http://youtu.be/j0f8IJpXOFI the first English trailer for Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Unfortunately, the game was delayed to Q1 2013 and will launch in North America and Europe simultaneously.

http://www.siliconera.com/2012/04/17/ni-no-kuni-wrath-of-the-white-witch-will-have-more-content-for-the-west/

Hino later went on to say Level-5 would definitely be including extra content in the North American and European versions, like extra creatures. Namco Bandai localization specialist Katherine Schilling said the Japanese version of the game had 50-80 hours of gameplay to begin with.

The delay was a bummer, but it's nice to see we'll be getting more content.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!! That's the best news I've heard in a long long time.

My original PS1 copy no longer works >.<, this will be great.

And you might want to hold on before buying FFXIV. If this is the "re-release" of that MMO, I have my doubts that it'll be much better than the flop original.

Gameplay mechanics have already been greatly improved. Once 2.0 launches (drastically changing the game's world) then it'll like an entirely new game. Then comes the fun of trying to convince folks to try it again, and of course the inevitable switch to free to play.

It's a shame it launched the way it did, but it can definitely be salvaged.
