Hm difficult to say. The card isnt that bad. But the CPU isnt the best. Phu would say around middle. In my opinion the impact of the CPU is greater than the impact of a GPU so around middle is the most accurate I can say. But yeah remeber Low = Console Graphics no need to worry about it.

Edit: Yeah your card has the same power as a 9800GT so the card is in the Mid/High predictions but yeah what bothers me is the dual core wich is in the min. specs. So I will stay cautious and remain: Around the middle means, some effects up some down.

Thanks for your input, any further input will be appreciated.

What graphics settings can I get with this laptop:

RAM: 6 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M (1 GB)
CPU: Intel Core i5 2410M(2.30GHz)

I don't know what resolution.... My current screen resolution is 1366x768, I don't know what resolution the game would be at, but something decent I guess would be good.

Your CPU is a middle class dual core, and the graphic card is in the mid. predictions. Because the CPU isnt the best and its at the min specs, I would say between low and middle.

Ugh... I'm so split between PC and xbox right now. If I can only get low on my laptop that would kind of svck, but at the same time having mods is so much better... Anyone have any suggestions?

Like Bethesda said: Low = Console Graphics. So it means every little step to middle will be better than the console versions. So if you like mods, grab the PC version

Its actually the lowest end of the Sandy Bridge based mobile dual cores. But other than that you're right.

You should be fine running Skyrim at medium at that resolution. Even at low the game will look the same/better than the xbox version, plus you get all the benefits of having it on PC. So why would you want to play it on console?

core i7 2630 quad @ 2.8 ghz, + ATI 6770m OC to 850/100, looking to run the game on my laptop display 720p.

Think I can push out all settings on high at reasonable frame rates ~40+?

Hmm.
I wonder how this will run on my iMac (under Bootcamp w/Win 7 of course), or maybe I should just pick up the PS3 version? I've already pre-ordered the PC version, but if it's crappy it's no big deal to just play on the console.

Mid-2011 27" iMac
2560 x 1440 Resolution
3.4 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i7
Radeon HD 6970M w/2GB DDR5
16 GB RAM (1333 MHz DDR3)
SSD Drive

I rarely game anymore, but the few games I do play generally run on max or near-max settings (usually at max resolution, but a few, like The Witcher 2, for example, have to be lowered to 1920x1080 to run on max settings).

TheWitcher 2 is really hardware hungry, its no big deal if you need to lower something to play it on max. I dont know much about Macs but if your Win7 with Bootcamp can use all the hardware without restrictions you can max it out.

CPU isnt bad, definitly in the recommended specs. The card is a faster middleclass graphic card. Its in the Mid/High predictions. But you have OC so it will be more on the high side. Cant say exactly how much performance the OC brings but I would say you will be around high. To predict FPS is really hard, because it depens on your video settings ingame, also how well cleaned the PC is and much more. So we can just give you a prediction in wich graphic category (low/mid/high/ultra) your game will run.

Hi all,

My laptops specs are as follows,

6GB RAM (Has never been an issue).
Intel i7 2.0 GHz (Boost at 2.9GHz). It shows up as eight cores, each running at 2.0GHz (again, can boost to 2.9GHz).
Intel HD Graphics 3000
Monitor is 1600 x 900

How well will this run Skyrim? And it WILL be able to run Skyrim right? Even with Intel Graphics?

From what I've read, Intel Graphics depends on processor power, and I believe that my processor is very good. I've played Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Oblivion.

Oblivion I've tested, I maxed out the settings, and my processor ramped up to a whopping 20-25% to handle it. So I think it should be able to run Skyrim? Again, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the help :)

EDIT 2: Also, my Graphics control panel says that the minimum graphcis memory is 64MB, and the max is 1696 MB (more than recommended ?).

EDIT: Also, are there any tricks to make my computer be able to handle or run this faster or more easily? Thanks :)

Hey guys!

I just upgraded my system and would love your input on what settings i should be able to run Skyrim.

System

Processors Intel? Core? i7-2600
? 3.4 GHz, DMI 5GT/s

Memory, standard 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Hard drive description 1.5 TB SATA 3G (7200 rpm

Graphics h9-1010a: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (1 GB GDDR5 dedicated) With this though, when i graphics control panel it says it can use 4gb graphic memory ?

I dont know why my card has been stated to run it on medium. In witcher 2 i can run in ultra and BF3 most settings are at max ? Also i will be running the game on my 23" monitor

Badly. Oh, it'll operate, however, not attractively, not as nicely as a console at all. I wouldn't care to waste my time with such a machine.

Really hard to say. First you have just 4 cores not 8. It shows 8 because every core runs 2 threads. So you have a i7 quad core dont know what means 2.0 exactly but I think it will be in the recommended specs.

But I really dont know about your graphic card. But if you can play other games maxed out maybe the outcome for Skyrim isnt that bad. But its hard to compare the older Bethesda games with Skyrim because Skyrim has a new engine. I just can say try it out.

Yeah and about the VRAM. The VRAM isnt anymore an indicator how powerful a graphic card is. You can have 1GB or 2GB VRAM but the card can handle [censored]. Its more important wich chip is working, and the shaders and much more.

And yeah, tricks to make it faster? Keep the system clean with CCleaner. Deinstall things you dont need. Check if you have malware or spyware on your system. All these little things will help you improve the performance.

Really? Can you explain it at all? I just really am having difficulty understanding this. I can run all of those other games beautifully...

Did you bought maybe an Acer Predator PC? Because I have the same specs as you but I have 16GB RAM instead of 8GB.

The CPU is great. Its not an 2600K that just means you cant overclock it, but the CPU itself is really powerful.

The graphic card is in the high predictions so dont worry about it. I play BF3 on ultra. But just know that the card cant handle AA that great. So I think without AA Skyrim should run on ultra. (in my opinion even when the predictions are just high)

And yeah the GTX 550 Ti has just 1GB graphic RAM. The other 3GB are virtual RAM, wich it steals from your system.
