Vampire attacks... Really?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 2:49 am

Just downloaded Dawnguard and was heading for the Riften ratways in search of this mysterious face changer when I came across two master vampires and a thrall attacking... They killed four guards, Ingun Black-Briar and Asgeir Snow-Shod before they were put down.

So is this a common occurance now because I'm the sort of fella who rages at dragon attacks in settlements, I'm just worried now I'll end up with just me and guards/essentials for company now

MUHAHA. This was complained over fairly often in the beta board. It's a feature, not a bug.

You just have to be REALLY careful. Somehow they wiped out Solitude's "outside" guards. Permanently.

A fairly annoying feature of you aren't carrying cute disease potions or have a high resistance to disease.

I was always getting infected by all the attacks lol

Just a question to the beta testers, will completed Dawnguards MQ stop this from happening?

Ya know, I'm not sure. I'm thinking maybe so, but I left town shortly after completing the last quest.

They decrease, it seems. Until you temporarily blow up the sun for the day. In which case, there's a good chance that random towns will become a vampire buffet.

I still havent completed it on the dawnguard side... But even as a Vampire i was unable to end them. You just have to be quick about finding and killing the vampires.

About ten minutes ago. They literally start invading towns before you're even done downloading. Even when your Xbox is off, they are busy pillaging your house, doing naughty things with your wife, and summoning up Molag-Bal.

Okay, I might be over-exaggerating, but you get the picture. :P

Yup, they happen. I still haven't had it happen to me, though. And I've been floating around since the 12th.

Negative. But I believe that Aela can revert you once if you are ever cured or refused the beast form during the Companions questline.

At first I thought you were talking about something that was part of a vanilla game (vampires and thralls spawning randomly together)... then I noticed it was in Riften.

I'm all for danger, but damn. Bit too harsh methinks to be having quest givers killed so early on by such high level monsters. Should at least give the player chance to kill them really quickly.

But it would seem to only be once.
