Vampire attacks... Really?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 5:41 am

but at the same time she recongizes her behavior and tries to stop herself untill time it becomes an explination for story points. And if you take the time to get to know her she retracts from that attitude of "You can't understand me." She gives an option to talk about your family, and she gives her condolinces and apologizes for her complaining. And those times she says she admits shes happier with you feels gratifying.
What about when she first meets you? "Hi, i am a vampire and you are here to kill my kind...will you take me home?" Dafuq?????

Yeah, this made me raise my eyebrow.

I hate whiney afflicted characters like Farkas and Vilkas who want to belch for eternity in a place full of fat bearded men. But at least Serana enjoys her vampirism.

So what does she say? Vampirism is evil, I want to be with the "good" guys?

"For the good of all vampires" is his intent which in a dark kind of way is very Noble. Serana annoys me AND make my VL form weak so i get rid of her as SOON as possible

This.

Spoiler
I really find myself wishing that I could have Lord Harkon win and my character survive as well... I could handle being is 2nd in Command... :D

That part made me laugh. It was odd I will admit that. But it made me think of her as having a bit of spice to her personality. "Wow she has the balls to ask me to take her home...? Well I guess... I suppose it's a change to meet the leader."

You have to ride her disco stick like a leach for that to happen.

No Basicly you bring up what it did with her father and how he ended up a pile of mush on the floor. And then one of two choices both seemingly nice but one truly shows you care for her. "I support you no matter what."

Unfortunately, as of the beta, there is no way to let Harkon live... and I wanted to black out the sun forever....

But that depends on the dialogue you have with her, I think you can convince her to embrace her dark gift.

See this sounds like the type of bad story elements that make me cringe.

Found a Let's play though, maybe I'll see it for myself in a sec. For anyone else non-Xbox or unsure if they wanna purchase yet that also wants to see footage, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X3TR0vDuI4&feature=related

Longknife, buy Dawnguard. It's good. Not perfect, but good. Definitely one of Beth's best expansions to date.
Really? Maybe counting Fallout DLC and Horse armour.

Oh I realise it's a feature, just not a fan of it at all.
I hope this can be deactivated like the random dragons attacks in the mq via setting a variable.

Wow. This is truly awful. I will not be getting this DLC.

It would be fine if attacks didnt start until you join a faction. But since I dont have a choice in-game as to whether I trigger it, I have no option other to make the metagame/wallet choice.

So instead of taking the time to kill a vamp and his thralls every once in a while yu will just skip the Snow Elves, Auriel's Bow, Aetherium, Soul Cairn, and Crossbows...makes lots O' sense

I have to agree with Drake on Serena.

"Yeah it's a castle. I didn't mention it before because I didn't want you to think I'm one of those girls, yknow?"

Wtf? It just feels really out of place for one and two, [censored] are you coming onto me? I just met you and you're a video game character wtf.
Why'd they drop high school drama into a midevil setting?

Correct. I am not particularly interested in much of the content. Crossbows and the new spells maybe. So while I would have been fine having 1 vamp hunter that I deliberately trigger, I am not interested in dealing with vamps spawning in the majority of my games. Its tedious.

Now if its easy to mod on the pc, so that attacks can be disabled until you start the dawnguard or vamp stories, then I will buy it at that time and mod it.

I still think you are all over-exaggerating. I never see any vamps unless i fast travel to a city, at which point they spawn and attack ME. So unless i were to walk away and LET them kill everyne then nobody but guards ever die...and Nazeem that 1 time but i DID let that happen

Even so...

I mean I kinda sit here and scratch my head when people say dragons killed their townies. When dragons attack my townies, they just fall to one knee, but never actually seem killable, save for the guards.
But I dislike dragon encounters in general because they're tedious. Those sound tedious too....

I think it'd help if you lost the "tunnel vision" and opened your mind more. You're focusing your entire opinion of the expansion on some of the smallest, most inconsequential elements yet ignoring the larger picture of what the expansion adds. there's far more to the DLC than one character and some random Vampire attacks.

If this kind of thing is big enough to sway your entire opinion of a DLC, then maybe you should pick a different game to play.

Uriel,

Lets not do insults please. Someone could as easily tell you to open your mind to other people's play preferences.

If it doesnt bother you then fine. For those who dont want to deal with it, just skip the DLC.

Its all good.

I didn't insult you one bit.

It's obvious that you're focusing your opinion on a couple of very insignificant parts of the DLC and thus will be missing out on a metric ton of content over some very minuscule items.

But if you want to be shallow and call my opinion an insult, then to each his own. I really don't care. You're the one who'll be missing out, not me.

No wonder bethesda had the NDA, I would not have bought dawnguard because of this. I hate the dragon attacks every five minutes, now I have vamp attacks to......yay?
