Vampire attacks... Really?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 5:41 am

She would be great...except that she is a SITHIS_DAMNED teenager! All she does is B!tch about where-ever you are at or whine about her mommy and daddy issues...WHY CANT I KILL HER????

Am I right in the assumption that she follows the Bethesda-style of character types, AKA she's heavily defined by a single personality trait and has little personality beyond that singular trait? :P

Oh, I do too. I also agree that Skyrim feels terribly unfinished (hence introducing things only to have them become completely unexplained by story's end and the terribly short guilds).

So far a lot of this has me questioning the reasoning behind decisions. Why have more annoyances behind city walls? Why have wild werewolf encounters that cannot transfer the disease?
This.

Why add blood potions and new feeding animations when stage 4 vampirism has no MAJOR drawbacks?

She sounds hot. Too bad we can't marry her. I wouldn't care if Molag Bal touched that.

Or maybe I do...considering he had six with Vivec.

If i was a game designer id do the same s[censored], constantly mess with players' heads because theres a good majority that deserve it. Someone mentions something that may be a slight annoyance such as an npc or two being killed in a random encounter, then it snowballs in the minds of gamers into the entire world being killed by the random attacks and now the game 'svcks'!! even though it didnt happen. But if i was a game designer id do worse just to piss off the pessimistic tools who have to find anything eventually to complain about, knowing full well they'd still just continue buying dlc.

I'm assuming at some point this conversation took place:

Todd: Hey, Pete, I want to talk to you about Dawnguard.

Pete: Yeah, vampires. It's gonna be awesome.

Todd: Well, you know how we had dragons attack cities, and they could kill the NPCs because we didn't program them to realize they were at a huge disadvantage if they were up against an Ancient Dragon with only an Iron Dagger and no armor?

Pete: Yeah. Players hated that.

Todd: I know. So I was thinking... What if we have multiple vampires appear in cities and wreck havoc on the townspeople?

Pete: What sort of vampires?

Todd: Master vampires. The highest level vampires possible.

Pete: And when would this start happening?

Todd: Immediately.

Pete: But wouldn't that be more annoying than the dragons, since you'd have multiple threats that are harder to see running around and killing the townspeople, rather than one large enemy that you can easily focus on.

Todd: Yeah. What's your point?

Pete: ... I don't remember.

So true.

I wouldn't go so far and she does sort of lead you into one really good crack. Basicly you ask about her knowign the elder scrolls and she says " Unfourtunatly you don't learn much about things just by sleeping with it." And so you have the option to ask "So do you want to learn more about me?" I laughed so hard at this. I suppose Seranas more of a matter of personal experiance. I found her character a far cry from being an angsty whiner. On paper it sounds like it but her reasons are sound. When she returns home her father pays no head to HER well being. "OH YOU HAVE MY ELDER SCROLL GOODY!" Not a how are you daughter or anything like that until she brings it up. She has allot of problems about feeling alone but can you blame her with a phsyco father?

Yes. Some npcs named Farmers will transform and go hostile. Random encounters, they be.

No worries, just punch them once or twice and they'll die. :D

Spoiler
when you kill her father. The source of all the drama. She was a teenage girl rangled into being .... well with Molag Bal which lead to her father being a mental power hungry idiot who would kill her for a prophocy. He forelones her and so does her mother whome she once had a relationship with. For a moment I thought Seranas mother cared for her. but then the next sentence proved me wrong once it turned back towards the direction of making sure her blood wasn't used to make the bow an evil tool. It's understandable but for that to be her soul reason? Ouch.
Her family has more problem than the residents of Arkham Asylum. And those guys are fruit loops...

Do the vampires only attack while you're in a city, or do they just attack whenever. It would be kind of annoying to just come back to town, and see half the NPC's dead.

It would be great if we could have Dawnguard guard the towns.

I herd some mixed results from the forums. Some people said they go to a town and half the populations killed. I haven't had that problem though.

but at the same time she recongizes her behavior and tries to stop herself untill time it becomes an explination for story points. And if you take the time to get to know her she retracts from that attitude of "You can't understand me." She gives an option to talk about your family, and she gives her condolinces and apologizes for her complaining. And those times she says she admits shes happier with you feels gratifying.
